Opulent Orange

Good Morning everyone.

Well i must say joining in my first blog hop last week was brilliant fun, seeing how everyone used up little snippets is inspiring. Thank you to everyone that visited and left comments on my butterfly card.   Hopping to one of those blogs i came across a new challenge blog to me rainbowcardchallenge with the theme for this month being 'Orange Opulence' it really sparked my imagination.  Nice warm colours while we had the snow and ice.

I decided to go with a floral image and use a stencil for the background.  This will be a year for stencils i think after getting lots for Christmas.  Ive gone with a simple Oxide ink sponged through my stencil here.

6x6" white cardblank.  I first took a piece of white card, taped on my stencil and using distress Oxide inks sponged through in a ombre effect, lighter in the middle and darker at the outside.  Greeting stamped in black. I then die cut it with a stitched square die, with the die being slightly larger than the stencil edge it gives a nice white border.  I mounted this onto burnt orange card and then my cardbase.

I stamped my pennyblack lily stamp twice, coloured them in with wink of stella pens, i fussy cut out all of one and then just the main flower of the second one, i decoupaged them and then added to the card front. Orange glitter gems to finish.

Close up on the flower, you can make out the glittery sparkle wink of stella pens better.  I added some white gel pen highlights to the stamens.

Items Used:
Pennyblack slapstick cling 'Tiger Lily' stamp
Crafters companion sentiment stamp
Oxide inks - spiced marmelade, wild honey & ripe persimmon
Kuretake wink of stella pens
Mylar Stencil
Stitched square dies

Thank you once again for stopping by, i hope you have a good week. Emma
