Voice of the garden

Good Morning everyone

Today im sharing a MDF plaque picture made for mum for Mothers day as she loves her garden and spends every spare moment gardening and enjoying the pleasure of a flower in bloom & the bees buzzing

8" round mdf circle plaque.  After adding texture paste and acrylic paints - see last photo....i dry brushed on white gesso, gradualy building it up until i was happy with it, on the top layer i light brushed on imagination crafts starlight rich gold & diamond paint which gives amazing shimmer when the light hits it.  I then added black paint to the edge to frame it - this also picks up on the black in the bees.

I stamped the bees onto white cardstock and white vellum, the cardstock versions i watercoloured with inktense pencils, the vellum version i cut off the wings and glued onto the cardstock bees - thus giving them a more realistic looking wing.  The smaller bee stamps come from an old chocolate baroque set.  I stamped the bee hive and cut out, leaving it white and added to the bottom of the scene.  I then arranged the bees.

I stamped the JOFY sentiment and cut out, mounted onto black to pick up on the black in the bees and added in place.

Just a close up

Another close up - sadly couldn't get a great photo of the shimmer the diamond paint gives

The background.  I first added texture paste through 2 stencils, first a circular flower burst which i put in the centre, and then a honeycomb stencil which i added in places around the outside. Once dry I then added acrylic paints, following the flower circle burst i kept them going the same way using bright yellow, red, blue & green.......yes at this point it looks a right mess๐Ÿ˜  The dry brushing of white over the top once the base is totally dry really softens the colours and makes them more cohesive.

Items Used:
Pink ink stamps 'bee-utiful'
Chocolate baroque stamps 'honey bee'
Paperartsy JOFY stamp - bee quote
Stencils
Texture paste
MDF 8" circle plaque
Pebeo acrylic paints
Imagination crafts Starlight/dora paints rich gold, diamond
Vellum

Thank you all for stopping by.  I hope its a good week for you.  Hugs Emmaxx
