Christmas in July

Good Morning Everyone

My first Christmas cards of the year and a very rare for me totally flat card.  Ive actually used a non Christmas stamp with these carabelle birds and gave them party hats as they are at a Christmas party😁

DL Kraft card base.  I first stamped out the birds and using a fine liner pen doodled in some hats on them.  To make them look like they are sitting on their heads you need to draw over the top of the head so i then coloured the hats with white gesso which hides the original stamped lines.  I then coloured the hats with red and green ink and gold acrylic paint.  Yellow on the beaks and feet and then just left the birds black and white. I then cut them out.

I used off-cuts of Chrismas papers in red and green to layered a strip across the bottom of the card front for the birds to perch on.  Die cut sentiment in white and white snow dots added to the background with a white posca pen.

Version 2.  To pick up on the gold i used on the hats i edged the cardbase with gold to give it a gilded effect.

Items Used:
Carabelle Studio stamps 'des oiseaux sur un fil' SED0027
Cheerylynn christmas sentiment die
Paper pad from the works
Kraft card
White posca pen
Gold Acrylic paint
White gesso

Thank you all for stopping by once again.   We had a baby seagull fall off a neighbours roof last week and is living in our garden, it is still a ball of fluff and the parents are being very protective so we can't get in the back garden at the moment for being attacked, even the cats are now avoiding it after one got injured.  I am glad though that the parents are looking after it and feeding it as i don't like to see them abandoned to starve....hopefully it grows fast.  My first baby hedgehogs ventured out this week too, so i hope the seagull parents leave them alone.  On the plus side as gardening is out of the question it means more crafting so ive been enjoying that in front of the fans and wimbledon. I hope you all have a good week.   Hugs Emmaxx

  11. Brilliant cards Emma, glad your seagull chick was being looked after still by it's parents, we have had hundreds at the rescue centre. Sorry to hear it meant you couldn't get in the garden, but the weather was probably to hot anyway. Big hugs Kirsty. x
