Happiness blooms from within

Good Morning everyone

I had a couple of these pink ink foxgloves coloured in from a previous session so decided to use them on DL cards.  My foxgloves are just sending up flower spikes in the garden so won't be long until they are in flower, and this last week more and more bumble bees have come out of hibernation which is lovely.

White DL (4x8") cardbase.   I raided my background drawer for some that would go with the colour of the foxgloves which id previously coloured with inktense pencils and cut out.  This background i think was made with oxide inks as its more matt in finish.  I die cut it into a panel to fit the card front and stamped the foxglove stamp so that i got all the little swirly bits from the stamp and then decoupaged the coloured in version over the top.

I stamped the quote from the set onto white card and cut into a strip.  I had a die cut using the fancy die i used for the topper that had moved while die cutting so i just cut the lacy edges off that were useable and glued to the back of my sentiment panel which i adhered in place with foam tape.   Bumble bees  were the ideal finishing touch.

I added posca pen to the dots on the foxglove centres to help them stand out and a touch of glitter glue to the bee wings.

Version 2 , this time i took a brusho'd background which was very lime & lemon and i felt too bright for the apricot foxgloves so i dulled down the colour using white gesso with flower stencils.  It is very subtle and difficult to capture in the photo but its just enough to mute the background enough.  Then the only over difference to the first card is butterflies instead of bees.

Lavinia butterflies stamped onto white, watercoloured with purple distress inks to be a contrast to the apricot flowers, cut out and arranged.

Items used:
Pink ink stamps 'flourishing foxgloves'
Lavinia mini butterfly stamps
Chocolate baroque stamps 'honey bee'
Art by marlene flower stencils
DL nested die set
Derwent inktense pencils
Brush's
Distress & Oxide inks

Thank you all for stopping by again.  I hope you enjoy the rest of the week and then weekend.  Emmax

Id love to enter the 1st card in the  following:
