Good Morning everyone
Welcome to July and a new challenge over at we love stamping
with the theme this month being Sun, Sea &/or Sand or you can go with the anything goes option.
I decided to dig out my Katzelkraft flamingo stamp - every time i see these guys they make me think they are about to break into doing the can-can
5x7" card base. See pic below for how i did the background. I then stamped the flamingos onto white card, watercoloured with distress inks, cut out and arranged them. Using a light brown fine liner pen i added a little shadow under each flamingo. I inked the edge of the card with stormy skies & vintage photo distress inks.
Im trying to use old 6x6 paper pads, here i used 'coastal escape' by kaisercraft. I took a light blue paper for the sky and die cut memory box 'circle burst' into it, behind the circle i added a yellow paper from my stash to act as the sun.
I took a different blue paper for the sea and tore the bottom edge, behind this bottom edge i added a torn strip from a different blue paper to give the effect of waves. One paper had this fab print of the sand with the water coming in which i added the edge under the blue layer so it looked like the water is over the sand.
I then tore some more pieces from the sand print paper for the front layers. I then stamped the sentiment with dark blue ink.
I rounded the top corners as felt it picked up the roundness of the sun
Up close of the flamingos - I added a small dot of stickles glitter glue to their head dresses for a little sparkle - I used 'twinkle' stickles which is clear with a purple undertone so ideal for these pinky purple flamingos
and the inside. I again used papers and elements from the same paper pad. I had one flamingo left which i added on top of a sentiment strip which reads
'Let the waves hit your feet & the sand be your seat'
Items Used:
Katzelkraft flamingo stamp
Katzelkraft stamps 'carpe diem quotes'
Memory box die 'circle burst'
Kaisercraft paper pad 'coastal escape'
Ranger stickles 'twinkle'
Distress Inks 'picked raspberry, seedless preserve, ripe persimmon, wild honey, twisted citron, tumbled glass, stormy skies, vintage photo'

This is such a cheerful and fun card and I love the way you created your sea and beach with the torn paper. So effective. You must have had plenty of patience on the day you fussy cut those flamingoes. If it was me doing it they would have lost legs or feathers or even heads! Great card xx

So many details to admire! ove the die you used for the sun with the embossed background! And above all, the fabulous seaside! Great use of the torn paper and I wondered with what material or technique you made the foam of the sea, it's so realistic! And it’s design paper. Wonderful!! Also the inside is a delight!
