A Child is born

Good Morning everyone

These Christmas cards came about after id made these (see here) everyday cards with off cuts of acetate.  I always make a few nativity based Christmas cards and thought this really old chocolate baroque stamp would look great with acetate for a stained window effect.  Ive kept everything else white so the colour really pops.

Card size 6.5x5.5"    I first stamped the image onto acetate with stazon ink, then on the back i added colour with alcohol inks.  I attached strips of white linen card to either side, i added a little tacky pva to each side of the image and then the white card on top, so no glue is on the actual stamped image.  I then added 3d foam to the back of the white card panels and added to my cardbase.  This lifts the image enough for the light to shine through.

The strips added either side were actually the offcuts from cutting my base card so i didn't need to cut into another sheet of card.

I stamped the image again onto white, added subtle colour with alcohol markers and cut out just mary and child, this i glued flat into place on the window.  Computer printed sentiment and glitter glue to finish.

You can really see the diamond stickles i used on the halo's

Version 2 using blue, lilac & green alcohol inks and star dust stickles

and version 3, the alcohol inks are more mottled on this version

Items Used:
Chocolate baroque stamp set - a child is born
Ranger Tim Holtz alcohol inks
Acetate
Ranger stickles glitter glue - diamond, star dust

Thank you all for popping by.  Hugs Emmax
