Fairy Memo block holder

Good Morning everyone

Today im sharing a memo block holder that i decorated.  Unusally this is a project for me.  With my memory loss im planning to be better this year at keeping track of things, instead of lots of bits of paper flying around that then get lost.  Im using one sheet on the block to write what i need to do each day, if i don't get it done then write it down for the next day.  Im also writing down everything i need to remember when i think of it as i never remember it these days!  Well starting the year with good intentions anyway.

So ive used lots of small lavinia stamps and various stencils and inks.  Ive picked up colours that are in my curtains with the lilacs, greens and yellows.

I first painted the wooden holder black inside and out.  I cut panels of white card to fit each side and the front.  I added tumbled glass and shaded lilac to craft mat sprized with water and dipped one side of the card in to build up colour for the sky are. Then pistachio and twisted citron for the grass area.  Once dried i stencilled on some stars and little dots in pale inks.
Using oxide inks i then stamped various floral & foliage lavinia stamps on each panel, just building them up using pale colours.

I then stamped my lavinia fairies on each panel, using my stamping press to build up the depth with archival black ink, creating little scenes for them, i doodled in ground and little details with a black fineliner pen.  I then used yellow/orange alcohol markers to add in little flowers to the ground  and light emitting from her lantern.  The benefit of using the alcohol markers over waterbased inks is they don't activate the inks again so you get a much brighter finish.  I used green alcohol markers to add a little grass detail.  White gel pen highlights and glitter glue to their wings to finish.

To keep my house white i stamped it on white paper and cut out and added to my scene.  This panel has a lavinia word stamp in the background, stamped in grey.  I stamped little sentiment words on each panel, here its 'so awesome' - flying in on a seed pod would be awesome😁

Make a wish, built up as before with lots of stamps.  I inked around the edges of each panel with black soot & chipped shapphire distress inks.

and the back panel is their village.  The 4 back houses id stamped and masked to layer them, the front house i again stamped onto white paper and glued on flat, i added little accents to the hourse like the hearts on the chimney with a fine liner pen. Again yellow alcohol markers for the light in the windows and flowers in the grass.

to finish i gave it a spray vanish to seal it all

I really enjoyed making this memo block and i can move it around to look at a different scene each day.

Items Used:
Various Lavinia stamps
Small word stamps
star & dots stencils
Wooden memo block holder
Oxide & distress inks
Alcohol markers
Black fine liner
White gel pen
Stickles diamond, twilight
Black acrylic paint
