We three Kings

Good Morning All.

So Ive finally made a start on this years Christmas cards.  Kicking it off with these simple ones using a lovely paper cuts die.  Still using up my pile of cardstock, these are using a lovely soft gold pearl card as the base.

6x6 " card.  After making my cardbase from the soft gold card i die cut the 3 kings die from the front and then added a little colour with oxide inks in peacock, pistachio & violet.  I then made inserts from colourful heavyweight Christmas paper which i glued inside, this then makes the card more study to compensate for most of the card front being missing.  I only added a little glue to near the spine on the front of it so that the front is free which hopefully you can see from the photo - just to add some interest to what is otherwise a completely flat card.  I added a strip of the paper i used for the insert to the bottom of the front to help tie it together.

Soft gold pearl with a blue insert.  peacock, crackling campfire & violet oxide inks

and a purple insert version. Crackling campfire, peacock & pistachio oxide inks.  Sadly the photos don't show how love the gold pearl card is.  This die cut through the 300gsm cardstock perfectly first time - ideal for batch making those Christmas cards.

Items Used:
Creative Expressions papercuts die 'We three kings edger'
Soft gold Pearl 300gsm cardstock
12x12 paper pads - the works
Distress Oxide inks 'Wilted Violet, Pistachio, Peacock feathers, crackling campfire

Little town of Bethlehem

Good Morning all, i hope you are enjoying some sunshine this week.

So today i am sharing a batch of Christmas cards i made with a traditional theme but maybe not quite so traditional colours.  Sorry but its a brusho/pixie powder mix again.

7x7" white card blank.  I first stamped the image onto white card and die cut into a square.  I then using brusho's and pixie powders added colour to the background. Doing it this way i could have alittle control over which area the colour goes in.  Once completely dry i stamped over the top with a christmas script stamp in white gesso.  I then stamped the village again and cut it out and added it over the first image with glue gel.

I then cut a white frame, matted it onto mirror card, then mounted onto backing 'paper' made with the matching brusho colours as the topper.  Sentiment die cut in same colours.

Orange and Green version with gold mirri card

Close up.  As the backgrounds are so busy i kept the main focal point white to help it stand out.

Blue & Orange version with Silver mirri.

Blue & Gold version with Silver Mirri.  This version i stamped the christmas script with grey ink.

Pink & Purple version with gold mirri.

I managed to make 30 of these cards, although the design in the same the different colours and you never get the same background once using the brushos keeps it interesting.

Items used;
Anitas 'Little town of bethlehem' stamp
PSX 'christmas script' stamp K-3221
Cheerylynn Christmas sentiment die
Brushos and Cosmic shimmer pixie powders
Large stitched square dies
7x7 craft uk cardblanks
