Hoppy Birthday

Good Morning everyone

Today is 2 cards made using the hoppy frog stamps from aall&create, teamed up with feeling fresh paper pad from the works and sizzix polaroid frame die.

7x7" card.  I first stamped all the images onto white card and watercoloured with distress inks and cut them out.  I then die cut the smallest polaroid frame from white card and matted them onto navy blue cardstock, i then die cut the frame again from a patterned paper and glued the paper into the frame as a background for my frogs.  I then stamped the words with blue ink and glued the frogs into place with glue gel.

I matted a square of paper onto navy and then the base card.  I added a strip of one of the papers to the base and then a large paper circle die cut.  All the papers are from the same paper pad.  I glued the polaroid frames into place with glue gel and got arranging all the extras around them.  I added orange glitter dots to finish, picking up on the orange ink i used on the frogs eyes and the damselflies.

Just a close up, i used glossy accents on the frogs eyes and glitter glue in the middle of the waterlily.

and version 2
Made the same way, only this time i used a soft orange for my mat layers, picking up on the orange accents in my characters and also using paler patterned papers.  Green gems to add some bling to finish.

Items Used:
Aall&create stamps 'be hoppy'
Sizzix polaroid frame dies
Spellbinders grand circle dies
Make&create paper pad from the works 'feeling fresh'
Distress inks - squeeshed lemonade, twisted citron, evergreen bough, blueprint sketch, ripe persimmon

Oh LIttle Donkey

Good Morning everyone.  I hope you are having a good week.

Today im sharing some quirky fun Christmas cards.  I've used the Donkey stamp from the Katzelkraft farm animals stamp set.  I left him mostly white so he stands out against the colourful backgrounds.

6x5.5" Cardbase. I first die cut the Polaroid frame from white card, on the centre panel that pops out i stamped the donkey and then using distress inks blended the inks onto the panel.  I then stenciled silver paint through a dots stencil and then white peal drops for snow.
I stamped the donkey again and cut out the main body and added on top with glue gel, lining up with his legs and tail.  I stamped, coloured and cut out a Christmas hat, sunglasses and bow tie from the Tim Holtz crazy birds accessories stamp set. I added light shading to the donkey with grey markers.
I mounted the Polaroid frame onto silver holographic mirri card.  I embossed a panel of white card with a snowflake embossing folder, added some stamped ink splashes in the same colours i used on the donkey background.  Mounted the panel onto holographic card and added to the card front.

Computer printed sentiment, die cut into an oval and again mounted onto a holographic silver oval. Glitter dots to embellish and finish.

Close up, you can see the silver stenciled dots better here when the light hits them.  I used twisted citron, ripe persimmon & evergreen bough distress inks.

The same but a different colour combo. This one is twisted citron, evergreen bough & seedless preserve.

This one is picked raspberry, peacock feathers and dusty concord distress inks. I just blended them onto the craftUk ltd linen card with stencil brushes.

Just a close up,  i added glossy accents to the sunglasses and glitter to the fluffy parts on the Christmas hats.

and looking back i see i haven't uploaded the birthday card i made for my brothers birthday back in September which actually inspired this set of cards

I first made a background using brusho's, pixie powders & salt, i stamped the donkey and as above die cut a Polaroid frame and added the donkey on top, i kept him white so he stood out against the bright background. Stamped the sentiment, mounted onto black card.  I added a panel of the same brusho background at a wonky angle onto white card, black card and then the base case.  Black enamel drops to finish.  My family loved it hence the batch of Christmas cards. My brother has 2 donkeys, an old one Bengy that the children love riding and last year he took on a young one Oscar who is settling down.

A close up of the background, you can see the 'cells' the chunky salt leaves in the brushos - for more details on the technique you can find it here (salt background)

A Flock of Crazy Birds

Good Morning All, i hope you are all having a good week.

So today i am sharing a batch of crazy birds.  Back when i wasn't really crafting i was playing around with my various mediums, stamps and stencils with my crazy bird stamps.  Sometimes its fun to just let loose and play, learning how mediums work together or not.

I first stamped the birds and doodled some simple scenes and extras like flower, butterflies and masked them all with drawing gum.  Once that was dry i got out the brushos & pixie powders for the backgrounds.  Again once the background was dry i dug out my stencils and masks and used starlight paints to stencil on extra metallic details. Once dry remove all drawing gum.

Stamp and colour the birds with distress inks, just cut out the main body and shape it, using glue gel place them onto the panels, lining up with their legs.  Then use distress ink to add the grass and colour the flowers etc.  Shade around the birds with charcoal pencil to add shadow and depth.  Then mount them into the Polaroid frames.

Close up, you can just about see the sparkle of the red starlights in the background.  I coloured these birds with cracked pistachio, lucky clover & salty ocean.

Different colour combination which gives a completely different look.  I used blues and purple brushos and pixie powers for the backgrounds and stenciled in silver.

I coloured this batch of cards in squeezed lemonade and ripe persimmon.  You can see the purple pixie powder and the silver stenciled flowers.  I added glossy accents to all the eyes.

I had great fun just getting inky and trying out new mediums together, not really with an end plan, but in the end turned these into simple cards, as the toppers are so busy and colourful Ive kept the card bases very plain.

Black A5 card blanks, computer printed sentiments onto white card which is matted onto the black base, i mounted the Polaroid frames onto black card and mounted on 3D foam onto the base card.  I wanted the sentiments to be as quirky as the images so used a mix of capital and lower alphas.

Items used:
Tim Holtz Crazy bird stamps
Sizzix Polaroid Frame dies
Brusho Powders
Cosmic Shimmer Pixie Powders
Imagination Crafts starlight paints
Tim Holtz Distress inks
Stencils:
Tim Holtz 'shatter - THS014'
Sheena Douglass 'Wildflowers & sunburst'
The crafters workshop 'mod circles - TCW424'

SMILE Family portraits!

Good Morning all, i hope you have all had a good week and those that haven't been well are on the mend.

So today I'm sharing the second outing of my Tim Holtz crazy mini cats and dog stamps.  I went with the idea of family photos on the wall.  This time instead of colouring the cats and dogs I left them white and went with a bright background.

First i stamped the cat/dog, and drew in a little background scene using a black fine liner, i then masked the images with pebeo drawing gum, once that was dry i built up the colour with distress inks, this one is ripe persimmon and cracked pistachio.  I then splashed on water and where it dries gives a mottled effect.

I then stamped over the top in grey using Stampin up Dictionary definition stamp to add detail. Once dry remove the drawing gum and shade around the images using a soft grey pencil to add more depth.

Close up to show the detail better

This version is twisted citron and picked raspberry inks. Different from the cats is that i used a pale lilac marker on the dogs noses and collars.

This version is salty ocean and wild honey inks, where they meet gives the 3rd colour of green.

Smile is a sizzix die cut in the same colours of ink and a black shadow added.  Craft wire and gems to add the picture hangings.

and showing one of the inserts, i stamped all of them in grey with the same cats/dogs i used on the card front.  A5 cards in size.

Thank you for looking and all your comments on my last uploads.  Wishing you all a wonderful weekend. Emma

Crazy pups & kitties

Morning Everyone

So today im sharing a box set i made with the Tim Holtz mini crazy cats and dogs.  My first outing for most of them, had fun colouring them in crazy colours to add a splash of colour to mainly black and white cards.

After making the box and lid i covered it with white panels which id stamped the cats and dogs on, 12 cards to a box with envelopes

below is a close up of some of the cards

A6 black card blank, clearly besotted sentiment stamps, i did a mix of sentiments for the box and 6 cats and 6 dogs.  For the toppers i used sizzix Polaroid dies, cut in white, i then stamped and coloured the images onto the middle section, layered back into the frame and mounted on black cardstock.

Below showing the full menagerie! All watercoloured with distress inks, some i doodled a little scene to ground them, a couple of the cats with butterflies, i just used a black micron pen for that.  I shaded around them with a light grey promarker and also the outside edge to give depth in the frame.  Had great fun going crazy with the colour combos. Glossy accents on all noses and eyes.

Distress inks used, squeezed lemonade, wild honey, ripe persimmon, salty ocean, twisted citroen, raspberry, cracked pistachio, clover, seedless preserve, fired brick, peacock, shaded lilac.

Thank you for looking. Emma

British Bulldog Male Birthday card

Good Morning everyone.

So today Im Sharing the second card i made for my brothers birthday.  Santa Claus was very good to me this year as Ive had the Tim Holtz Crazy birds, dog and cat stamps on my wish list forever.  So this is my first use of them.

My brother has a British bulldog tattoo so thought this was apt for something different.  Very Old papermania portobello papers (knew they would come in useful one day!), Sizzix Polaroid frames.

I first stamped the dog in blue ink onto the larger polaroid centre and inked around the edges in blue, clearly besotted sentiment stamp.  I stamped the dog in blue and coloured with distress inks, fired brick, tea dye and old paper. I stamped the bone, food, lead and ball in blue and coloured with the same distress inks and cut them all out. Glossy accents on the ball, food and his collar.  All matted with navy and white cardstock.

and a second one for my box, similar but different.

Thank you for looking. Emma
