Big 40

Good Morning everyone

The 2nd card i made for my sister-in-laws 40th  birthday for my parents to give her.  I started with this gorgeous teal daisy paper as its just her colour and teamed it up with rose gold glitter card which picks up on the pinky flower centres.

6x6" white card base.  I die cut the scalloped edge die from the  bottom front edge, die cut the same edge die from a piece of patterned paper from which Id hand cut (bit wonky😁) large 40 numerals, i then used 2mm foam tape to adhered this to rose gold glitter card and then the card front.  I added the middle pieces from the numbers back in place with more foam tape.

To the top edge i added a small strip of white card and the rose gold glitter card to help frame it.  Stamped sentiment to finish.

Showing it side on

and how it looks closed, i added a piece of the paper and rose gold glitter to the inside back of the card so you can see it when the card is closed - sadly the photos don't pick up just how sparkly this glitter card is.

Thank you for all your lovely positive comments on my never ending card for my sis-in-law, I appreciate them all.

Items Used:
Make&create paper from the works 'lovely flowers'
Crafters companion rose gold glitter card

Kirstys Birthday

Good Morning everyone

Today im sharing a card i made for my Sister-in-laws birthday.  Her fav colour is orange so i used this lovely orange floral paper from a 12x12 pad from the works and teamed it up with a cream cardstock so a bit softer than white.

I made a 6x6" card blank from light cream cardstock, with the fold at the top i die cut the spellbinders fancy edge die from the card front.  I cut a piece of p.paper slightly smaller and die cut the fancy edge and inlay and then adhered it to the card front.

I added a strip of the cream card across the top edge and added alphas die cut from the same p.paper.  Birthday sentiment die cut from copper satin mirri card to finish.

This shows the card closed, to the inside of the back of the card i added another strip of the p.paper so that when the card is closed you can see it - you can make out the sentiment a bit better on this photo too

Just showing it stood up side on

Items Used:
Spellbinder dies
Memory box alpha dies
Sizzix sentiment die
12x12 Paper pad from the works 'nature is my home'

Christmas Turkey

Good Morning everyone

Today is a fun card using turkey stamped images a lovely craft friend sent me a little while back.  I thought they would be ideal for a card for my brother as he rears a few turkeys each year.  Ive made a DL fold back design.

White DL (approx 4x8") card with the fold on the side.  I first Covered the card with a soft beige patterned paper and die cut curvy stitched borders for the ground from deep red christmas papers.  I inked all the edges with distress ink.

I watercoloured the images with inktense pencils, cut them out and arranged on the card front with glue gel.  I die cut the sentiment into an oval and added to the base.  Glossy accents added to their eyes to finish.

How it opens up to show the other turkeys who are out on strike with their placards

Items Used:
Hobbyart stamps 'CS136D'  Daryl the quirky turkey
MFT stitched edge dies
Oval die
12x12 christmas paper pad from the works
Distress inks ' forest moss, chipped sapphire'
Derwent Inktense pencils
Ranger glossy accents

Thank you all for stopping by once again.  I hope its a good end to the week and weekend for you all.  Hugs Emmaxx

Lots of flowers

Good Morning everyone

I was given this flower stamp for Christmas so this is its first outing for 2 cards, I have paper pieced the flowers.

Approx size 6x5".   First i stamped the flowers onto 2 pieces of white card and then onto some patterned papers.  I folded purple card in half for my cardbase and die cut the edge of the card front with a curved scallop die, i then die cut the white panel with the same die.  I went around the flowers on the white one with blue ink and coloured the leaves with green wink of stella pen and then mounted this panel with foam tape onto the purple base.
I then cut out all the flowers on the papers and added them to the main images, most i glued on flat but the larger flower i added some shape and attached with glue gel for some dimension. Gems added to the centres and stamped greeting to finish.

I added a coloured insert that peeks through the front of the card

Showing how it stands up on the scalloped edge

Anyone who's paper pieced knows you end up with several pieces after stamping on various different papers so can easily make a couple of cards or more in one go.

sentiment stamps
MFT scalloped edge die
Ombre paper pad
Mint green wink of stella pen
Salty ocean distress ink
Glitter glue & gems

In the mood for dancing

Good Morning everyone, i hope you are having a good week.  An interesting week for all of you who have children going back to school - i hope its going well.

Todays card is another fold back DL (slimline) After making an 8x8" card from a sheet of A3 i have a DL size left which is quite good.

Card approx 4x8" , i folded the front of the card back on itself -  I like doing that at the moment as it gives me more room to build a scene. I covered with a soft pastel cloud effect paper &  die cut both end edges with a scalloped edge die.  I then mixed some white mica powder in with a clear medium and put through a cow print stencil onto the background - you can see the mica more when the light hits it.....im trying to find ways to use all the pots of mica i collected many years ago and this seems to work quite well.
I stamped my cows and coloured with inktense pencils and then cut them out.  I stamped the quote and cut it up, i cut some curved borders from a green paper to use as grass and i then arranged them all on my base. I doodled in a little grass under my cows and a few glitter and glossy accent highlights to finish.

Showing how the rest of my scene carries on behind the front panel

just a close up, you can see the glossy mica stencilling behind my cow

and showing what it looks like from above

Items Used:
Paperartsy Zinskiart stamps (cows) ZA42
MFT scalloped edge dies & curved edge dies
Patterned papers
Cow print stencil ( or leopard😁)
Clear gloss medium
White mica powder
Derwent Inktense pencils
Diamond Stickles
Glossy accents

Thank you for stopping by once again. I hope you enjoy the rest of the week, we've had a few days revamping the garden, taking out old past it bushes, im trying to get it all sorted before all 'my' hedgehogs start going into hibernation....  Hugs Emmax

In the garden

Good Morning everyone, i hope you had a good weekend - boy did it rain!

DL card (approx 4x8")  I cut a scalloped edge (yep its not very even/straight - i blame the heat when making it😀) I then got stamping with my paperartsy flower stamps & carabelle Zinouk in the garden to create a scene.  I added a little water colour and doodled in some ground for them to stand on.  I wanted the middle sunflower to have a longer stem to when i stamped it i didn't ink the very end of the stem so i then took a fine liner pen to extend it to make a nice tall sunflower.  I stamped some dragonflies.
I splashed some of the inks i used to colour my images onto the background too - i know im doing that alot at the moment but for me personally it just softens all the white without having too busy a background.

I then stamped the flower heads and zinouk onto white card, i then watercoloured the heads with wink of stella pens so they have a lovely shimmer.  I then cut the coloured flower heads out, using a craft knife to cut around the inside design part, i then used glue gel to decoupage them over the ones on the main panel.

I cut Zinouk out and left her uncoloured so she stands out in a bright colourful garden, i gently curved her to add shape and attached with glue gel.  I did give her more of a smile with a fine liner pen as she is a bit moody otherwise😀

You can see the depth on my flowers better here, i added a piece of paper similar colours to those on the front to the inside after cutting it with the scalloped edge die.

Items Used:
Paperartsy stamps Zinskiart ZA38
Carabelle Stamps SA60158 'Zinouk du jardin'
Lavinia dragonfly stamps
Clearly besotted sentiment stamp
MFT scalloped edge die
Wink of stella pens
CraftUK smooth white card
Ombre pattern paper

Thank you for all stopping by once again.  I hope its a good week for you. Hugs Emmax

Elephant birthday

Good Morning everyone.  Aren't we having beautiful weather - seems like summer. Hay making has begun so its all go down on the farm.

Today im sharing a couple of birthday cards, i made the first one for my sister in laws birthday and then one for the box.  She's more into muted tones so ive gone with soft pastel papers and pearl card.

6x6 card. I made my card base from grey pearl cardstock and rounded the corners as felt that tied in with the rounded elephant.  I then die cut the circle burst from the middle of the card nearer the top edge.  Using papers from the same pad i stamped and cut out elephant and die cut a curved border die - into this panel i also used a swirly stitched die - it just adds pretty stitched detail without any cutting lines.  I stamped my sentiment in black.

I mounted my elephant with glue gel and added glossy accents to her eye.  The elephant stamp has foliage on her head - i cut that off and used as little trees sticking them following the curved edge of my 'ground'.

Showing it side on so you can see how the light shines through the circle burst cut into the front.  I Used a soft cream for my insert to tone in with the papers.

Version two has slightly more colour but papers still from the same paper pad teamed up with a soft gold pearl cardstock.

Made exactly the same way as the first one.  This time i used a soft pink pearl paper for the insert.  No bling as i felt all the pearl card had enough shimmer this time.

Just an elephant close up.  I actually decoupaged the head on them both and added a little shading with a grey pen.

Items Used:
Paperartsy Zinksiart stamps 'ZA38'
Memory box large circle burst die
Spellbinders curved border die
Stitched line die
Poundland papers -  'changing seasons'

Thank you all for stopping by once again.  I hope you are coping ok. Stay safe & keep cool. Hugs Emmax

Triangle Trees

Hello everyone, thank you for stopping by once again.

Now i normally don't even think about Christmas cards until August/September but when i was playing the other day with my triangle dies and my marbled papers i was laying out the triangles in various ways to see what i liked and one of them looked like a tree i thought, so made a couple up.I think come September i shall make a few more.

5x7white cardbase.  I die cut a mixture of the small and large triangles from my marbled paper and the fancy top layer from white card and adhered together.  I cut a piece of white card smaller than the card front and dry embossed with a snowfall EF, i splashed on some of the same inks i used on the marbled paper.  I layered onto a piece of purple card and then the cardbase.

On a piece of white card i die cut a curved border edge die and a stitched line die.  I stamped the sentiment using colbalt archival ink.  I then die cut a few stars from the little left over pieces of marbled paper. I added one of the larger stars on top of the tree.  A few touches of glitter glue to finish.

A close up showing my pink, purple & blue marbled paper better.

Second version using marbled paper in blues & greens.

Items Used:
Altenew Shattered Triangle die set
Star dies
Stitched Curved border edge dies
Justrite sentiment stamps
Aquatint inks
crafters companion snow embossing folder
