Alice is 7

Good Morning everyone, i hope you had a good weekend

My niece Alice is 7 this week so these are the 2 cards ive made for her.

8x8" card.  A friend sent me these stamped space people last year and i found a space background in my stash so i decided to make a shaker card.

I picked up on the colours in the background and went with a soft turquoise and rich plum pearl and white linen cardstock and my grand circle dies to die cut a frame for the card front.  I embossed the plum pearl with a dotty embossing folder, adhered them all together and glued acetate to the back.

I coloured the space characters, plants, rocket, stars with alcohol markers. I adhered the background paper to my card front and attached the stamped images, using glue gel for the space people.

I added foam tape to the back of the frame, making sure to leave no gaps.  I sprinkled in sequins, glitter and gems and added the frame on top to seal it all in.  Computer printed sentiment to finish.

Items Used:
Spacepeople stamps - brand unknown
Crafters companion 8x8 spot embossing folder
Art by marlene paper pad 'out of this world'
CraftUk ltd white linen cardstock
Shaker bits

and card 2

A5 white cardbase.  I found this fab rainbow zebra paper in a pad and as Alice and family have just taken on a new horse i thought it ideal and a bit different.  I cut out 3 zebras from the 12x12 paper.  I took 2 happy birthday print backgrounds in pale green and lilac picking up on the colours in the zebras and matted them onto pink glitter card with a panel of white strip embossed cardstock and layered onto the card front.

I added the zebras with glue gel and computer printed sentiment die cut into a circle to finish.  I didn't add a separate birthday sentiment as i have the birthday printed cardstock for the background.  Glitter glue highlights to finish.

Items Used:
Crafts you create 12x12 paper pad 'down in the jungle'
Sizzix diagonal strip embossing folder
Anna Marie Birthday printed card
Ranger stickles 'twinkle'
B&M pink glitter card

Thank you all for stopping by and taking the time to read by little blog and leave comments. Waving hello to all my email followers.  Have a great week everyone.  Hugs Emmaxxx

Fish bowl shaker card

Good Morning everyone

Today is a shaker card i made using up left over weird fish that i used on my brothers birthday card back in January.  I decided to make it a fish bowl shape for a bit of fun

Approx size 7"  I used large circle dies and a craft knife to cut a basic fish bowl shape from white cardstock and a matching frame.  I lined the solid shape with a sea themed paper and arranged the fish and seaweed in place.  I added acetate to the back of the white frame and added foam tape around the edge and added shaker bits to the middle........i rarely get it right, either too much or too little, in this case too much so its buried some of the bottom fish😁
I then added the frame and a stamped sentiment die cut into ovals.

The fish had previously been stamped, watercoloured with oxide inks, glossy accents on the eyes and then cut out.  The seaweed & starfish had previously been stamped with ombre ink pads and cut out.

If you look carefully there is a mermaid in the background, i arranged the fish so that they didn't hide her face.  For the shaker bits i used a mix of sequins, seed beads and faux ice so it gives a very satisfying rattle noise.

Items Used:
Funky Fossil stamps 'weird fish'
Seaweed stamp
Pink ink Starfish stamp
Spellbinders grand circle dies
Spellbinders oval dies
The works 12x12 Paper pad 'feeling fresh'
Distress Oxide inks
Glossy accents
Sequins & Beads

Thank you for stopping by once again.  I hope you all have a good week. Hugs Emmax

Christmas cats

Good Morning Everyone

Today is another Christmas card.  A little Christmas window shaker card

A5 Cream card base, i cut a panel of cream card slightly smaller than the card front and die cut the window die from it - i then cut the die again from black glitter cardstock, i added acetate behind the cream frame and glued the black window die cut into place and stamped my greeting.  To the back of the acetate i added pink paint pen behind the curtains and yellow behind the house windows and white snow falling, i added foam tape around the edges.

On a piece of white card i added aquatint inks to give a blue snowy sky feel and yellow lamp light, this is quite random how the inks dry but i was trying to keep more blue behind where the houses would be and yellow nearer to the lamp...  I added this panel to the middle of the cardfront.  I then added shaker elements and placed the window panel over the top.

I die cut another cat from left over piece of the black glitter card to finish.

Hopefully you can just make out the black glitter card, its very subtle

Items Used:
Christmas cat window die - hobbycraft (I think!)
Sentiment stamp
Ivory embossed cardstock
Black glitter cardstock (jellybean crafts)
Hunkydory acetate
Daler rowney Paint pens, white, yellow & pink
Aquatints - blues & yellows
Shaker bits - sequins, glitter

Thank you all for stopping by once again.  I hope you have a good week. Hugs Emmaxxx

Wedding Shaker Card

Good Morning everyone.  Phew its hot - i hope you are enjoying it, for me its hibernation in front of the fans crafting...i have a tower fan so my old cat takes the bottom half and i get the top half😁

Hopefully its 3rd time lucky for this wedding to go ahead,  my friend is fed up of rearranging it all now.

6x6 white pearl cardbase.  I took pieces of purple & white pearl cardstock cut to fit the front and die cut heart apertures from the middle, the heart on the white panel larger to have the purple one showing through.  I embossed the white panel. I glued them together and added acetate to the back and then foam tape.  I added purple sequins, micro beads & glitter and attached the heart panel to the front of my card.
I computer printed my sentiment onto more of the white pearl card and die cut into a heart and added to the middle of my acetate heart.  I finished with purple handmade flowers and silver die cut foliage.

Close up of the shaker - the roses were handmade for me years ago by a lovely craft friend - they are gorgeous  and i use them sparingly 😁

Items Used:
Heart nesting dies
Foliage dies
Swirl embossing folder
White & Purple pearl cardstocks
Silver mirri card
Acetate

Thank you all for stopping by once again, i hope you all have a good week. Keep cool.  Hugs Emmax

Turtle shaker card

Good Morning all

Now this card has swam to its new home i can share it. Its the last project for now with the fab pink ink turtle stamps.  Ive made a shaker card for a friends birthday.

From navy cardstock using spellbinders grand labels 4 i made my cardbase, then die cut a frame from white card and attached acetate to the back and then foam tape.  I cut a panel from blue brusho inked cardstock and stamped some fish and seaweed, i attached this to the middle of my navy base case, added micro beads, sequins and glitter for my shaker bits and then added my white acetate panel on top.
I then stamped the turtles and coloured with inktense pencils and cut out.  The shells were stamped onto scraps of paper and cut out. Seaweed stamped with an ombre inkpad and also black and cut out.  I then got arranging my scene.  Stamped sentiment cut out for finish.

A close up on my turtle, i added glossy accents to the turtle shells.

This shows how the cardbase is constructed.  I took one of the navy labels 4 and folded in half longways, i then attached a second one to the front.

Items Used:
Pink Ink stamp - sea turtle
Spellbinders grand labels 4 dies
Brusho's
Inktense pencils

Thank you all for stopping by.  I hope you  all have a good week.  Hugs Emmax

Shaker Christmas cards

Morning everyone.

Today is a set of Christmas shaker cards.  This year Ive made an effort to use up old paper pads, so this one is from bobunny and a christmas woodland theme in blues and browns, i teamed it with white pearl card and silver mirror card.

Approx 6x6" in size.  I first die cut spellbinders grand label one from white pearl card and folded in half for my base card.  I layered with a piece of paper cut with a smaller label 1, i cut this in half and glued to the front and back of my card.  I then die cut the snowflake circle die from white pearl card and used a circle die to cut around the outside so it becomes a circular frame, i then attached a die cut acetate circle to the back & die cut a circle frame the same size out of funky foam which i glued to the back for my shaker element - just easier to stick than foam tape to a circle leaving no gaps.

I die cut the girl panel from white pearl card and silver mirror card and offset so that some of the silver shows at the top, a circle from the paper pad and a larger white circle.  I glued the girl onto the paper panel  and added micro beads, silver sequins and glitter for my shaker bits and attached my snowflake frame over the top.  I then mounted onto the larger circle and my cardfront.

Stamped greeting die cut into a fishtail banner, snowflakes die cut from silver mirror card and a dazzle gem for the centres to finish.

Just adding that little bit of silver behind the girl helps her stand out from the background, she reminds me of my little nieces out catching snowflakes as they are so rare to see here in Cornwall

A close up of my shaker

Different papers same design

This one shows how the card base stands up easily.

and with the negative middle piece that falls out from the snowflake circle frame i made some very simple gift tags for my presents
I stamped a sentiment on the circle in black and some snowflakes in grey ink and mounted onto a larger circle die cut from patterned papers.  Set an eyelet and added some ribbon and glitter glue highlights to finish.

Items Used:
Bobunny Sleigh ride paper pad
Girl snowflake frame die - brand unknown
Spellbinders grand lables 1 & circle dies
Memory box snowflake dies
MFT fishtail banner die
Clearly besotted sentiment stamp
Creative expressions dazzler gems
White pearl cardstock
Silver mirror card

Thank you all for stopping by, i hope you have a good rest of the week as we prepare for another lockdown.  Weather isn't too good so more crafting for me.  Stay safe. Hugs Emmax

Good Morning everyone, thank you for the amazing comments on my bee card , today im sharing the 2nd card i made with the awesome bee.  This time its a shaker card.

I die cut a hexagon from patterned paper and then die cut the tim holtz mixed media die from the top right, i backed with acetate and foam tape, i filled with micro beads, glitter & sequins and backed with another piece of paper from the same paper pad.  This i mounted onto kraft card and then my white base card - all cut into a hexagon.

I stamped the bees onto white card and water coloured with distress inks, adding a touch of yellow wink of stella pen over the top for some shimmer.  I stamped the wings onto vellum, cut them all out, attached the wings to the bodies and arranged on my card front with glue gel.  Stamped words cut out and mounted onto paper to finish.

Charlotte is 1

Good Morning everyone, i hope you had a good weekend

This week my youngest niece will be 1 - not sure where that years gone to😀 - the first card is a shaker card

6x6 purple cardbase.  Using serif craft artist i used a digi kit (daisytrail elephant memories) to design the background with a soft lilac paper, the elephant and sentiment, i made the 1 nice and large and with an inside line, after printing out i carefully cut around the inside on the number 1 following the inner line with a craft knife.   I backed with acetate and used 3d foam tape on the whole back of the card apart from where the 1 is.  I filled the shaker pocket with micro beads, glitter & sequins and backed with silver holographic card and then attached to the card front.
I printed out the elephant a 2nd time, fussy cut out and decoupaged over the first one and added some glossy accents to his eyes and balloons.

Whenever i make something for the children i make sure it is all super well stuck and no chance of just falling apart - especially if it has small pieces - so by using foam tape on the whole of the back of this card it has no chance of micro beads or sequins leaking out into small hands and mouths

just a close up of the shaker pocket - you can really see the silver holographic card in the background sparkling.

and onto card 2 for my parents to give - a very simple one

6x6 white cardbase.  I matted a hobby house topper onto pink glitter card, then found a paper in my stash in pinks & greens to pick up on the topper colours - plus i didn't want a pink overload - matted onto pink glitter card and then the base, i rounded all corners as i went.  Computer printed sentiments die cut into circles, pink inked edges.  I added touches of glitter glue to the topper to finish.

Items Used:
Daisytrail digikit elephant memories
Serif craft artitst software
Hobbyhouse topper
Silver holographic card - B&M
PInk Glitter card - B&M
Patterened paper from stash
Purple card - payper box
Micro beads, glitter & sequins

Thank you all for stopping by once again and waving hello to all my followers.  I hope its a good week for you all.  Hugs Emmaxx
