Sun, Sea & Sand

Good Morning everyone

Welcome to July and a new challenge over at we love stamping

with the theme this month being Sun, Sea &/or Sand or you can go with the anything goes option.

I decided to dig out my Katzelkraft flamingo stamp - every time i see these guys they make me think they are about to break into doing the can-can

5x7" card base.  See pic below for how i did the background.  I then stamped the flamingos onto white card, watercoloured with distress inks, cut out and arranged them.  Using a light brown fine liner pen i added a little shadow under each flamingo.  I inked the edge of the card with stormy skies & vintage photo distress inks.

Im trying to use old 6x6 paper pads, here i used 'coastal escape' by kaisercraft.  I took a light blue paper for the sky and die cut memory box 'circle burst' into it, behind the circle i added a yellow paper from my stash to act as the sun.
I took a different blue paper for the sea and tore the bottom edge, behind this bottom edge i added a torn strip from a different blue paper to give the effect of waves.  One paper had this fab print of the sand with the water coming in which i added the edge under the blue layer so it looked like the water is over the sand.
I then tore some more pieces from the sand print paper for the front layers.  I then stamped the sentiment with dark blue ink.
I rounded the top corners as felt it picked up the roundness of the sun

Up close of the flamingos - I added a small dot of stickles glitter glue to their head dresses for a little sparkle - I used 'twinkle' stickles which is clear with a purple undertone so ideal for these pinky purple flamingos

and the inside.  I again used papers and elements from the same paper pad.  I had one flamingo left which i added on top of a sentiment strip which reads
'Let the waves hit your feet & the sand be your seat'

Items Used:
Katzelkraft flamingo stamp
Katzelkraft stamps 'carpe diem quotes'
Memory box die 'circle burst'
Kaisercraft paper pad 'coastal escape'
Ranger stickles 'twinkle'
Distress Inks 'picked raspberry, seedless preserve, ripe persimmon, wild honey, twisted citron, tumbled glass, stormy skies, vintage photo'

The prizes for this month are

Birthday Cake

 Morning everyone.

Today im sharing a card that i made for a good friends birthday, she actually sent me the lovely stamp as a gift so this is my first outing for the lovely lady.  Ive used papers all from the same pad and added in chocolate mirri card and gold glitter card.

7x7 scalloped cardbase.  I rounded the corners on a piece of pink floral paper and attached to chocolate brown mirri card and then the cardbase.  I stamped my image onto white card and some of the patterned papers which i then used to paper piece on the base image.  I doodled in some ground with a black fine liner and then die cut into an oval and mounted onto chocolate mirri card.

I then die cut foliage from gold glitter card and the chocolate mirri card and arranged with some pink ready made flowers.  Stamped greeting, glitter glue and pink enamel drops to finish.

Close up on my little lady, i used alcohol markers on her hair and skin.  A very different image from my usual style and pink - most definately not a colour i use often😄 but i really enjoyed making this card.

Items Used:
Stamping Bella stamp

A Mixed Medley

Good Morning everyone.

Today im sharing a mix of cards i made last year and didn't get around to sharing.

6x6 Ivory card base.   I used papers from kaisercraft , all matted onto a dark green cardstock.  I stamped the greeting onto a die cut oval from the same preembossed ivory card i used for the base. Flower die cut from a chocolate paper from the pad. Green pearls to finish.  I followed a sketch by a friend.
Papers are: Kasiercraft 'Botanica'

A close up on the flower.

This one uses the same flower die as the one above.  I die cut a tag from white linen card and then die cut the spellbinders die in it, i them die cut the same die from black card, added it over the top of the white version and inlaid it back into the tag.  I mounted this onto gold mirror card coloured with red alcohol inks.  Then onto black card and a white card base cut to a tag shape.

Flower die cut from the gold mirror card coloured with red alcohol inks. Black gem for the centre.  Stamped greeting die cut into a small oval to finish.
This photo shows the mirror card up better, adding a couple of different colours of alcohol inks to the the mirror card you get a nice marbled effect.

6x6 black cardbase.  Using a floral stencil i used blue glitter texture paste multiple times onto black cardstock.  Once dry - best left over night die cut into a hexagon.  Mounted onto orange card and black base card.

from the orange gemstones core-dinations card i die cut butterflies the green circle and white banner were also cut from the gemstones card - it has a subtle shimmer.  Stamped greeting and gems added to finish. I think the stencil is imagination crafts.

This shows the colour of the texture paste better, it really is very glittery in the light.

A New HOme card, using papers all from the same paper pad, mounted onto a dark green cardstock, i followed a sketch by a friend.  The little houses on the main panel i cut out from a spare piece and decoupaged on top to add a little depth.
Papers are American Craft - Amy tangerine 'Yes Please'

Another one following a friends sketch.  last year my craft resolution was to try and do different layouts, i did start off well before falling back on my old tried and tested layouts, i shall again this year try and do different layouts again.  This one uses papers all from the same pad.  All mounted on navy blue cardstock.  Die cut birthday sentiment and little flower from white linen card.  Twine and gems to finish.
Papers are: My Minds Eye 'collectable - remarkable'

And lastly another one following a sketch - 5x7 in size.  Autumnal papers mounted onto brown cardstock and white linen card.  I die cut the focal point using a thin stitched die 3 times from the same piece of paper and lined them up again on the front so that the pattern in the paper is complete.  Twine embellishment and die cut sentiment to finish.  This one is papers from poundland - 'changing seasons'

All At Sea - Shaker card

Morning all, well its time for another new challenge over at Cardz4guyz

with the theme for the next fortnight being:

ALL AT SEA

I decided to go with a looking out through  a porthole into the deep sea and make a shaker card.

6x6 White cardblank.  I added woodpanel paper onto brown cardstock and then to the card front.   I added a strip of rope pattern paper across the middle and copper effect screw brads in the corners.

To make my shaker i first die cut a frame from metal rust effect paper and backed with a circle of acetate.  Then added foam tape around the frame.  I die cut an octopus and coloured him with orange starlight paint so he shimmers in the light.  I die cut some fish and seaweed from scraps of inked cardstock.  I then added clear micro beads and tiny silver and blue sequins, then backed with a blue water paper.

I then added the shaker to the front and a sentiment sticker.  I added bronze viva pearl drops around the shaker frame to act as rivets.

Close up showing the shaker better

And the cute octopus, the starlights paint really shimmers in the light.

Ice Cream - hobby house image

Good Morning everyone.

Time for a new challenge over at Make My Monday, the theme this fortnight picked by me is very apt for the weather i think and is:

ICE CREAM
Use either ice cream images or just Ice cream colours

Think - mint chocolate chip, raspberry ripple, peach melba, banana split etc,

I went with Ice cream colours of Peach Melba, so peach and raspberry combo.

6x6 white scalloped card blank. I found this lovely pre coloured hobby house image in my stash, the perfect colours of peach and raspberry.  I matted it onto a maroon fancy circle die cut. I matted a pink pattern paper onto maroon and onto the card base.  Then a panel of peach paper, again matted onto maroon and i added it over hanging the cardbase to add interest.

Die cut sentiment from white and maroon, which i offset for a shadow and added on the topper, i added clear glitter to the sentiment and the topper, looks like a sugar frosting.  Ready made paper flowers, peach beads on wire to embellish.

A close up of the floral arrangement.

Items Used:
Kasiercraft paper pad 'cherry blossom'
Hobby House Topper
Ready made paper flowers
Beads on wires
Spellbinders large circle die

So please do hop over to Make my monday to join in and just see what everyone comes up with.

I hope you all have a good week, looks like its going to be a hot one here. Emma

Its A Double Diamond Christmas

Good Morning everyone and welcome to a new week. I hope you are all keeping warm and those of you with that nasty cough and cold are on the mend.

So today i am sharing a set of double diamond fold cards i made for Christmas.  These are really fiddly to make up, although i use a die to cut them out. I dug out all those old Christmas papers and sat die cutting for several evenings.

These first two use LOTV nitwit papers.  Using the tattered lace diamond fold die, line it up and cut twice, then carefully using a bone folder manipulate all the score lines until it all comes together.  Then i die cut the papers using the matting dies in the set.

For my embellishments i picked up on the christmas roses and holly in the paper and built up simlar toppers with flower, holly and pine dies.  Pearls to finish.

This one is the opposite colours with buttons to finish.  Also shows them standing up easily.

I computer printed the sentiment and die cut and added to the back of the card, plain paper added to the sides to write the message on.

Button Holly.  Picking up on the holly and colours in the LOTV/Nitwit papers.  I die cut the holly from pearl olive and soft gold cardstocks, they matched the paper colours pretty well.  Buttons used as the holly berries.

Just showing the front.

Red & Gold Poinsettia.  Spellbinder poinsettia die cut from ruby red and green cardstock, gently shaped and a pearl centre.  All papers from Kaisercraft 'holy night'  The papers have gold foiling which doesn't show up too well.

 Showing from the front.

and below a fun one with those grumpy penguins again

Katzelkraft grumpy penguin, stamped, coloured and fussy cut out, spellbinders snowflake die cut from white card and added behind the penguins. Papers poundland 'pure frozen', glitter glue to finish.

A Cluster of Diamonds

Good Morning all

Today i am showing a batch of Diamond fold cards, these kept me quiet for a long while!  All using the Tattered Lace Diamond Fold die set.  Very photo heavy so you might like to sit down with a nice cuppa and your fav biscuit😊😊

I used the die to cut twice into the card, like i did for my dad card, this works quite well.  Then folded and scored it all into shape, a bit fiddly but it doesn't eventually come together. I rounded the corners on this one.  Spellbinders butterflies and gems to finish.  One sheet of 6x6 paper is the ideal size for these cards.

Papers are MME 'Miss Caroline - Dilly Dally'

and showing the back and where i put the sentiment using matching papers.
