A Waddle of Penguins

Good Morning everyone

Back to Christmas cards today and this batch is using up scraps of inky backgrounds and the fab aall&create penguin stamps.

Ive already put these away but  I think the size was 5x8".  I took a piece of card smaller than the cardbase and stencilled a light pattern with distress inks shaded lilac, cracked pistachio & evergreen bough and added some splashes of the same inks.  Then i used a very old texture paste which has a gold shimmer when the light hits it and put through a snowflake stencil and put to one side to dry.

I stamped and cut out the penguins.  I matted my background onto black card and then the base & stamped my sentiment onto a strip of card, matted onto black and added across the bottom of the card with foam tape.  I then arranged my penguins and adhered with pinflair glue gel.

You can see the soft stencilling in the background here

The texture paste has  a lovely gold shimmer when the light hits it

Version 2

Version 3

and version 4 - in all i made 20 variations

Showing them all stamped up onto left over offcuts of backgrounds made using various inks, brushos, oxide inks, pixie powders

and them all cut out - for me i find cutting out more relaxing than colouring in. Usually when cutting out, I cut upto the line but in this case i found they stood out more against the background by leaving a small border of the colour around them.

Items Used:
aall&create stamps 'penguin #604' & 'frosty #603'
Stampin up sentiment 'curly cute'
Funky fossil stencil - snowflakes
Woodware mini stencil - swirl
Creative expressions texture paste
Distress Inks shaded lilac, cracked pistachio, evergreen bough
CraftUK ltd smooth white cardstock

Thank you all for stopping by.  I hope you all have a good week. Hugs Emmaxx

Pop Art Tulips

Good Morning everyone, i hope you had a good weekend.

Today im sharing a couple of cards made with some of my gelli print backgrounds, teamed up with crafty individual floral stamps, including these spring tulips.  Afterwards i thought they looks a bit like pop art with the bright bold colours.

White Card 8x5"   I first stamped the tulip stamp onto 3 different backgrounds and cut around the outside edge giving me the rectangles.  I then stamped the tulips again on the same inky papers and cut out just the tulip heads which i paper pieced them onto the base images, i coloured the tulip stems with a green alcohol marker.  I matted them onto black card and then my base card with foam tape.

From the gelli print off cuts i managed to get 2 smalls stripes of paper which i matted onto black card and then across the bottom of the card.  My stamped greeting then hides the join. Black gems to finish.

5x6" white card. This is made pretty much the same way, but without paper piecing the flower heads, i just added a little white pen to the them

Using the second flower in this stamp set.

Items Used:
Crafty Individual stamps - CI-185 & CI-388
Katzelkraft quote stamps
Gelli plate
Actylic paints - daley rowney neons, pink ink purple & green pearl
Black & White cardstock
Gel gel pen

Thank you all for stopping by once again.  I hope its a good week for you.  Hugs Emmaxx

Playing with Gelli

Good Morning everyone

For Christmas i was given a Gelli plate which hadn't really been on my to try list but ive been having a little play with it and acrylic paints - still alot of practising to do but ive made a few prints that ive used on these cards, after making the cards i thought i should have taken a photo of the prints first so ive taken photos of the rest of them - see end of post.

5x7" card.  I made this one for my sis in law who's had to have an operation.  This print was neon acrylics in pink and orange, a die cut leaf, punchinella and a stamp. I stamped over the top with this lovely woodware stamp in black, die cut to size with a stitched rectangle die & then die cut a stitched rectangle from the middle at an angle, mounted onto black card, adding the middle panel with foam tape - just to add more interest to the design.
For the background i used a swirl embossing folder, the little coloured strips were off cuts and not wanting to waste them i added them behind my topper panel.  Stamped sentiment to finish..

Version 2 - this print was green pearl paint with a touch of yellow paint and a clarity stamp stencil for just a basic print.  The flower heads i stamped onto a scrap of orange paper and paper pieced.

Version 3 i used one stencil and turned it 3 times with a different colour - pink, orange, yellow neon and green pearl acrylic paints

Version 4 another woodware stamp, print used neon orange, yellow and pink paint. 5x7 white card, i stamped the greeting direct onto the base, matted the topper onto black card and then the base card.

Items Used:
Woodware stamps  wild meadow, lino cut teasels
Sentiment stamps
Double stitched rectangle dies
A4 Swirl embossing folder

Id love to enter the first card into the following:

and onto some of my other prints - some im happy with, others will be a base to work on or cut into, im beginning to get a feel for it and not to add too much paint and Ive found the quality of paint makes a big difference.  Lots more practice to be had......

Using feather & circle rubber stamps, punchinella. Neon pink, orange & pearl purple acrylic paints

clarity leaf & leafy swirl stencils, die cut pointsettias(bottom left), diamond stencil, tim holtz media stamps.  Daler rowney Neon pink, orange, yellow & green paint, deco-art copper metallic paint

lattice and leafy stencils, red, yellow & neon orange paint

This photo shows 3 prints from one, so the first one is the one i was working on, the 2nd one clearing the plate and the 3rd one was the piece i cleaned the brayer & stencils onto. Circle stencil & red & yellow paints

Pebeo yellow and green with a hint of daler rowney orange neon paint. Triangle & lavinia pebble stencils.
