Giant Cupcake Cards

Good Morning everyone.

Today im sharing cupcake shaped cards that ive made for my 2 oldest niece's birthdays. Ive combined pretty papers with lots of glitter card as both love their glitter - well what girl doesn't😁  As their birthdays are within 2 days of each other i tend to make them similar cards to stop arguements.

approx 6x6" in size(without the candle)  I first printed off a cupcake outline to make my own template. To first make my base card i placed the top of the cupcake template over the edge of my card blank and drew around it and cut out.  On another piece of white card i drew around the whole cupcake and attached patterned paper to the bottom half to act as the cupcake wrapper, i then wrapped some ribbon around the attached to the base card.  On another piece of card i drew around the frosting/icing top of the cupcake and cut out, i then dry embossed with embossing folder to add some texture, i added some die cut glitter circles as decoration.
I hand cut a candle and flame, attached to the base and added my icing on top.
I then computer printer my sentiment and die cut into a circle, and added a die cut number to one of the glitter circles.
Just showing it side on standing up.

This is the one i made for the older sister, i also added glitter glue to the flames on the candles.

Just showing them both together.  Who wouldn't love a giant cupcake on their birthday😋

Flowers

Good Morning everyone.  Well i can't believe its the start of the school Easter Holidays.

Today im sharing 4 cards i made using left over paper pieces mainly from the same paper pad.  Also using beautiful Stamping Bella stamps that i won as a prize just before christmas from Di at Pixies snippets blog, thank you Di, these are my first stamping bella stamps and im very impressed with them.

First outing for them is paper piecing which is one of my fav techniques, i do find fussy cutting out relaxing - although not in front of the tv or you might need a trip to the hospital as i did many years ago😀.

6x6 White base card. I die cut a stitched square from white linen card smaller than my cardfront.  I stamped the flowers in black on the white panel where i wanted them.  I then stamped them again  onto various patterned papers and cut them all out.  Using a curved border die and some green paper i cut a piece to fit the bottom of my white square to act as the grass for my flowers to be growing out of. I edged the panel with green ink and attached to the basecard.

I inked the edges of my cut of flowers, curved them and added over the black image with glue gel to give them shape.  I added on some stamped leaves and glitter to the stamens.  Die cut a white sentiment and adhered to the grass panel and mini butterflies to finish.

Made the same way as the first one, just different paper snippets in use and a scalloped 6x6 cardblank.  Hello sentiment.

This one uses the other flower stamp and leaf in the stamp set.  Made the same way as above but this time i stamped the flower onto 2 different papers, so cut out the full flower from the dotty paper and then the centre part from a yellow gingham paper which i added onto with more glue gel for dimension.  I found these leaves a tad too delicate to fussy cut out so i stamped them onto the panel and coloured with pens.

and lastly, this one uses the same papers for the flowers as above, only the yellow gingham for the main and the dotty for the centre.  Get well sentiment.

Floral birthday card

Good Morning all, i hope you are having a good week, especially for those of you amid half term.

So today I am sharing the second card i made for my Sister in law, this one is for my parents to give her.   Luckily my SIL enjoys colour as much as i do so i dug out one of my favourite My Minds Eye paper pads.

7x7 white card blank. Turquoise, olive & magenta cardstock to match the colours in the paper.  After matting the paper onto turquoise and gluing to the blank i die cut a frame, topper and birthday sentiment.  Die cutting lots and lots of cornflowers i then built up the flowers, very time consuming, but worth it.  A little butterfly and turquoise pearls to finish.

Close up of the flowers, each flower has at least 6 layers, but the big one 10 layers with all the 'petals' teased apart to add the frill that real cornflowers have.   I find it therapeutic to sit and make up flowers of an evening in front of the tv.

A second card I made for the box.

Items used:
My Minds Eye - Kate & Co 'Cambridge Court' papers
Sue Wilson - cornflower die set
Sizzix Butterflies - 659971
Mama Elephant - union square die set
