Oranges & Lemons

Good  Morning everyone

I treated myself to this lovely oranges & Lemon stamp set from Studio light as i don't have anything like them in my stash and saw it in a sale.  Nice to go with a fruity theme in the summer

A6 white cardblank.  I stamped the orange image onto white card and die cut with Xstitch banner die which id decided to use on its side.  I watercoloured with inktense pencils, adding a light wash of the blue just around the image and stamped the 'sunshine is the best medicine' sentiment in the bottom corner.

I stamped the image a 2nd time, coloured and cut out the oranges and flowers to decoupage onto the base image

I coloured up 2 smaller banner die cuts with the same colour inktense pencils i used for the image, so one with the oranges and one with the greens.  As these are nesting banner dies they weren't long enough for what i wanted so i cut them in half and added behind my topper in descending size and added to the card front with foam tape.

Just a close up

version 2

approx 5x7" in size.   I stamped & coloured the image and die cut into shape, I stamped the its summertime sentiment in black in the bottom right corner.   I then multi-generation stamped 'its summertime' & 'fun in the sun' over the background with grey ink.  Once again i stamped extra to decoupage the oranges, flowers & a couple of the leaves.

Made a cardblank from white card and dry embossed with a swirl embossing folder.   I found the next size up die from my topper was too big on this occasion so drew around the inside of it onto white card and cut out with scissors, this i then coloured with the same inktense pencils i used on the image.

and onto the lemons

2nd stamp in the set.
card 6x4"  I stamped the image onto white card and die cut into a Xstitch tag and watercoloured with inktense pencils, decoupaged the lemons and flowers and stamped the 'easy peasy lemon squeezy' sentiment from the set with grey ink over the background.

Matted onto green and yellow card and then a white base card, using my guillotine to cut the top corners to match the tag

and version 2

Made the same way just using a different tag shape.  After matting onto yellow i punched a hole and added green, yellow and orange ribbons tied together with a little orange twine. I then mounted onto the shaped base card with 2mm foam tape

So far this summer we haven't had too much orange & lemon growing weather in Cornwall, hopefully we get an Indian summer and lovely September😀

Today is a little get well card using this happy dog image from aall&create and umbrella stencil from funky fossil which i was lucky enough to win in a challenge

Tulips

Good Morning everyone

Today is 2 tulip cards, combining the embossing folder that came free with a magazine with a tulip die and some of my alcohol inked mirror card.

5x5" cards.  I used white pearl cardstock.  First i coloured gold mirror card with tim holtz alcohol inks in shades of red.  I cut a panel to fit my card front, then die cut a circle from the middle of it in the part that would be hidden so that it goes further and no one knows! I embossed a panel of the white pearl card to matt onto the mirror card and then the base card. I die cut the tulips from mirror card, attached to a white pearl die cut circle and then matted that onto the bigger mirror card circle that i'd cut before. I added a little soft colour to the tulips with pencil and then attached it to the base.
Stamped sentiment cut into a circle and mounted onto more of the red mirror card to finish.

Version 2 is purple and blue alcohol inks onto gold mirror card -  the photos don't really do this justice.

Items Used:
Tulip embossing folder - simply cards & papercraft issue213
Paper Rose tulip die
circle dies
Clearly besotted sentiment stamps
White pearl cardstock
Gold mirror card
Tim Holtz alcohol inks

Thank you all for stopping by.  Hugs Emmax

Playing with Gelli

Good Morning everyone

For Christmas i was given a Gelli plate which hadn't really been on my to try list but ive been having a little play with it and acrylic paints - still alot of practising to do but ive made a few prints that ive used on these cards, after making the cards i thought i should have taken a photo of the prints first so ive taken photos of the rest of them - see end of post.

5x7" card.  I made this one for my sis in law who's had to have an operation.  This print was neon acrylics in pink and orange, a die cut leaf, punchinella and a stamp. I stamped over the top with this lovely woodware stamp in black, die cut to size with a stitched rectangle die & then die cut a stitched rectangle from the middle at an angle, mounted onto black card, adding the middle panel with foam tape - just to add more interest to the design.
For the background i used a swirl embossing folder, the little coloured strips were off cuts and not wanting to waste them i added them behind my topper panel.  Stamped sentiment to finish..

Version 2 - this print was green pearl paint with a touch of yellow paint and a clarity stamp stencil for just a basic print.  The flower heads i stamped onto a scrap of orange paper and paper pieced.

Version 3 i used one stencil and turned it 3 times with a different colour - pink, orange, yellow neon and green pearl acrylic paints

Version 4 another woodware stamp, print used neon orange, yellow and pink paint. 5x7 white card, i stamped the greeting direct onto the base, matted the topper onto black card and then the base card.

Items Used:
Woodware stamps  wild meadow, lino cut teasels
Sentiment stamps
Double stitched rectangle dies
A4 Swirl embossing folder

Id love to enter the first card into the following:

and onto some of my other prints - some im happy with, others will be a base to work on or cut into, im beginning to get a feel for it and not to add too much paint and Ive found the quality of paint makes a big difference.  Lots more practice to be had......

Using feather & circle rubber stamps, punchinella. Neon pink, orange & pearl purple acrylic paints

clarity leaf & leafy swirl stencils, die cut pointsettias(bottom left), diamond stencil, tim holtz media stamps.  Daler rowney Neon pink, orange, yellow & green paint, deco-art copper metallic paint

lattice and leafy stencils, red, yellow & neon orange paint

This photo shows 3 prints from one, so the first one is the one i was working on, the 2nd one clearing the plate and the 3rd one was the piece i cleaned the brayer & stencils onto. Circle stencil & red & yellow paints

Pebeo yellow and green with a hint of daler rowney orange neon paint. Triangle & lavinia pebble stencils.

Colouring on kraft

Good Morning all

Today is 2 little cards.  I had strips of this printed kraft card left over and though they would be ideal to colour in, i used my inktense pencils to colour it and Im pleased with the outcome, i have several printed sheets in some paper pads i bought a few years ago in B&M so think i will colour in another one or two

6x5.5" kraft card blanks - i embossed the card blanks with a lovely swirly embossing folder to add a little interest.  I coloured the kraft panel with inktense pencil, adding grey alcohol marker to the background and leaving the kraft card plain for the highlights. I then attached it to the base card. Stamped greeting to finish.

Yep completely flat cards and some colouring in - both very unusual for me😁

Glimmer of light

Good Morning everyone

A card using Visible image glimmer of light stamp set

6x6" scalloped cardbase.  I cut a piece of white card to fit my base and stamped the quote at the top in black ink and then the light bulbs, i then tore a piece of paper to fit around each of them and attached with repositionable glue to mask them off - this was to keep them white and stand out after id inked up my background. I tore the edges as i wanted a more soft look rather than sharp cut edges.
I then blended on distress inks dusty concorde, chipped sapphire and black soot to give a more night time feel but not pure black.  I splashed on a bit of water and dried to give some interest. I then removed all the masks.  I  inked in & around the lightbulbs with wild honey and squeezed lemonade.  Once completely dry i stamped on the small moth stamp with black ink and kept stamping it until no ink left on the stamp so that i had lots of soft moths in the background.
I then took a circle swirl stencil and stencilled through it with gold starlights paint and edged the panel with the gold too - this has an amazing shimmer in the light.  I added glossy accents to my lightbulbs to them a glass light effect and left to dry.  Matted onto black cardstock and then my base card.
I stamped the moths, added slight colour with a blue wash and cut them out and arranged.

This shows the background before i added the moths, you can see the gold circle swirl better.  When i stamped my lightbulbs i didnt ink up the cord of the stamp so that i could then add my own cords with a black fine liner pen and ruler - just gave me more freedom where i wanted them to go.

You can just make out the gloss on the lightbulbs.

Items Used:
Visible Image Glimmer of light stamp set
Circle swirl stencil
Distress Inks - dusty concorde, chipped sapphire, black soot, wild honey, squeezed lemonade
Imagination crafts starlight paint - rich gold
Ranger glossy accents
CraftUk ltd smooth white card
CraftUk ltd 6x6 scalloped card blank

Thank you all for stopping by.  I hope its a goodish week for you all. Stay safe. Hugs Emmaxxx

Lots of flowers

Good Morning everyone

I was given this flower stamp for Christmas so this is its first outing for 2 cards, I have paper pieced the flowers.

Approx size 6x5".   First i stamped the flowers onto 2 pieces of white card and then onto some patterned papers.  I folded purple card in half for my cardbase and die cut the edge of the card front with a curved scallop die, i then die cut the white panel with the same die.  I went around the flowers on the white one with blue ink and coloured the leaves with green wink of stella pen and then mounted this panel with foam tape onto the purple base.
I then cut out all the flowers on the papers and added them to the main images, most i glued on flat but the larger flower i added some shape and attached with glue gel for some dimension. Gems added to the centres and stamped greeting to finish.

I added a coloured insert that peeks through the front of the card

Showing how it stands up on the scalloped edge

sentiment stamps
MFT scalloped edge die
Ombre paper pad
Mint green wink of stella pen
Salty ocean distress ink
Glitter glue & gems
