Blue Hedgehogs

Good Morning Everyone, i hope you are having a good week.

Today im sharing a inky scene with the lovely little Lavinia hedgehog stamps.

7x7scalloped cardbase.  I first took a piece of white card and stamped the floral florish, i then masked it with masking fluid.  This meant i could then work on the background.  I used blue shades of distress ink first and then added in some stencilling with oxide inks.  I stamped water drops in grey ink and then using a damp paintbrush removed the ink within the drops.  I then added glossy accents to the water drops. I also splashed some water onto the background and dapped with tissue to remove some of the colour.  I splashed on some grey pearl paint to add a little shimmer.

I then stamped my hedgehogs & sentiment.  I doodled in some ground for them with a black fineliner pen.  I also stamped some scripted on the ground area just to add some interest and depth to the ground.  I then removed the masking fluid from the flowers and coloured them in with a clear wink of stella pen to give them a lovely shimmer.  I then mounted the panel onto silver mirri card and then the base card.

Just about shows the shimmer on the flowers hopefully.

Most of 'my' hedgehogs are still feeding and fattening up for winter but then other years as its been mild here in Cornwall they are often still out and about into December.  You may think all hedgehogs look the same but after seeing them night after night you can tell subtle differences in them, quite often in their colourings and markings.

One Layer Card

 Good Morning everyone.

Today im sharing a very rare one layer card for me.  So again i dug out the inks, stencils and a couple of stamps.

I first folded a piece of CraftUk ltd smooth white card in half for my base.  I stamped the flower stamp to the left side and masked them with pebeo drawing gum.  I then inked up the background with original distress inks in tones of greens, i then splashed with water and dabbed dry with tissue.  I then stenciled over the top with Oxide inks in the same greens. I splashed some ink over the white section just to tie it all together.  I then removed the masking gum to reveal the white untouched flowers.  I coloured these with Clear wink of stella pen so they glitter in the light.

I then stamped my 2 lavinia hares, i used my stamp platform and over stamped them a few times to get them a nice solid black.  I then doodled in some ground for the flower & hares with a black fine liner pen.  I then lightly stamped in grey a dictionary stamp for the ground.

A close up. When i took the photo i hadn't decided on a sentiment but then a friend had a little accident so sent it to her to give her a smile hopefully.

Hopefully you can just make out the shimmery glitter of the clear wink of stella pen i added to the flowers.

Doodling fun

Good evening all, back with another upload this week.

I saw the challenge for Zentangle and had to join in, Id forgotten how much i enjoyed doing it and its so calming, ideal for passing time in waiting rooms as all you need is paper and a fine pen. Its certainly encouraged me to get 'tangling' again.

This time i started with a stamped image, then just picked up the black fineliner and doodled, i then doodled a border to frame it.  Stamped sentiments.  I did add a touch of pencil shading blended with a paper stump.  Matted onto black and then a white A5 cardblank.

Just a close up of my doodling.

This is the stamped image i started with, it was perfect already having lots of lines to guide me.

I would love to enter this at
