WLS Sept#1 - Cute

Good Morning everyone

Time for a new challenge over at We Love Stamping where the theme this month is

CUTE
So right out of my comfort zone , if cute is not for you, you can always go with the anything goes option as long as you use stamping

Looking through my stamps I don't have many that are cute, but found this cute mouse image that a friend had stamped and sent to me which is called Ballerina Mouse by Pink Ink designs.  I thought it would be ok for my niece Charlottes birthday.

6x6" card which I made from acetate.  After colouring the mouse with alcohol markers i went searching for a paper and found this one with rainbow tones which also picked out the pinks, purples and blues in the colouring.  I folded it and adhered inside the acetate card so that is shows through.

I die cut a frame from teal and white card and added to the front with foam tape, i die cut circles from the same colours and adhered flat in the middle, to this I added the mouse on a 'wobbler' so she dances around.  I then computer printed the sentiments die cut into fishtail banners and added to the front with glue gel.

2 pink glossy hearts added to the sentiments and glitter glue added to the wings to finish.

(After finishing and looking at it a while I realised that if I had thought it through I would have cut the backing paper so the circles were more even on each side.... which I could have done as it was a 12x12 paper but Im sure my niece won't even notice that)

The wobbler gives lots of dimension

Whenever I make an acetate card and added a paper insert, i will always add the frames and such to the front first as i then add the glue behind these to hold the insert in place, therefore no glue shows through the acetate.

Charlotte decided she wanted a recorder for her birthday so we all needed ear plugs! lol

Pink ink stamp 'ballerina mouse'

Fancy square nesting dies
MFT fishtail banner dies
Alcohol makers
Make & Create Patterned paper (the works)

Fish bowl shaker card

Good Morning everyone

Today is a shaker card i made using up left over weird fish that i used on my brothers birthday card back in January.  I decided to make it a fish bowl shape for a bit of fun

Approx size 7"  I used large circle dies and a craft knife to cut a basic fish bowl shape from white cardstock and a matching frame.  I lined the solid shape with a sea themed paper and arranged the fish and seaweed in place.  I added acetate to the back of the white frame and added foam tape around the edge and added shaker bits to the middle........i rarely get it right, either too much or too little, in this case too much so its buried some of the bottom fish😁
I then added the frame and a stamped sentiment die cut into ovals.

The fish had previously been stamped, watercoloured with oxide inks, glossy accents on the eyes and then cut out.  The seaweed & starfish had previously been stamped with ombre ink pads and cut out.

If you look carefully there is a mermaid in the background, i arranged the fish so that they didn't hide her face.  For the shaker bits i used a mix of sequins, seed beads and faux ice so it gives a very satisfying rattle noise.

Items Used:
Funky Fossil stamps 'weird fish'
Seaweed stamp
Pink ink Starfish stamp
Spellbinders grand circle dies
Spellbinders oval dies
The works 12x12 Paper pad 'feeling fresh'
Distress Oxide inks
Glossy accents
Sequins & Beads

With Sympathy

Good Morning everyone.  I hope you all had a good weekend.

Today is the occasion we don't like to make for, a sympathy card made for a friend.  More of a CAS design in a soft colour pallet of grey and lilacs.

A6 Cardbase made from white linen cardstock.   I die cut the star circle die from the top of the card front and die cut a white frame to fit around the outside and a small circle to fit in the middle of the star wreath.  On the small circle is stamped a couple of feathers in grey ink added another couple to the card front.  I attached the frame and small circle with foam tape.

I picked a lilac/pale blue patterned paper which actually has the cosmos & stars printed on it and ideal for my insert to show through the stars.

I stamped the sentiment again in grey and cut to a strip and mounted onto a larger strip cut from the paper i used for the insert to tie it together.  Grey enamel dots to finish.

Just showing it side on with the insert

Just a close up of the focal point.  The feather stamps came from a pink ink set and are small and fitted perfectly.

Items Used:
Star circle die (brand unknown)
Circle dies
Feather stamps Pink Ink stamps ' magnipheasant'
Clearly besotted sentiment stamp
Archival ink - watering can
Altenew grey enamel dots
12x12 paper pad 'mystery' - the works

Thank you all for stopping by once again.  I hope you all have a good week. Hugs Emmax

Shaker Christmas cards

Morning everyone.

Today is a set of Christmas shaker cards.  This year Ive made an effort to use up old paper pads, so this one is from bobunny and a christmas woodland theme in blues and browns, i teamed it with white pearl card and silver mirror card.

Approx 6x6" in size.  I first die cut spellbinders grand label one from white pearl card and folded in half for my base card.  I layered with a piece of paper cut with a smaller label 1, i cut this in half and glued to the front and back of my card.  I then die cut the snowflake circle die from white pearl card and used a circle die to cut around the outside so it becomes a circular frame, i then attached a die cut acetate circle to the back & die cut a circle frame the same size out of funky foam which i glued to the back for my shaker element - just easier to stick than foam tape to a circle leaving no gaps.

I die cut the girl panel from white pearl card and silver mirror card and offset so that some of the silver shows at the top, a circle from the paper pad and a larger white circle.  I glued the girl onto the paper panel  and added micro beads, silver sequins and glitter for my shaker bits and attached my snowflake frame over the top.  I then mounted onto the larger circle and my cardfront.

Stamped greeting die cut into a fishtail banner, snowflakes die cut from silver mirror card and a dazzle gem for the centres to finish.

Just adding that little bit of silver behind the girl helps her stand out from the background, she reminds me of my little nieces out catching snowflakes as they are so rare to see here in Cornwall

A close up of my shaker

Different papers same design

This one shows how the card base stands up easily.

and with the negative middle piece that falls out from the snowflake circle frame i made some very simple gift tags for my presents
I stamped a sentiment on the circle in black and some snowflakes in grey ink and mounted onto a larger circle die cut from patterned papers.  Set an eyelet and added some ribbon and glitter glue highlights to finish.

Items Used:
Bobunny Sleigh ride paper pad
Girl snowflake frame die - brand unknown
Spellbinders grand lables 1 & circle dies
Memory box snowflake dies
MFT fishtail banner die
Clearly besotted sentiment stamp
Creative expressions dazzler gems
White pearl cardstock
Silver mirror card

Thank you all for stopping by, i hope you have a good rest of the week as we prepare for another lockdown.  Weather isn't too good so more crafting for me.  Stay safe. Hugs Emmax

Dragons

Good Morning everyone

Today im sharing a circle card with the Lavinia dragon stamp and an inked, stamped and stencilled background

Approx 8x8" in size.  I first made a circle mask using a large circle die and piece of card, i attached to a piece of white card painted the inside with clean water and sprinkled on brusho's & pixie powders, let them do their magic and dry completely.  Keeping the mask in place i stencilled some stars and spiral detail with oxide inks.  I stamped the lavinia verse with grey archival ink in the middle so it draws the eye into the middle.  I Stamped feathers with grey archival ink. I then removed my mask and using my stamp platform stamped the dragon 3 times with black ink and then die cut into a circle, as i then decided i wanted a bit of dimension the stamped the dragons again on white card and cut out the bulk of the body, curved gently and added over the top with glue gel. Mounted onto a black circle and then a white circle.

To make it stand up i die cut another of the biggest circles from white card, folded it in half and attached to the back.  I then added some stickles with a  purple tone onto the purple stars to add a little more sparkle.

Side on showing it stood up and you can see the dimension on my dragons better too

A close up of the background, you can really see the vibrancy although not the shimmer from the pixie powders when the light hits them.  Now you might think red and purple is a weird combo and not one i would think of but its actually one of the brusho powders - violet i think or maybe just the purple one but it has both purple and red in that little magic pot.

Items Used:
Lavinia stamps dragon 'ollar' & verse 'spiral of spells'
Sheena Feather stamps
Stencils - stars & circle spiral
Spellbinders grand circle dies
Brushos - orange, violet
Pixie powder - red
Oxide inks - wilted violet, fozzilised amber
Archival ink - jet black & watering can
Ranger stickles - twinkle
Black card payper box
white card - craftUk ltd

Thank you all for stopping by and all your amazing comments.  I hope you have a good week even though its all still all over the place, thank goodness for my crafting this year to keep me sane!  Stay safe. Hugs Emmaxx

Circles galore

Good Morning everyone

A birthday card today using lots of die cut circles. This actually started out as i had little offcuts left over and a few white circles so i cut the rest into circles and hey presto!  I luckily found a paper pad in my stash that went perfectly with my marbled card and green mirror card.  Some of circles weren't whole as I didn't have enough card scraps but that wasn't a problem as i have hidden that edge behind others or off the edge of the edge of the card so no one knows any different😀
Approx 6x6"  I first die cut lots of different size circles from a marbled background, gold mirror card coloured with green alcohol inks, white card and forest green pearl card.  I found this fab paper pad in my stash that fitted the colours perfectly, i covered my cardfront with a green spotty paper and then die cut the edge with a curved edge die, the off cut/waste i glued to the inside back card so that when the card is closed they join up (see photo below) I then cut another piece of paper with the same curved edge top and bottom to fit across the middle of the card on foam tape.
I cut lots of circles from white card, forest green pearl card,  green/purple marbled card, and gold mirror card inked with green alcohol inks - so its all very green just broken up with a splash of purple.  I die cut the sentiment from the forest green card and mounted on a white frame. Butterfly die cut from a piece of paper from the same pad. Touches of glitter glue to finish.

Showing it closed and how my curve lines up

and showing it side on how it stands up easily with the curved front.  I made my marbled card using the shaving foam technique - very messy but great fun. See here if you would like more details.

Items Used:
Circle dies
MFT birthday circle die
MFT curved scalloped edge die
Sizzix butterfly die
Bobunny 'enchanted garden' paper pad
Tim Holtz alcohol inks - greens

'My' hedgehogs this year
These 3 guys always arrive together so i think they must be siblings

These 3 also always arrive together, baby, medium & large

I also have at least 2 others another baby and a very big one thats been coming for years. Although in my garden revamp ive just put another couple of hedgehog houses in these guys don't all live in my garden....they just found the go-cat and seem to far prefer it to slugs and snails and to the hedgehog foods ive tried over the years😁   The other day on my walk i found a very young hedgehog in a bad way in that awful heat at midday, managed to wrap my cardigan around and bring it home...several phone calls later found a place for it to go to for more expert care than i can give. I always make sure pots of water around my garden for all the wildlife to drink from, especially in that awful hot weather.... anyway hopefully the little mite makes it

Thank you all for stopping by.  I hope you have a good rest of the week and weekend.  Stay safe. Emmax

Flower Power

Morning everyone, i hope you enjoyed the weekend.

Today is 3 cards made using the same flower die and a pink/purple mirror card I made with alcohol inks - what a nightmare getting decent photos with all the mirror card! I used plum, slate, twilight & denim TH alcohol inks on gold mirror card.

4.5x5.5" card - I die cut the floral die from navy card, my plum mirror card and a teal paper.  I attached the frame to a piece of white card which was slightly bigger and then inlayed the flowers and leaves.  I die cut the happy birthday from my plum mirror card, attached to a white frame, added a butterfly to the centre - adding a little glitter glue to the butterfly to finish.

Version 2 used a plum mirror card frame, gold mirror card flowers and the teal paper leaves on a white card.

Version 3 used a gold frame, the plum mirror card flowers and a light teal for the leaves.  This frame is great as you can use it any way up.  The photos really don't do my plum mirror card justice, even using my photo light box taking photos of mirror card is a nightmare!

Items Used:
Pink Fresh die 'ornate floral'
MFT birthday circle die
Sizzix butterfly die
Spellbinders circle dies
Tim Holtz alcohol inks - plum, twilight, denim, slate
Gold mirror card
Patterned paper
CraftUK ltd white linen card
Payper box navy card
Stickles glitter glue.

Thank you all for stopping by, i hope you all have a good week. Stay safe. Emmaxx
