August WLS #2

Good Morning everyone

Half way through August so time for a reminder over at We Love Stamping

With this months optional theme of 'Sentiment or words as focus' or you can go with anything goes as long as some stamping involved.

Ive used a 2nd quote stamp from the Katzelkraft set I used for the 1st card (see here)

Card size approx 6x6"   I stamped my sentiment with purple ink onto white cardstock, die cut into a shape and lightly inked the edges with purple distress ink.  I die cut a mat from dark purple card (i know it looks black in the photo but is a deep plum)

I found this lovely lilac marble paper with gold foiling and die cut into a larger nested shape and attached to my card front which was again die cut using the nesting dies and white cardstock. I die cut a smaller frame from the deep purple card and attached with foam tape - and added my sentiment topper into the middle again with foam tape.

I then stamped 2 of the carabelle stamps girl onto white, watercoloured with distress inks in contrasting colours to the purple, cut out and added with glue gel either side of the sentiment.

You can make out the gold foiling better on this one

Just showing it stood up side on.

Items Used:
Katzelkraft stamps ktz203 'Adventure'
Carabelle stamps SA60158 'zinouk du jardin'
Marble p.paper
Distress Inks - evergreen bough, shaded lilac, wild honey, cracked pistachio, lemonade
Nested dies
Deep plum cardstock
CraftUk ltd white linen cardstock

These lovely goodies for the lucky winners

August WLS #1

Good Morning everyone

Wow its August, where do the months go to!  Its time for a new challenge over at We Love Stamping and the theme this month is Words as the focus

or you can go with the anything goes option as long as some stamping involved

The perfect time to use these Katzelkraft quote stamps which ive had quite a while waiting to be used...about 18mths I think😲    Ive teamed this adventure quote up with this fab crocodile stamp from Carabelle which is a new addition to my stash

6x4.5" white card base.
I stamped the quote and croc onto white card with green ink.  The croc i watercoloured with distress inks and cut out and the sentiment i die cut into a rectangle with Xstitch dies.  I found an old 6x6 paper pad with matching green papers to use with them. I matted a white with green dotty paper onto black and then the card front. I die cut a green dotty paper with Xstitch rectangle die, it wasn't big enough to fit the space so i cut it in half and glued each side upto the edge of the base paper.

I die cut black paper from the paper pad into another Xstitch rectangle and adhered to the front covering the gap in the green paper so hiding where i cut it in half! I added a ribbon strip from the paper pad across the middle.  Matted the sentiment onto more of the black paper from the paper pad and added with foam tape.  I adhered Mr Croc to the top with glue gel.

This shows the colour much better.  Mr Croc is waving as he sets off on his adventures. Its also satisfying to use several papers up from a very old pad!

Items Used:
Katzelkraft stamps 'ktz203' 'Adventure'
Carabelle Studio stamp 'SA70104' ' Philibert'
Xstitch rectangle dies
Paper pad by Glitz 'Finney' by Traci Smith (very old!)
Versafine clair ink 'Green Oasis'
Distress Inks ' twisted citron, lucky clover'

these are the goodies for the lucky winners so do hop over to join in

Thank you all for popping by, i hope you have a good week. Emmax

National look alike day

Good Morning everyone

Today im honoured to be a guest designer for Day of the month card club
and the theme is 'National look alike day'

So we are looking for 2 of anything i.e 2 flowers, 2 birds, 2 frames.  Now this one really got me thinking and i just kept coming back to the idea of twins so i dug out my old Carabelle Stamps SA60158 'Zinouk du jardin'    a fab old door stamp by Katzelkraft and some cherry blossom to give the feel of stepping out of the grey of winter and into the cheerful blossoming of spring.

Approx card size 5x7"   I first stamped Zinouk twice onto white card and watercoloured with my inktense pencils and then cut her out. I gave them matching outfits so that they definitely look alike

I die cut white card into an arch card base, then used 2 smaller arch dies to cut a frame from white, from the middle piece of the frame i stamped the old doorway in soft grey ink and gave it a very light watercolour wash.  I stamped some twigs around the edge and some text in the background - all in grey. I then lightly inked the edges with a light brushing of black soot distress ink - I also did that to the edges of my base card.

I added the white arch frame with 3d foam and then adhered the topper scene in flat.  I then added the 2 Zinouk's with glue gel so that they are 'stood' on the frame.  I stamped & coloured some cherry blossom, cut out and attached with glue gel and a stamped sentiment to finish.

Just a close up - i added a little touch of glitter to their earrings for a subtle bit of bling. The sentiment stamp is an old magazine freebie

Items Used:
Carabelle Stamps SA60158 'Zinouk du jardin'
Katzelkraft stamps 'les portes'
Katkin krafts stamps (background text) (cherry blossom) 'love nest'
aall&create stamps #851 'rise & shine'
Sentiment stamp - old magazine freebie
Derwent inktense pencils
Distress inks - black soot, vintage photo, cracked pistachio, shaded lilac
Ranger stickles 'diamond'

Thank you all for stopping by, please do hop over to day of the month card club to join in and see everyone comes up with for National look a like day .  I hope you all have a fabulous week whatever you get upto, I shall be doing lots of crafting with my nieces as its the Easter holidays. Christmas in July

Good Morning Everyone

My first Christmas cards of the year and a very rare for me totally flat card.  Ive actually used a non Christmas stamp with these carabelle birds and gave them party hats as they are at a Christmas party😁

DL Kraft card base.  I first stamped out the birds and using a fine liner pen doodled in some hats on them.  To make them look like they are sitting on their heads you need to draw over the top of the head so i then coloured the hats with white gesso which hides the original stamped lines.  I then coloured the hats with red and green ink and gold acrylic paint.  Yellow on the beaks and feet and then just left the birds black and white. I then cut them out.

I used off-cuts of Chrismas papers in red and green to layered a strip across the bottom of the card front for the birds to perch on.  Die cut sentiment in white and white snow dots added to the background with a white posca pen.

Version 2.  To pick up on the gold i used on the hats i edged the cardbase with gold to give it a gilded effect.

Items Used:
Carabelle Studio stamps 'des oiseaux sur un fil' SED0027
Cheerylynn christmas sentiment die
Paper pad from the works
Kraft card
White posca pen
Gold Acrylic paint
White gesso

Thank you all for stopping by once again.   We had a baby seagull fall off a neighbours roof last week and is living in our garden, it is still a ball of fluff and the parents are being very protective so we can't get in the back garden at the moment for being attacked, even the cats are now avoiding it after one got injured.  I am glad though that the parents are looking after it and feeding it as i don't like to see them abandoned to starve....hopefully it grows fast.  My first baby hedgehogs ventured out this week too, so i hope the seagull parents leave them alone.  On the plus side as gardening is out of the question it means more crafting so ive been enjoying that in front of the fans and wimbledon. I hope you all have a good week.   Hugs Emmaxx

Friends of a feather

Good Morning everyone

My 2nd card with those fab carabelle bird stamps is for a friendship swap i joined in.

Card size approx 7x5"  Using Crealies XL stitched arch dies i made my base card from white card and a frame from white and black card.  I die cut a piece of paper for my background and attached them all to the base card.  The birds were stamped, simply watercoloured with distress inks....ive been previously asked why i always say i 'simply' coloured an image and thats as I usually only just add colour without spending time doing serious shading with light and dark....i have no patience when it comes to colouring in and don't find it at all relaxing😁

I then Cut out the birds and then i spent quite a while building up the scene with them.  In my last post i mentioned that this bird stamp is 11inches long so ive just cut them into small pieces.

Sun die cut from yellow paper, stamped sentiment and touches of glitter glue to finish.

A close up - i added glossy accents to their eyes.

Items Used:
Carabelle studios stamp - 'des oiseaux sur un fil'
Clearly besotted sentiment stamp
Crealies XL arch dies
MFT sun die
Distress inks
Patterned paper
White & black card
Ranger glossy accents & diamond stickles

Thank you all for stopping by once again.  I hope its a good week for you. Keep Calm and Carry on Crafting is my Motto at the moment!   Stay safe. Hugs Emmaxx

Bird-day party

Good Morning everyone.

Today is 2 fun birthday cards using inky stencil background and fun bird stamp.  When the carabelle bird stamp arrived in the post i couldn't believe the size - its 11" long, too long for my stamping platform or even my acrylic blocks so I ended up using my clear bigshot plus cutting plate but with my hands i couldn't get a perfect stamp with all the birds so gave up after 15 attempts and decided to cut the birds up and use them in smaller sections and actually after doing that i found you could see the character of each bird better.  So having a pile of birds watch out for plenty of projects coming up with them😁.

Tag shaped cards 4x6"  I first die cut the largest tag die from white card and stamped the flower and masked with pebeo drawing gum and then brushed on oxide inks to cover the background and then with the same colour inks adding some fun stencilling.  I then removed the masking which left the flower and swirls white. I then matted onto navy card & added an eyelet and ribbons added 2mm foam tape to the back i added to a white cardbase cutting the corners to match the tag shape.

I stamped the flower again on white card and coloured the base yellowy/orange to contrast with the background and cut out and added to the base with glue gel.  I coloured the flower head with clear wink of stella so it shimmers nicely, cut out and added with glue gel for dimension.

I watercoloured the birds with distress inks and  cut out.  Gently curved them and added with glue gel. Stamped little words and cut out to finish.

I used yellow, blue and purple ribbons to pick up on the colours in the background and birds

Close up on the funky fun birds - of course i had to add glossy accents to their eyes - that pigeon has had a little too much party punch😊

Version 2

A close up - love the naughty seagulls - again too much party punch i think

Items Used:
Carabelle Studios stamp - 'Des Oiseaux sur un fil'
Katzelkraft stamp - 'Soliflore'
Mini sentiment stamp - unknown
Cross Stitch tag die set
Clearly besotted triangle Stencil
Funky Fossil Hexagon stencil
Distress Oxides Peacock feathers, evergreen bough, salty ocean & wilted violet

Thank you all for stopping by once again.  I hope its a reasonable week for you with everything going on!  Stay safe. Hugs Emmax
