Charlotte's under the sea

Good Morning everyone

For each of my nieces ive made a personalised picture for their walls.  Charlotte was a baby during covid lockdowns so we didn't see her much at all.  Since last Autumn she has been staying at my parents a fair bit and we have got to know her well.  She has a real empathy for nature and after taking her out shell collecting this spring i finally knew what theme i wanted to do her picture.  Out came my pink ink stamps and ive used several shells that Charlotte herself collected on our day out at the beach.

Picture size: 12x9"
I first made a background with brusho's, cosmic shimmer pixie powders and stencilling - photos below.
I then stamped out the stamps onto white card and watercoloured with my inktense pencils which are colourfast & cut them all out. I then die cut thick cardboard from a cat food box with a Sizzix bigz die to spell charlotte, painted them black and covered with glossy accents, i adhered them into place with pinflair glue gel.  I then got arranging my scene.

I added a pearl bead in one of the shells just for a bit of fun. I used a mix of shells, little pieces of drift wood & some small pebbles.

Its difficult to make out in the photos, but i found a pack iridescent green strands in my stash ive had for years, i added a few of them, just pushing the ends into the glue gel behind my images and shells so that they float freely and catch the light when it hits them.

I stencilled on seaweed using green acrylic paints & cadence dora paints which really shimmer when the light hits them.

You can really make out the glittery stencilled 'bubbles' here.  I also stencilled on some fish with oxide inks

Just showing it in its frame.  I found this wooden box frame in the charity shop, gave it whitewash with white gesso, added some rope around the inside edge and added a lovely large shell which also hides the rope ends.

Items Used:
Tim Holtz Bigz alpha die
Pink Ink stamps 'pinky inky' 'sea turtle'
Various foliage stamps
Foliage & circle stencils
Stamperia stencil - fish
Brusho powders 'turquoise' 'sea green'
Cadence dora paints
Derwent inktense pencils

Thank you all for stopping by. I hope you have a good week.  Emmaxx

Charlotte is 3

Good Morning everyone

Yesterday my youngest niece Charlotte turned 3, these are the 2 cards i made for her, one from me and one from my parents.

7x7" lever fold card.  I found this fab mermaid image in my stash from hobbyhouse so  I picked up on the colours in the topper and found a purply water themed paper, its all matted onto chocolate box purple mirri card.  I die cut my sea elements from scraps of paper, using green for my fish to pick up on the green in the image. Computer printed sentiments die cut into circles and lots of glitter highlights to finish.

Showing it fully opened out, i had another smaller mermaid topper and decided to fussy cut and add to the inside with lots more sea creatures.

I picked out the die cut details in the creatures with paint pens, the net behind the mermaid was die cut from an off cut of the purple mirri card.  I added a panel to the back of the card to write the greeting on.

card 2.

Its always hard coming up with 2 totally different cards for each niece and also having 5 nieces to keep coming up with different ideas!   I found this fab flying pig paper in one of my paper pads from the works and thought it would be ideal as they had just had a little of piglets arrive on the farm so its always an exciting time for the children.  I teamed the paper up with a copper satin card.
XL DL (4x11.5")  card, so A4 folded in half lengthways.
I matted the paper onto the copper satin card, rounding all the corners as i went.  I then die cut the alphas from the satin card and mounted onto white die cut circles, these i added to the base with foam tape.  Die cut the birthday sentiment from copper & white and added a drop shadow with the white to help it stand out a bit. Glitter highlights to the wings to finish.

This isn't really the layout i would have gone with, with the placement of the alphas but when i came to attaching them i tried not to hide all the pigs faces.

Trying to show the light hitting the copper satin card as it really it lovely - sadly photos like with the mirror card don't do it justice.

Items Used:
Hobbyhouse mermaid topper
Papers from old paper pads from B&M
Spellbinders circle dies
Tattered lace Alpha dies
Sea themed dies
Sizziz birthday die
Rangers stickles glitter glue- diamond, twinkle

Thank you all for stopping by.  I hope you enjoy your bank holiday monday and have a great week. Emmax

All at sea

Good Morning everyone

Today im sharing 3 cards i made with my Christmas present - these aall&create stamps - love the sea theme.  Here i just used backgrounds id made before and left the creatures white so they stood out against the colourful backgrounds.

A thank you card for my Uncle

A6 white cardblank.  After picking my background - this one is oxide inks (pistachio & ocean) i die cut the scalloped frame die, on the middle panel i then stamped the image in black and then die cut the tim holtz die from the middle - i thought the little holes could be bubbles.  I then attached a piece of silver mirror card to the back and attached to the middle of the card.  I added foam tape to the back of the frame and attached that.  I stamped the image twice more and just cut out the octopus on one and just the hat on the second one and added colour to the hat.  I then added them to the base card.  Stamped sentiment to finish.

Showing it stood up - please ignore my face showing in the mirror card in the background - getting a good photo was not easy😁

Version 2 is using the whale stamp exactly the same way for a little hello friend card

Version 3 - the seahorse stamp is much smaller so i used a smaller scalloped frame die for a 3x5" card.  This background again from the 'pile' is brushos and pixie powders so has a lovely shimmer. Glossy accents 'water drops' added to embellish.

Items Used:
aall&create stamps #390 sea life
Sentiment stamps
Tim Holtz Mixed Media die set
Scalloped frame die set
CraftUK ltd white card
Brusho's & Pixie powders
Oxide inks
Glossy accents

Thank yo all for stopping by and all your amazing comments on my mums birthday bee card.  Stay safe. Hugs Emmax

Magical Seahorse

Good Morning everyone, i hope you are keeping cool.

Today im sharing a second seahorse card i made for a friends birthday.  Again lots of inks, stamps and stencils in use.

A5 white cardblank which i rounded the corners on. I cut a piece of white card smaller than my cardbase to work on.  I first added colour to the panel with oxide inks in tones of green, blue & violet.  I then built up with stencils and shell stamps in the same inks. I added glossy accents to some of the circle stenciling to act as bubbles.  I inked around the outside edge in distress inks sapphire & black soot.
I then die cut 2 ovals into the middle, I added 2mm foam tape to the back of the main outside panel, 1mm tape to the largest oval frame and then i adhered the middle oval back into place flat. So its like steps going inwards, just to act as a frame and draw the eye into the beautiful seahorse.
I stamped the seahorse onto card inked with yellow/orange oxide inks and cut around him, i gently added some shape to his body and glued him in place with glue gel.
I then die cut the swirly waves and fish from scraps of previously inked card and arranged them around my seahorse.
Chit chat stickers to finish.

A close up of the top half, you can see the oval die cuts better here.

Close up on the bottom.  I used the swirls on the spine of the seahorse to stamp the seaweed along the bottom and added in some doodled seaweed with a black fineliner pen too.  The chit chat stickers read 'embrace & cherish magical world' - words close to my heart, take time to see the magic in nature everyday.  I doodle around them with a white gel pen.

Items Used:
Lavinia Stamps - sebastian seahorse
Chocolate Baroque seashell collage stamps
Circles & mini dots stencils
Waves & fish dies
Distress Oxide inks, wilted violet, twisted citron, salty ocean,
cracked pistachio, squeeshed lemonade,
Purple wink of stella pen
Tim Holtz Chit chat stickers

Thank you for all stopping by once again.  I hope you all have a good week. Emma

Emboss resist - under the sea

Good Morning, i hope you all had a good weekend, we had some lovely weather.

Its time for a new challenge over at Make My Monday  The theme this fortnight is

EMBOSS RESIST

My first thought was to dig out my flower stamps but on having a look in my stamp stash found my set of sea themed stamps by chocolate baroque, so went with a sea/water background.

I first stamped the shells and heat embossed with clear embossing powder, i then die cut into a hexagon and coloured with distress inks in blues and greens.  I added some water drops, dabbed with tissue to remove some of the ink to add 'bubbles'

I then added to a white card base cut into a hexagon.  I then die cut a hexagon frame, stamped the greeting and added with foam tape.  I die cut 3 seahorses & 'seaweed' from scraps of card coloured with brusho's & pixie powders.

I stamped the anchor and heat embossed with a black glitter embossing powder and cut out.  I stamped the starfish 3 times onto orange card and cut out.  I then arranged them all.

Close up, i added glossy accents to the bubbles on the background, enamel drops & touches of glitter glue to finish.

The background before i added everything else, you can clearly see the water drops here.

Items Used:
Chocolate Baroque stamps - seashell collage
Craft stamper magazine stamp - starfish
Cheerylynn seahorse dies
Spellbinders foliage die (seaweed)
Stitched hexagon dies
Tim Holtz distress inks - twisted citron, cracked pistachio,  peacock feathers, salty ocean

We look forward to seeing what you come up with at Make my Monday

I hope you all have a good week. Emma
