Squirrel tag

Good Morning everyone

Its not often I make a tag but I decided to join in with the first challenge over at  Tag along & atc

I used these fun squirrels from aall&create and built up a little scene.
Tag size approx A6 (6x4")  I die cut the largest die from cream cardstock and then the next size down from white card I'd sprayed with blue and green inks, the blue one is pearlised, keeping it more blue at the top for the sky and green at the bottom for grass.  Once dry I stenciled a little detail with stormy sky distress ink and stamped some text with forest moss distress ink.

I stamped the branch direct onto the tag, stamping one side and then the opposite.  I stamped the squirrels, leaves & acorns onto white card, watercoloured with inktense pencils and cut out.  I then got arranging it all, adding the squirrels and acorns with pinflair glue gel.  To give the squirrels some ground to stand on, I added a scrap of the inked card to the bottom of the tag with foam pads, inking all the edges with stormy sky distress ink.

I stamped the quotes from the set onto off cuts of cream card, cut out and adhered to the front.

Raiding the ribbon box I found a satin orange ribbon, gold organza and blue lace which matched the colours perfectly.  I punched a hole in the top of the tag and added an eyelet and then threaded my ribbons.

I have a bottle of range matt accents - had it for over 10yrs, so trying to use it - i usually use glossy accents.  Anyway this matt accents is weird as it does leave a shine once dry but its matt - difficult to explain and even more difficult to photograph😁.  Anyway I added that to the acorns to finish.

Items Used
aall&create stamps #290 'squeaky friends' #851 'rise&shine'
aall&create stencil #167 Organic orbs
Stitched tag dies
Derwent Inktense pencils
TH Distress Inks 'stormy sky, forest moss'

Mini Autumn wreath

Good Morning everyone

Half way through October so time for some more inspiration over at We Love Stamping where the optional theme is Autumn but you can always enter with anything goes as long as some stamping involved.

I decided to make a little autumn wreath with this fab fun stamp set i got for my birthday called 'squeaky friends' from aall&create.  Ive coloured them as our native red squirrels  but i think the shape isn't quite right for them but gone with a bit artistic license!

I used a 10cm metal hoop and wrapped with natural garden twine and adhered a dried twig from the garden to the bottom.

I stamped the squirrels and acorns and watercoloured with inktense pencils and cut out and got arranging.   I covered the squirrels and leaves with mod podge to seal and protect them, this also makes them a bit stiffer and more robust for a home decor display piece.  The acorns i covered with glossy accents to give them a more realistic finish.

Trying to get a decent photo was impossible, in real life they do stand out more from the background😁

This is the back, as well as adding leaves to the front and added them to the back of the hoop to give a feeling of depth but also hide all the glue and give a neater finish.

I took a 10cm metal ring and covered with garden twine and added a hanging loop with the twine too. I then took a twig and adhered to the bottom with glue gel before i started adding the characters and leaves.
I have die cut all these leaves over the years from left over scraps which are ideal when i just want a few.  I also have a bag of green leaves for spring/summer projects.

These are the lovely prizes to be won so do hop over to join in at We Love Stamping

Birthday Squirrel

Good Morning everyone.

Today is a card i made for my brothers birthday with an autumn theme as he has a September birthday and loves his wildlife.  Ive teamed up a stamped squirrel with an inky background and lots of die cut leaves.

I first made my background by making a leaf mask - i printed a leaf silhouette out and cut out the inside with a craft knife - this left me with a leaf shape in the middle, using repositionable glue i stuck to a piece of white card and sprinkled on brushos & pixie powders in autumnal colours and left to dry completely.  I then stamped lots of foliage using oxide inks in the background and then the toadstool and falling leaves & acorns using brown archival ink.  Once totally dry i removed my mask.  I then die cut into a XL oval, i created a white oval frame which i added over the top with foam tape and i die cut a 3rd oval, scored along the top edge, folded and glued this flap to the back of my card front - this became the back of my card.

I stamped the sentiment into place and a spider. I stamped my squirrel onto white card, coloured with inktense pencils and cut him out, i attached him onto the front with glue gel.  I then got die cutting lots of little leaves from left over pieces of inked cardstock in co-ordinating colours.   I then got arranging all the leaves.  Glossy accents added to the acorns to finish.  Not forgetting to add some shading under the squirrel to ground him & make sure he isn't floating in mid air.

Showing how it stands up, i just cut a little sliver off the bottom of the back panel, this gives it a stable base instead of turning into a rocker.

Items Used:
Creative stamping magazine freebie stamps - squirrel, spider, leaves
Hobbyart lino hare stamp set - foliage
Lavinia stamps - mini toadstool
Spellbinders little leaf die set
XL Oval dies
Brushos - lime, olive,
Derwent Inktense pencils
Oxide inks

Thank you all for stopping by.  I hope its a good week for you.  Stay safe. Hugs Emmax

Autumn Colours

Good Morning all, its once again time for a new challenge over at

Make My Monday   with the theme this fortnight being

COLOURS OF AUTUMN/ FALL

For my birthday i was given a copy of the creative stamping magazine, first time ive ever had it, it came with a beautiful set of autumnal stamps - right up my street so i didn't hang around to try them out, i made this card for a friends birthday that was last week.

I dug out an old bobunny paper pad full of autumn papers.  I first decided which paper i wanted for the background, i wanted the 2 large flowers on it to be visable so used it on its side.  (the recipient was probably eagle eyed to notice the tiny script in the background on its side - something i only noticed after making the card!)  I mounted this paper onto dark maroon card and the white 6x6 cardblank.

I stamped my squirrel 3 times, once onto white card and then onto 2 different papers, i die cut the white one into a stitched circle.  Then cut out all of the dark paper one and glued it onto the white one and then i cut the orange one and again added over the top with glue gel to give him some shape.

I stamped the sentiment onto white card and die cut into a circle, i then mounted both circles onto maroon and then the cardbase.  I then die cut lots of little leaves from papers and the maroon card and arranged them around my squirrel.  Enamel viva drops then added in co-ordinating colours.

Close up of the squirrel.  After paper piecing him i added a little bit of grey pen for shadow and white gel pen to his eye and nose.

Items Used:
Bobunny papers 'Autumn Song'
Creative Stamping magazine issue 60 stamps
Stitched & plain circle dies
Spellbinders 'little leaf' die set
Viva paper pens - orange, yellow & red

Please do pop over to MMM to see what everyone comes up with and join in with this fabulous theme.

I hope you all have a good week. Emma
