Pop out book Christmas cards

Good Morning everyone

Those of you in the UK, I hope you survived the storm ok, we were ok here other than lost the electric for a couple of hours but a few trees down on the farm and part of one of the barn roofs gone and my other brother who lives closer to Devon is still without electric...it did wake up a few hedgehogs who came out for a snack.

Today im sharing a batch of Christmas cards using the fancy fold called 'pop out book'  Ive used these gorgeous papers from 12x12 paper pads from the works.

I think this is the last of my Christmas cards for this year.

Card size 6x5.5"  I  made the outside of the card from red card and the inside from white, the red then shows through inside and picks up on the red in the paper. For the front I simply matted the paper onto white and then the red base. Sentiment die cut from white and mat and layered.

After making the pop up element i matted with a lovely soft blue snow paper oh the outside edges and a darker blue paper for the 'book' papers.  I added strips of the paper i used on the front to the sides of the book pop out and the outer edge.

I die cut old deer dies from white card, tore the edge of white card for some snow and built the little scene on the book pop out.  I added a little touch of red stickles to the bigger deers nose and some star dust stickles to the snow for a little festive sparkle to finish.

Just showing the pop out side on, this card also stands open nicely on its own to display which is always a bonus with some fancy folds.

Version 2.  I used dark teal card for the front and matted the front paper onto silver satin card and added a hanging star die cut from white and the silver satin which really shines when the light hits it.

Version 3 - the front is matted onto a dark teal glitter card which is super sparkly

Version 4 - I made the base from navy blue card not black as it looks in the photo, used silver glitter card for the front mat layer.  This time i built a little tree scene die cut from white and silver glitter card

On the back of each card i put a place to write the greeting, this is a computer generated sentiment

I used this Pop out book card (queenbcreations) step by step just adjusted the size to fit a 6x6 card

Items Used:
Tonic studio Christmas sentiment die
MFT dies 'deer love'
Memory box tree die
Frantic stamper Star on a string die
Ranger stickles 'star dust, christmas red'
12x12 paper pads from the works which they haven't put names on but are this years '24 pads

Thank you all for stopping by. Emmax

Id love to enter the first card in the following:

Merry Christmas to you all

Good Morning everyone

Today im sharing my last Christmas cards of the year.  I used a tree panel die for the background and some of my alcohol inked mirror card for the reindeer

Size approx 4.5.5"   I first made a background with oxide inks and pixie powders.  This card essentially came about after a previous card  - see here -  to use up the left over trees.
I then die cut the tree panel from white card and adhered to a larger panel from gold glitter card.  I then paper pieced the green trees back into place. I adhered the first green panel to the base card and then the tree panel on top at an angle.
I die cut the reindeer from scraps of alcohol inked mirror card, mounted onto a die cut circle from vellum with stamped greeting to finish.

Just a close up,the photo doesn't really show the shine from the mirror card but i love the mottled effect using the pink & purple alcohol inks on silver mirror card gives.

Version 2 was red alcohol inks on gold holographic mirror card, you can make out the holographic shimmering.

Items Used:
Tree background panel die - unknown brand
MFT deer love die
Circle die
Oxide inks - pistachio, twisted citron, peacock feathers
Pixie powder
Tim holtz alcohol inks
Gold glitter card - B&M
Silver mirror & Gold holographic card - B&M
Vellum - papermania
White card - CraftUK ltd

Thank you for stopping by today and all your support this year.  Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy & Healthy new year.  Stay safe.  Hugs Emmaxxx

Into the Woods

Good Morning everyone.

Once again its time for a new challenge over at cardz4guyz with the theme for the next fortnight being:

INTO THE WOODS
Anything you find in a wood or forest, think flora, fauna or maybe a teddy bears picnic, or is there a pixie hiding among the trees.  It could be an everyday card or a Christmas card but must be for a man/boy.

Ive gone with a Christmas card as its that time of year and although i did make this with a man in mind i think its unisex really and could be done in any colours.  Ive gone with green & gold.

4.5x6" white linen cardblank.  I made a background using distress oxide inks and let dry.  I then cut the tree background die from white linen card, this i attached over my background and mounted on the card front.

I then die cut the 2 deer from gold pearl cardstock, i felt they were a bit lost against the background so added a die cut circle of vellum to just soften the background for them.  I snipped a bit off the bottom of the vellum and placed level with the bottom of the background.  Afterwards i thought it kind of had a snow globe look.

I then die cut my sentiments and mounted onto more of the gold pearl card and added to the top.  The sentiments actually have the fishtail on both ends but i snipped off the left side.

Just a close up and this shows the gold pearl better.

Items Used:
MFT deer love die set
Concord & Ninth 'season of cheer' die set
Wonky stitched circle dies
Christmas Tree panel die - brand unknown
Distress Oxide inks - cracked pistachio, peacock feathers & twisted lime
White linen cardstock craftUk ltd
Gold Pearl cardstock - payper box

So do hop over Cardz4guyz and see what everyone else comes up with for 'Into the woods' and to join in, everyone is welcome to join the challenge.

I hope you all have a good week. Emma

Reindeer at Sunset

 Good Morning everyone.

So today im sharing my first Christmas cards of the season.  I saw this MFT deer die last Christmas but had already made my cards so had to have it for this years cards. Ive teamed it with my old favourite of the MB circle burst die.

I first took some pre embossed ivory card from payper box and scored it to make my cardblank (15x12cm).  I then die cut the circle burst into the card front.  I added my insert in the middle of the card from a beautiful gold pearl paper, so it shimmers and shines through the aperture on the front of the card.  The cardstock is a good 300gsm so strong enough to stand up as a base card even with a big hole in the middle.

I stamped my greeting onto a off cut of the ivory card and mounted onto gold pearl and added to the bottom of the card.  I then cut lots of deer from left over scraps of card coloured with brushos , inks, and added them to the front as if standing on my sentiment strip.

I then used stickles glitter glue to add a sparkly nose and dots on my sentiment strip to finish.

This photo shows how the aperture goes through to the insert, i only glued my insert in to the spine so that it has movement.

Different colours - been using up all those little bits of left over inked card.

This version uses gold mirror card that i coloured with alcohol inks

this one shows the mirror card better, using various colours of alcohol inks on it you get a lovely mottled effect.  This set is a bonus for me as flat for posting, as most of you know i do love my dimension.

Items Used:
MFT Deer Love die set
Memory box circle burst die (large)
LOTV sentiment stamp
Gold pearl paper & Ivory embossed card - payper box
Tim Holtz alcohol inks
Brushos & pixie powders
Stickles - black and red

Well now im back from my holiday its Christmas crafting full steam ahead.  Not sure where the year has gone.

Thank you all for stopping by. I hope you all have a good weekend. Emmax
