Farmers 80th

Good Morning everyone

My dads best mate is 80 this year so mum & dad wanted a card for him, being a retired farmer I had to dig out my old Katzelkraft farm animal stamps.

I've used a side stepper card die I bought over 12mths ago, but this is only the 2nd time Ive used it as the score lines aren't quite right so its a faff to get it folded right!

Card size A5 (approx 8x6")  I die cut the stepper card from white card and the mat layer from green patterned paper, i added a mat layer with chocolate brown mirror card as I also feel the gap for the die cut layers is too big.

I stamped the characters several times onto white card and watercoloured with derwent inktense pencils and cut out.  I then got arranging them onto the card with pinflair glue gel.

I die cut the birthday circle for the brown mirror card and the numerals and alpha's for 80th.  I matted the birthday circle onto a white circle, added a smaller circle die cut from the green paper to the centre and adhered the 80th into place and then added to the card front.

Sorry for the bad photos, my old camera died so Im still working on getting the settings right!  This shows it stood up more and the steps - which are ideal for getting so many characters on one card.

Like most farmers they never retire 100% and have a few animals around who are usually old and retired themselves so more like pets.

They all loved the card so thats good.  This photo shows the true colours better.

Items Used:
Katzelkraft stamps 'farm animals'
Creative craft products 'side stepper die'
MFT birthday circle sentiment die
Alpha & Numeral dies
Derwent inktence pencils
Hunkydory chocolate brown mirri card
Green paper

Thank you all for stopping by once again.  I hope you have a good week.

Jacks Birthday

Good Morning everyone

Today im sharing the 2 cards I made for my brothers birthday

This brother absolutely is NOT a morning person, mum would always threaten to take him to school in his pyjamas as he just wouldn't get up in the mornings.....and yes she would have and he knew that so It did work.  When he was in the army his mates would actually have to tip him out of bed in the mornings.  Even at 42 he is just as bad and don't even attempt to talk to him before 10am!  So when i saw these fun aall&create stamps in the sales i knew they would be perfect for him....He is also a caffeine addict!

I made a little concertina card from kraft card, each section measures 5x3"

I stamped the images onto kraft card and then papers without too much pattern from my scrap box.  I cut out one whole character from kraft card, just his head from a 2nd kraft card and then his PJ's, mug & slipper from the papers and adhered together.

I found this fab sky background with has kind of rays coming down and covered in dots of silver holographic which was perfect for the background so i added to each panel.  I tore green paper for some ground for him to stand on - this from my scrap drawer.   I added the character in place.  Stamped the sentiment onto more kraft card and cut into a funky shape- felt that kind of matches the vibe this card was giving me😁
Showing the card opened out, i carried on the blue sky and green grass on each panel.  To the middle panel i added the 2nd character.  To the left panel i die cut the sentiment from kraft card into a scalloped circle, which i matted onto a sun die cut from yellow.  On the right panel i added a yellow die cut oval to write the greeting on........which my other brother thought was an egg😁

This 2nd character I also stamped onto kraft card and paper pieced his PJ top and cup.  This quote reads 'Ok, but coffee first'
This photo also shows the holographic dots on the background too, when the light hits them they really come to life, like raindrops.

Items Used:
aall&create stamps  #252 'coffee first' #253 'Morning'
spellbinders oval & inverted scallop circle dies
MFT sun die
CraftUK ltd kraft card
patterned papers from the works

and card 2

6x6" stepper card die cut from kraft card.

Last year i was lucky to win a choice of 3 digistamps from 'The paper shelter' and i choose this digi called 'cockatoo rules'.  For this card i used the precoloured image and found a marbled paper in my stash that worked well for the background.  After matting the paper panels on to the card front I added the cockatoo which i had printed out twice, cut out and decoupaged so he has lots of dimension.  I added glossy accents to his sunglasses and bike light.

Birthday sentiment & 2 screw heads die cut from gold mirri card to finish.  I added the screw heads to the top of the side panels for a little embellishment.

Sorry for the rubbish photos, had to take them on a dark dank day!

Items Used:
'cockatoo rules' from the paper shelter
presscut stepper die
sizzix sentiment die
spellbinders screw head dies
Kraft card

Thank you all for stopping by and all your previous comments.  Big hugs Emmax

Sophie & Lizzy's birthdays

Good Morning everyone.

Today im sharing birthday cards i made for my nieces, Sophie was 11 on friday and Lizzy was 9 on monday, as always Ive made 2 cards, one from myself and one for my parents to give.

A4 Tri-fold stepper card made for Sophie.  She loves her fashion and I found a lovely girly paper in my stash that was perfect, i picked up on the tones in the paper and matted with a copper satin card which really dances when the light hits it.  I used 2 very old KennyK toppers from hobby house and cut the girls out.  I mounted one onto a white die cut oval and then the front panel and the 2nd girl onto the back panel.

I die cut Sophie's name and age from the copper satin card & adhered to the panels, i drew around the alphas once glued down with a dark brown fine liner pen to help them stand out a bit better.  Computer printed sentiment in brown ink added to the middle panel.  As Sophie loves her bling i added large coffee colour pearls to the top right and bottom left corners to finish.

Showing it side on.

I used a tattered lace shutter die set which comes with all the mat layer dies too so great for a pretty quick card.  The paper came from an old make&create pad from the works

Card 2 for Sophie is again using an old tattered lace die set, it makes super tiny diamond fold cards so i lined up the die a 2nd time to make it a double diamond pop out - finished size approx 5x5"  Very old bobunny papers 'Isabella' in grey and pink so i used a pearl grey cardstock for my base.  Butterflies are an old spellbinders dies cut from dark pink card for their base and one of the plainer papers from the pad.

I die cut the sentiment and Sophie from dark pink and silver mirri cards and did a drop shadow with the pink to help them stand out and added to the side panels.  Gems added to the butterflies to finish.

and showing the back of the card, i used paler papers on the side panels so could write the greeting.  Computer printed sentiments die cut into circles for the middle sections.

Lizzy's cards
More old stash in use - old presscut stepper die for the base cut from white card and then i found a paper to match the topper and added the panels.  The topper is another old one from hobbyhouse - they come pre-coloured.  I cut it to size, rounded the corners and added with foam tape.
Sentiment and alpha's die cut from purple mirri card, lilac gems and glitter glue highlights added to finish.

Yep -you've guess it, another very old die set! Its good to dig out old dies again.  A Sizzix flip it set.  I die cut the base from white card and the panels from a fab pink & teal paper that came a few years ago from B&M.  I computer printed the sentiments onto white card and die cut into circles and added to the flip section.   Die cut spellbinders fairy dies from teal glitter card and gave them vellum wings, these i added to the base, 2 to the front and one on the back.  Die cut butterflies from gold holographic card to finish.

Showing the front opened up

and the back of the card, i left a space on the left to write the greeting.

I hope you all have a good week, the countdown is on now, as crafters we plan for Christmas for months but it still seems to arrive quickly.  Big hugs. Emmaxxx

Dads Birthday

Good Morning everyone, i hope you had a good weekend.

I made these 2 cards for my dads birthday yesterday.

6x6 scalloped card.  I found this fab brusho background in my background stack, i cut it to fit the cardfront and then die cut both a inverted scallop square frame and the circle burst dies from the middle. Behind the circle burst i added gold mirror card - to give the effect of the sun shining, i added it to the card front, adding the square frame up on foam tape.

I then stamped Mr Crow twice onto white card, left one white and cut it it all out, from the 2nd one i coloured the cravat & hat with orange and cut out and added to the white version. Glossy accents added to his eye & goggles. I glued him into place slotting the bottom edge into the inside of the frame.

I then got die cut lots of leaves from scraps of papers in orange tones and a couple of gold mirror card swirls and arranged them around him with stamped sentiment to finish.

When i saw this stamp i bought it with the idea for my dads birthday as he has quite a few rooks that are friendly, every time he is in the yard or fields they come down to keep him company and they enjoy the fruity snacks he puts out for them, they are full of character.  Mum chose to give him this card as she loved it too.

and onto the 2nd card i made for me which i gave to him

6x6 Kraft stepper card.  I first die cut my stepper card using a very old presscut die set.  Id found a fab feather printed onto kraft paper background so lightly watercoloured around the feathers with oxide inks in blue tones, i then die cut it into the panel and attached to the front.

I stamped the owl twice onto more kraft card, i cut one out leaving a small border around the stamp frame which i inked up blue and matted onto a larger kraft panel and added to the card front. For the moon i painted it with silver mica powder and added glossy accents over the top.  From the 2nd owl stamping i cut out the owl and around the foliage and added to the topper with foam tape.

Stamped sentiment die cut into an oval & matted onto a larger oval inked with the oxide inks to finish

Hopefully you can make out the shimmer of the moon, using the silver mica powder its subtle until the light hits it.

Items Used:
aall&create 'dashing crow' stamp
woodware owl stamp 'lino cut hunting owl'
Clearly besotted sentiment stamp
Presscut stepper die set
Leaf die
MFT Scalloped frame die
Memory box circle burst die
Spellbinders oval dies
Brusho's - moss, olive, emerald
white silver mica powder
Distress oxide inks tumbled glass, salvaged patina

Birthday Sheep Stepper card

Good Morning everyone

I was asked to make a card for a female who loves sheep and knitting, after alot of thinking this is what i came up with.

I die cut the presscut stepper card from white cardstock and folded all the score lines.  I die cut the panels from a pale green card and then used a purl embossing folder on them to get the knitting theme in and inked the edges with lucky clover distress ink.  I attached them to the base.  I stamped and watercoloured the sheep with oxide inks - i wanted them to be colourful.  I cut them out and attached to the base with glue gel.  Computer printed sentiment die cut into a speech bubble.  I added little buttons to embellish - again picking up on the knitting theme.

A close up of the flock.  Of course i added glossy accents to their eyes.

Items Used:
Katzelkraft farm animal stamps
Presscut stepper die
Crafters companion purl embossing folder
Distress Oxide inks - raspberry, persimmon, citron, denim, lemonade

Thank you all for stopping by once again.  I hope you all have a good week. Emmax

The Bird House

Good Morning everyone.  I hope you had a good weekend.

Today im sharing a card i made for my dads birthday with those fun crazy birds, i've teamed them with a stepper card and window die to create a bird house idea.

I first die cut my stepper card from black pearl cardstock and folded along the score lines. I then layered on some woodgrain patterned paper.  I took the middle panel of wood paper and die cut the window die into it, i then added acetate behind the aperture.  I added a stripey 'wallpaper' behind the window and attached to the cardbase.  I then die cut the window again from the black pearl cardstock and inlaid that over the acetate.

I then stamped the birds onto white card and simply watercoloured with distress oxide inks, i picked colours to go with the stripey wallpaper. I then fussy cut out the two birds. I die cut various leaves from left over scraps of patterned paper and inked card.  I arrange the leaves and birds onto the bottom of the stepper.

Just a close up on the birds.  I used oxide inks in candied apple, fozilised amber, lucky clover & salty ocean.  I added glossy accents to their eyes.

Just showing the stepper card side on.

Items Used:
Tim Holtz crazy bird stamps (original size)
Presscut centre stepper card die
Spellbinders window die
Various foliage dies
Bobunny paperpad 'broadwalk'
Black pearl card - payper box

Thank you all for popping by once again.  I hope by bright colourful birds brighten up the day. Emmax

Alices 3th Birthday

Good Morning all, i hope you've had a good week.

Today is my Niece Alice's 3rd Birthday,  She is Unicorn and Flamingo mad so i had to make cards with them on.  Purple is also her favourite colour. So we have purple flamingos which she always calls 'Mingo's'

I first die cut a dark purple spellbinders labels 1 die cut, approx 6x6" in size and folded it in half.  I then die cut the next size down from white card and the next size down from this fabulous purple pattern paper.  I thought it had a bit of a tropical feel.

I then die cut a smaller scalloped labels 1 and added it to the front with foam tape.  I die cut 3 'Mingo's' from card coloured with violet oxide ink and purple pixie powder.  I added these to the front.

Computer printed sentiments die cut into circles.  I added touches of glitter glue to the background flowers - what little girl doesn't love glitter.

Showing it stood up.  Only the bottom half of the white panel is glued to the purple base.

A close up of the purple Mingo's, i had also cut 2nd wings for them and shaped before adding to the body.

*****

and onto the second card i made - yep Unicorns.

The glitter unicorn is actually a sticker i found in a discount store, i used a purple pen on his mane, horn and tail.

White die cut stepper card, i then die cut a cloudy sky paper and added to the front.  I turned the circle birthday sentiment into a shaker pouch.  I added orange card behind to act as the sun, i filled it with orange micro beads and silver glitter.  I added this to the cardfront and then added the unicorn.

I die cut  'Alice & 3' with alpha dies from silver glitter card and purple card and offset,   The number 3 i mounted onto a white circle and then silver circle.

Lots of tiny butterflies cut from orange card.

Just showing it stood up

Close up on the shaker part.  Hopefully Alice enjoys shaking it.

Presscut stepper card die
MFT birthday circle die
Flamingo die (magazine freebie)
Spellbinders grand labels 1 & scalloped labels 1
Spellbinders circle dies
Memory box mini butterflies
