Birthday sheep

Good Morning everyone

I made this sheep themed card for my dads birthday as he keeps a few sheep, i made a couple of similar Christmas cards too which are right at the bottom of the post.

I first stamped the fab sheep and hats from hobbyart stamps and watercoloured with distress & oxide inks and cut them out.
I made  my double z fold card blank out of card white - i can't remember the exact size but had to use A3 to start with. I used these fab papers from the works which reminded me of a green meadow for the sheep to roam in, for the front layers i tore some of the papers to give a grass like edge for the sheep to stand on. I then added the sheep with pinflair glue gel for dimension.

Sentiment die cut using alpha block dies and a few white seagulls and rabbits which we also see in our fields.

Showing a different angle - dad loved it so thats good!

Items Used:
Hobbyart ltd stamps ' CS110D Baa-Humbug'
12x12 paper pad from the works 'nature'
OI Rabbit & seagull dies
alpha dies

Id love to enter this card in the following:

and while i was at it I made a Christmas version for 3 of my nieces

This time using Christmassy papers to build up my scene and a little die cut Christmas tree which they have decorated with red glitter baubles -i used a hole punch to make my baubles - the perfect size for the tree.  I added 2 of the front sheep on wobblers which my nieces loved.  A few die cut snowflakes to finish.

The works paper pad 'let it snow'
Memory box snowflake dies

I was lucky to also get these fab hedgehog stamps from hobbyart so i made a hedgehog version for my other 2 nieces.  Again papers from the works and i added red stickles glitter glue to all the baubles for some sparkle.  2 of the hedgehogs are on wobblers - these wobblers are new to me - love them, i think i might be wobbling a lot of things on my cards in 2024😁 - such great fun- I only found out they existed from a craft friend in America and a search on amazon and i found lots of them here in the UK.

Items Used :
Hobbyart ltd stamps 'CS321D Christmas Hedgehugs'
12x12 Paper pad from the works 'Traditional Christmas'
Cheerylynn christmas sentiment die
Ranger stickles 'red'
'wobbler'

Thank you all for stopping by.  I hope you've had a good start to the new year, could do with some better weather to perk us up I think!  Emmax

Christmas Turkey

Good Morning everyone

Today is a fun card using turkey stamped images a lovely craft friend sent me a little while back.  I thought they would be ideal for a card for my brother as he rears a few turkeys each year.  Ive made a DL fold back design.

White DL (approx 4x8") card with the fold on the side.  I first Covered the card with a soft beige patterned paper and die cut curvy stitched borders for the ground from deep red christmas papers.  I inked all the edges with distress ink.

I watercoloured the images with inktense pencils, cut them out and arranged on the card front with glue gel.  I die cut the sentiment into an oval and added to the base.  Glossy accents added to their eyes to finish.

How it opens up to show the other turkeys who are out on strike with their placards

Items Used:
Hobbyart stamps 'CS136D'  Daryl the quirky turkey
MFT stitched edge dies
Oval die
12x12 christmas paper pad from the works
Distress inks ' forest moss, chipped sapphire'
Derwent Inktense pencils
Ranger glossy accents

Thank you all for stopping by once again.  I hope its a good end to the week and weekend for you all.  Hugs Emmaxx

No sprout about it....

Good Morning everyone

A fun christmas card today, using these fab sprouts from hobbyart stamps that a craft friend set me a while back

A5 white linen card base.  I first watercoloured the sprouts with inktense pencils and cut them out.  I computer printed my sentiment and cut into strips and matted onto green glitter cardstock and attached to the card front top and bottom.  I added some pine branches die cut from a dark green pearl cardstock and added my sprouts with glue gel.  I then added bows and strings die cut from green glitter card to make the sprouts look like they are hanging like baubles.  Also for a bit more bling i added little green gems to the centres of the bows
Just a close up on the spouts, i added glossy accents to their eyes.

Items Used:
Hobbyart stamps 'Christmas green-things'
Pine branch die (brand unknown)
Bow & string dies (brand unknown)
CraftUK ltd white linen cardstock
Jelly bean crafts Green glitter card
Derwent inktense pencils

Thank you all for stopping by and your comments which i really so appreciate.  I hope you all have a good week.  Now im back from a break i shall have to crack on with Christmas cards. Hugs Emmaxx

Easter Bunnies

Good Morning everyone, i hope you have been enjoying the Easter weekend.

Today im sharing my last 2 Easter cards. These came about as i had alot of oval frames left over from my butterfly cards.  Ive built a little spring field scene for my Lavinia Hare stamps.

I first made my base card to the size of the largest frame approx 6.5x5.5"... I die cut 2 ovals from white card, scored a line to make a flap, i glued this flap to the back of the 2nd oval - thus giving me a card blank.  So that it stands up i cut a little slither off the bottom edge of the back of the card.  I added a light watercolour wash to the front of the card using distress inks to give a grass and sky look.

I took 4 oval frames, twisting and off setting them, adding glue to the areas where they overlapped so that they were then joined as one.  I stamped the foliage and flowers onto the frames using oxide inks and hobbyart lino cut hare stamp set.  I added foam tape to the back and added to my card front.

I die cut an oval to fit the middle frame, did a background distress ink wash for the grass and sky and stamped flower flowers and foliage with oxide inks.  I then stamped my hares with black archival ink and some little snails & spider.  I doodled in some ground for the hares to stand on.  Stamped sentiment to finish.

Version 2.  I made my oval card blank and added a black card oval mat and then the white frame that id stamped with the flowers and foliage added with foam tape for dimension.  I die cut an oval to fit inside the frame and added grass and sky with distress inks.  Stamped some flowers and foliage with oxide inks.  The stamped my hared, doodled in some ground and shading under them.  Stamped greeting to finish.

Items Used:
Lavinia stamps - Wild hares, vine
Hobbyart stamps - lino cut hares
Card-io stamps - bugs & snails
Sentiment stamps
Distress inks - tumbled glass, salty ocean, pistachio, wilderness
Oxide inks - campfire, amber, marmalade, clover, peacock, citron

I hope you all enjoy your bank holiday Monday and have a good week.  Hugs to you all. Emmax

Moooooo!

Good Morning everyone, i hope you can have a good weekend.

For Christmas i was given a new set of zinski art paperartsy stamps, this fab fun cow stamp, of course with all the cards i make for farmers they will come in very useful but first off is a little piece of artwork for the wall.  I used stamps and stencils to make a background to look like they are in a Cornish Field with branches overhanging😀

This first photo shows it in its frame, i went with a faux wood frame to pick up on the nature feel.  Although my brother works with rare breeds he doesn't have any cows as colourful as this mini herd😁

Approx size 11x5".  It is much brighter than the photos!.  Anyway, i first cut a piece of white card the size of the frame and using distress inks in greens built up the background by dabbing the ink on my mat, sprizting with water and dipping my card into it, drying inbetween layers to build it up. I then splashed on some water and dabbed with tissue to remove some colour in places  and then added some ink splats by dipping my paintbrush in watered down ink and tapping it over the background just to add more interest and depth.
Once completely dry i did some stencilling with a cow print stencil and distress ink, i also used a dictionary stamp through the stencil to add interest.  I then stamped on foliage with oxide inks.

I then stamped my cows on white card, coloured with oxide inks and then added shadow to them with blue grey alcohol markers and fussy cut them out. I added glossy accents to their eyes and touches of glitter glue.  I gently curved the bodies and glued into place with glue gel for dimension.  I then took a black fineliner pen and doodled in the grass to ground them.  I added more shadow to the ground with grey alcohol markers, using the alcohol markers on top of the water colour means it doesn't get too 'muddy'

To finish i stamped the quote and cut it out.

A close up, this shows the true green colour a bit better.

Another close up

Thank you

Good Morning Everyone

Today im sharing a small set of one layer CAS stamped thank you cards.  I used my ombre ink pads - i decided before chrismtas i need to use them much more as they are years old and they are so effective.

5x5 White linen cardblank. Using the ink pad ive stamped the crazy cat stamps and their accessories randomly over the card and then stamped the sentiment - learning from this first card i stamped the sentiment first on the next one to get it more central - for this first card i had orginally planned to stamp the greeting seperately and die cut into a shape but after stamping the cats i thought it would be a shame to hide them.

2nd version using the crazy dogs.

and 3rd version using Hobbyart linocut hare stamps and the cappuccino inkpad. I also doodled in a stitched border with a co-ordinating fine liner pen.  Was pleased how effective the inkpad was on a more solid design than the crazy cats/dogs.

These are the ink pads, looking at the open one, the little tab to the left you slide and it slides the different ink colours together so that you get a seamless join inking up stamps, then you slide them apart for storage so they don't seep into the colour beside.  Im not sure why i haven't used them more but this year that is changing!

Items Used:
Tim Holtz crazy cats & dogs mini stamps
Hobbyart 'lino cut hares' stamp set
Stampin up 'sassy salutations' sentiment stamp
Kaleidacolour ink pads - caribbean sea & cappuccino
CraftUK ltd white linen cardstock
Brown fine liner pen

Thank you all for stopping by.  I hope you enjoy the rest of the week and weekend.  Emma
