WLS Jan #2 - Carrot fever

Good Morning all

Time for the mid way post for We Love Stamping where the theme for January is

SOMETHING NEW
Just remember to include stamping

Ive gone with another new stamp set, when I saw it in the sale I knew it would be perfect for my dads birthday card in December, he is always battling the wildlife in his vegetable garden especially the pesky rabbits.  There are several different rabbit stamps in this set so i decided to use them all on one card and make a kind of story scene

DL card (4x8") I folded the front in half and back on itself.  This first image shows the front and part of the back

On all the panels i used printed paper to build a field scene with a blue purple paper for the sky and a greeny one for the grass, this green one i tore the top edge and inked to give a bumpy grass like texture and layered them up.

I stamped the rabbits onto white, added a little colour with alcohol markers and cut out....of course the wild rabbits aren't white but i kept mine white to stand out against the background and save on colouring in! I stamped lots of carrots from both this set of stamps but also some smaller ones i had from an aall&create set

On the front left panel I added the one running rabbit

The back panel, I added the rabbit pulling his carrots out, adding lots of extra carrots flying through the air as he is working that fastπŸ˜‚ πŸ₯•πŸ₯•πŸ₯•πŸ₯•πŸ₯•

Then to the right the rabbit catching them & hugging the precious perfect carrot

On the hidden panel which you see on opening the card up I added the 2 smaller rabbits, one with his head in the ground looking for where the carrots are and one having a little snooze after eating the carrots when he should be on look out duty!

I computer printed my sentiment/quotes to match my little story, cut them out, inked the edges with a black pen and adhered into place.

Glossy accents added to the eyes and 2 orange enamel dots to the corners to finish.

Items Used:
Creative Expressions stamp set #UMSDB179 'No bunny like you'
patterned paper
CraftUK ltd smooth white A3 card
Distress ink evergreen bough, faded jeans, spiced marmalade, ripe persimmon,
Alcohol markers - grey & pink

Happy Fathers Day

Good Morning everyone

My parents booked last minute to go to France for 6 weeks so I had to get a card made for dad for fathers day fast.   I bought this old bus stamp from aall&create in a sale earlier in the year which I thought would be ideal for dad.

Card size approx 6x4.5".    I stamped the bus and watercoloured green with inktense pencils and cut out.  I made my card base from green card by die cutting 2 shapes and adhering together with a hinge on the back one.

I die cut a smaller shape from white card and embossed with a 3d cog embossing folder which I then lightly inked over with black soot distress ink to give it some depth and feel of oily cogs.

I die cut a piece of black card with a scalloped edge and adhered to the bottom of the white panel and then the card front.  I added the bus with glue gel and then added some white lines on the road with white inktense pencil - i went with wonky lines to go with the quirky bus for a bit of fun.

Sentiment stamped in black on strip of white card, matted onto black, adhered with foam tape and 2 green gel dots added to finish.

Showing it stood up.  I added glossy mod podge to the windows to give a subtle glass like effect when the light hits it.

items Used:
aall&create stamp set #1113 'Brit stop bus pop'
Tim Holtz Sizzix 3d embossing folder #662715 'mechanics'
MFT scalloped edge die
stitched nesting dies
Derwent inktense pencils
white, black & green card

Thank you for stopping by once again.  Its been an eventful week and I won't be having a 3rd injection of the new MS medication after I ended up being sent to A&E with anaphylactic shock......now of all the side effects I had considered that wasn't one of them! lol   So been feeling very fragile last few days and glad I got well ahead on my DT makes etc....So please forgive for not commenting on your makes, hopefully a few quiet days and I perk up a bit.

Big hugs to you all. Emmaxx

Goat birthday

Good Morning everyone

I made this card for my mum to give dad for his birthday.  Its using this goat stamp from aall&create - his horns are magnificent and he actually looks very much like my dads ram(sheep) 'Duncan'

A6 (4x6") white card base.  I first stamped the image  three times onto white with blue ink and watercoloured 2 of the goats with distress inks and cut out
I found this old paper pad in my stash that matched the colours id coloured the image perfectly.  I added a yellow tone paper to the base and added a little stripe of the red & blue paper across the middle having matted onto white.

From the uncoloured image i die cut with a rectangle frame die.  I added the frame to the card front with 2mm foam tape and adhered the goat image flat into the middle.  I then decoupaged the coloured goat on top with glue gel so it looks like he is bursting out of the frame.

Sentiment added to finish

Showing it side on

Items Used:
aall&create stamp #619 'Mountain goat'
Very old kanban paper pad (13+ yrs)
Distress inks ' wild honey, vintage photo, aged mahogany, tumbled glass, evergreen bough'
Versafine clair ink 'medieval blue'
MFT frame & nesting dies
birthday die
aall&create stencil #167 'organic orbs'
Altenew stencil 'leaf burst'

Thank you all for stopping by once again. Hugs Emmax

In the dog house

Good Morning everyone

Today im sharing another book fold card and used these fab dog stamps from aall&create to make this card for my dad.  My dad and his dog are joined at the hip, although Denzil is a border collie - not sure what dog breed these stamps are.

This photo shows the card front and the inside with the pop out book design.  I went with a wood effect kraft card base to give the feel of a wood dog kennel - picking up on the stamped images on the front.....on the front of the card he is standing outside his kennel and then open the card to the inside😁  Denzil is only part working dog now that dad has retired so only works a few sheep and he hates getting wet and muddy - unlike his sister Tig who is never happier than when covered in mud!

approx size 4x6"  I made the base card and inside from wood effect kraft card. Then used muted pastel papers, blue for a sky and beige for the ground.

I stamped the images, watercoloured with distress inks & cut out once dry.  I arranged the fence and kennel where the papers meet and added Mr Pooch in front with glue gel for a little dimension.  Stamped sentiment onto white and and fixed to the top, this grungy sentiment stamp seemed to fit the feel of the card.

and inside the dog house

I matted soft green papers onto the outside panels and then on the middle pop out book section i used the same blue and beige used on the front.  I tore the beige to give him some ground to sleep/stand on.  Added the pooches and sentiment.

On the left it reads 'no day is so bad it can't be fixed with a nap' which came with the dog stamps and is very apt for my dad  - my nieces always comment on the amount of naps/siestas grandad takes....of course quite often he goes in the bedroom for some peace from the girls but he does like his naps too!

I added a panel to the back of the card to write the greeting on to finish.

Denzil in this years wild flower meadow that my brother grew - He is a right softy - photo courtesy of my sis-in-law.

Most people think im a cat person as i only have cats these days as I couldn't walk a dog enough with my MS but we grew up surrounded by animals and I love dogs just as much as cats.  When I was a baby, mum would take me for long walks in an old style pram with the dogs, puppy in training and the cat, when the puppy and cat got tired of walking they both went in the pram with me which I think is why growing up if we went anywhere I always found a dog or cat, im the same now, always pulled towards them.  Quite a few of our family cats have joined us on walks over the years, 2 of mine now join me on my daily walk(slow meander)

This was a 2nd version i made for a friend. Used the same papers and images but on the front i went for a more rustic vibe by tearing the paper edges.  I forgot to take photo after i added the birthday greeting to the right side of the book pop out - i used the same one i used on dads which says 'have the best birthday ever'

Items Used:
aall&create stamp sets #286 'best mates' & #630 'basic sentiments'
12x12 paper pad from the works 'pastel basics'
Distress Inks 'twisted citron, vintage photo, peacock, blueprint, aged mahogany, chipped sapphire.
Kraft card

Thank you for popping by once again.  Emmaxxx

Dad

Good Morning everyone

The 2nd card i made for my dads birthday is a building block fold using rat stamps from Katzelkraft which i teamed up with a pipe die to give the feel of them living among the pipes where its nice and warm for themπŸ˜€

I made my base card from Kraft card and matted woodgrain paper onto green paper and then the base. I die cut the pipe die several times from gold satin cardstock and built it up over the card, i used one whole one in the middle and chopped up another for smaller pieces that i added on.

Screw heads die cut from orange mirri card and added to the corners

I watercoloured the rats with green and orange distress inks, cut out and arranged into place.

Showing it opening up, i used alpha dies on green paper and orange mirri card to spell out dad on one side of the block and die cut mini tools from the gold satin for the other side.  Die cut sentiment from more gold satin to finish

showing the other side of the blocks and panel

I had 3 rats left so made this card for my box

A5 kraft card base.  I die cut the pipes from a mat gold this time.  Sizzix birthday sentiment die cut from orange mirri card to finish.

Items Used:
Katzelkraft stamps 'ktz179' Les Rats des ville
pipe & tool dies
Spellbinders nuts & bolts die
Sizzix sentiment die
Papers from the works*
Kraft card
Distress Inks - twisted citron, rustic wilderness, wild honey, ripe persimmon

Birthday sheep

Good Morning everyone

I made this sheep themed card for my dads birthday as he keeps a few sheep, i made a couple of similar Christmas cards too which are right at the bottom of the post.

I first stamped the fab sheep and hats from hobbyart stamps and watercoloured with distress & oxide inks and cut them out.
I made  my double z fold card blank out of card white - i can't remember the exact size but had to use A3 to start with. I used these fab papers from the works which reminded me of a green meadow for the sheep to roam in, for the front layers i tore some of the papers to give a grass like edge for the sheep to stand on. I then added the sheep with pinflair glue gel for dimension.

Sentiment die cut using alpha block dies and a few white seagulls and rabbits which we also see in our fields.

Showing a different angle - dad loved it so thats good!

Items Used:
Hobbyart ltd stamps ' CS110D Baa-Humbug'
12x12 paper pad from the works 'nature'
OI Rabbit & seagull dies
alpha dies

Id love to enter this card in the following:

and while i was at it I made a Christmas version for 3 of my nieces

This time using Christmassy papers to build up my scene and a little die cut Christmas tree which they have decorated with red glitter baubles -i used a hole punch to make my baubles - the perfect size for the tree.  I added 2 of the front sheep on wobblers which my nieces loved.  A few die cut snowflakes to finish.

I was lucky to also get these fab hedgehog stamps from hobbyart so i made a hedgehog version for my other 2 nieces.  Again papers from the works and i added red stickles glitter glue to all the baubles for some sparkle.  2 of the hedgehogs are on wobblers - these wobblers are new to me - love them, i think i might be wobbling a lot of things on my cards in 2024😁 - such great fun- I only found out they existed from a craft friend in America and a search on amazon and i found lots of them here in the UK.

Items Used :
Hobbyart ltd stamps 'CS321D Christmas Hedgehugs'
12x12 Paper pad from the works 'Traditional Christmas'
Cheerylynn christmas sentiment die
Ranger stickles 'red'
'wobbler'

Thank you all for stopping by.  I hope you've had a good start to the new year, could do with some better weather to perk us up I think!  Emmax
