Sophie is 13

Good Morning everyone

My oldest niece Sophie has just turned 13 and these are the two cards i made for her

6x6" gate fold card.  I found this fab paper in a pad from the works, Sophie loves green & pink so ideal for her, i matted it onto a dotty green paper and then the card front.  I found a pink paper to match the tones and stamped the bear and cut out, i stamped her arms, nose & tail onto sage green paper, cut out and pieced onto the pink bear.  I stamped the flowers onto oatmeal paper, cut out & added to look like she is holding them.

I die cut a large white circle, smaller one from the sage green paper and a soft oatmeal colour, adhered together and glued in the centre of the card front, making sure to just add the glue on one side of the circle so the gatefold still opens.  I then added the bear on a wobbler.  I stamped a few stars and flowers from the stamp set, cut out and added around the bear.  Glitter glue added to the flower centres and stars for some sparkle - this 13 year old girl loves her sparkle 😁

The inside.  I used the same paper as the front on the inside of the gate panels.  For the middle i used a plain oatmeal paper so that the mice would stand out well.  I die cut the birthday sentiment from white and matted onto the pink i used for the bear and added a little star.

The 2 mice were stamped onto sage green paper and the belly, ears & tails onto the pink.  I added a little heart to one mouse and a little birdie on the nose of the 2nd one.

The back of the card with a place to write the greeting where i matted circles from the same papers and stamped the sentiment.

Items Used:
aall&create stamp set #466 Quirky friends
12x12 paper pads from the works 'lovely flowers, Botanic & pastel basics'
Clearly besotted sentiment set
Birthday circle die
Ranger stickles 'diamond'

and card 2
another book fold - i was on a roll with these.  Ive used another aall&create stamp set too

The 2nd card I made for her is another pop out book fold.  I made my card base from navy blue cardstock and layered on pastel papers.  I stamped the images, watercoloured with distress inks and cut out.  I layered up 2 fence panels, the barn and the pig in mud on the front.  I stamped sentiment from a paperartsy set, cut out and adhered to the front.

On the inside i added more of the pastel papers and the other 2 pigs from the stamp set

Items Used:
aall&create stamp set #287 'Dirty games'
Paperartsy JOFY stamp set 'JOFY 11'
12x12 paper pad from the works 'pastel basics'
Distress Inks - vintage photo, picked raspberry, wild honey, chipped sapphire, walnut stain

She loved both cards so thats good.  Its get harder to keep coming up with ideas, especially as I make 2 for all their birthdays, one from my parents too.

Id love to enter the first card in the following:

Floral exploding gatefold

Good Morning everyone

After making a christmas exploding gatefold card I decided to make some floral ones, again using the beautiful make & create 12x12 paper pads from the works, also a good way to use some of my coloured cardstock which im still on a mission to use up!

Card size approx 6x6"  I first picked the papers I wanted to use and then found matching cardstock to go with them.  I scored both the paper and the cardstock and adhered together, I found it easier to glue one side first and then fold the insert into its finished position and then adhered the second side by closing it down onto the insert.

I wrapped co-ordinating ribbon around the whole card, leaving it long enough to tie closed.  I die cut a circle from the same base cardstock and paper and glued to the left front side of the card, capturing the ribbon underneath.   A die cut butterfly and gems on its body and the top right and bottom left corners of the card front to finish.

On the inside i took an old 'hello sunshine' die and cut from the orange card and matted onto a yellow circle.  I added a panel of less patterned paper to the back of the card to write my greeting on which also hides the glue used to attach the ribbon.

Version 2, I used a birthday sentiment die in the middle and a flower die cut from vellum for the front.  Photo shows the card closed and then once you open it up

Version 3, i used cream pearl cardstock for the base, spellbinders labels 1 for my front topper panel.

Version 4, back to a vellum flower

and version 5.   Using these pretty papers has brightened cold winter days and its been good to dig into the ribbon box too.

I followed this simple template on pinterest https://www.pinterest.co.uk/pin/510736414003899933/

Items Used:
Make&create papers from the works 'watercolour feelings' 'vintage floral'
Studio light 'just lou' butterfly dies (STENCILJL18)
Birthday circle die
Flower dies
Spellbinders labels 1
wonky stitched circle dies

Thank you for stopping by and all your lovely comments on my last project.  I hope you all enjoy the end of the week and weekend.  Hugs Emmax

Gatefold explosion card

Good Morning everyone

My final Christmas card is one Ive made for my parents.  I used a gorgeous paper pad from the works called 'let it snow'

I found a gatefold explosion card template on pinterest and adapted to make a 7x6" card from a sheet of A3 white cardstock.  I made the exploding insert from one of the double sided papers in the pad and adhered inside.  I then used the same paper for the 2 front panels.  I took a piece of blue ribbon and attached to the back of the card, making sure it was long enough to tie up, I then covered the back panel with another paper to hide the ribbon.

The paper pad has 6" square toppers of these lovely winter scene but i die cut one with a double stitched rectangle die as it suited my card better, i matted it onto a larger rectangle die cut from silver holographic card.

Working on the front of the card, I brought the ribbon around the left hand side and held in place with tape - making sure it would be hidden under my topper!  I then added the topper to the left hand panel with foam tape.  The ribbon then ties in a bow to the right of the card to close it.

I die cut 2 snowflakes, one from silver mirror card and one from silver glitter card, but the glitter card has more of a soft lilac tone which picks up on the lilac in the topper perfectly.  I offset the snowflakes and added to the top left with glue gel and added a large gem.  Glitter glue highlights added to the topper scene to finish.

Showing it opening up...

and it open.
This paper has a lovely lilac snowfall patterned on the back so i cut a piece to mat into the middle of the exploding pop out.  Sentiment die cut from silver holographic card.  To help it stand out a bit more i went around the die cut with a blue fine liner.  I also backed my topper panel with the same paper so that it all looks neat and tidy from the inside too.

Just showing the back, I used a paler paper from the set so i can write on it.

Items Used:
12x12 paper pad from the works 'let it snow'
Double stitched rectangle dies
Snowflake die
CraftsUk Ltd smooth white card A3
SIlver holographic card
Silver glitter card
Ranger stickles 'diamond'

Thank you all for stopping by.  I hope its a good week for you.  Keep warm.  Emmax

Gatefold Sunflowers

Good Morning everyone

So while making my sunflower edger cards i thought you could turn them into a gatefold design.

Card size approx.6x10"..  Using soft gold pearl cardstock i die cut 2 sunflower panels, i then cut a piece of soft gold pearl card to size for the main section of the card, i scored and folded the edge of the sunflower panels and then adhered them to the middle panel.  I took a contrasting patterned paper and lined the inside, this also hid the joins on the card.  I added colour to the sunflowers using oxide inks.
I die cut some butterflies - soft gold for the inside and using the same paper i lined the inside for the 2 butterflies on the front.  Lots of gems & glitter glue to embellish.

Showing it stood up side on

I added a panel to the back of the card to write my greeting on, i used the same paper i lined the card with.

Items Used:
Creative expressions papercuts sunflower edger die
Sizzix butterfly dies
Stampin up sassy sentiment stamp
12x12 Ombre paper pad - the works
Oxide inks lemonade, campfire, twisted citron
Payper box soft gold pearl card

Thank you all for stopping by once again.  Hugs Emmax

Bird-day Owls

Good Morning everyone

Today is a fun DL (Slimline) gate fold card, using those fab katzelkraft owl stamps again.  Ive teamed them up with some woodgrain paper to give a birdhouse feel

Approx size 8x4"  After folding my card i cut paper to fit and stencilled on some detail with green oxide in. I attached to the found and rounded all the corners.  I stamped my owls and coloured with inktense pencil.  Foliage border die cut from green brusho card and added to the bottom of the card and then i arranged my owls.  Die cut sentiment from black and white card to finish.

Peeking into the inside...

I covered the inside with a 'woody' paper, added stencilling and some die cut ivy as i think they would have a little ivy growing on the inside of the bird house😀 3 more owls. I added glossy accents to all the eyes.

Items Used
Katzelkraft owl stamps 'les super chouettes' KTZ237
Memory box fern border die
Ivy dies
Sizzix die - bird-day
Altenew leaf burst stencil
Poundland paper pad
Derwent inktense pencils
Distress oxide ink - lucky clover

Thank you all for stopping by and all your comments last week.  Hugs Emmax

Men's Fashion

Good Morning everyone, i hope you are having a good week.

Its time for a new challenge over at cardz4guyz, the theme this fortnight is

MEN'S FASHION

So a real challenge for me too, i don't really have any stash for this theme but came across a sheet of paper in a 12x12 paper pad i got from B&M.  Its printed on kraft background so i decided to use Kraft card as my base and a gatefold, with the kind of wardrobe idea.

A4 gatefold made from Kraft card. I rounded the middle corners.  I found some bluey papers in my stash to use, which i layered onto the front panels., i then cut out from of the icons and a dapper looking chap, inked the edges with vintage photo distress ink.  I arranged these on the front.  Threaded some brass buttons with blue twine and added to embellish.  I then added some chit chat stickers saying
Create Yourself Be Original.

Another view of the front, peeking into the inside

So the inside of my 'wardrobe'   I layered pattern papers onto the panels and more items of clothing etc.  I die cut the sentiment circle from white card and added the circle image of the chaps head - had the idea of being like a mirror or portrait.

This is the sheet of paper, so it came in useful.  The B&M paper pads are all great quality, almost thin card, and such varied designs in them.  They are all double sided so if you don't like one pattern you can use the other side.

Items Used:
Crafts You Create paper pad - 'Chic Vintage' by B&M
paper pad - 'Vintage Chic'  by poundland
MFT birthday sentiment circle die
Tim Holtz Chit Chat stickers
TH vintage photo distress ink
Kraft Card
Brass buttons

How funny, just realised both paper pads have similar names!

Anyway please do hop over to cardz4guyz to join in and see what everyone comes up with.

Enjoy your week. Emmax
