Retro baubles

Morning All

One of the old 6x6 paper pads in my stash was this lovely retro style by carta bella called 'Merry Christmas by Steven Duncan'  Which i decided it was about time i used, ive teamed it up with a very old spellbinders bauble die set

Card Sixe 6.5x6.5" I rounded the corners to pick up on the curves of the bauble.

I first die cut the largest bauble from the middle of a 6x6 pieces of paper, from this bauble i then die cut the star aperture wreath in the middle of it.  I did this from 2 different papers.

I matted one paper onto green holographic cardstock and then the card front.  The bauble from the different paper i then mounted into the middle aperture with glue gel having curved it slightly first.  The holographic dances through the stars in the bauble when the light hits it.  Sentiment die cut from white and matted onto larger circles die cut from plain papers from the pad and added to the centre of the star circle.  Die cut bow added to finish with a dot of gold glitter glue.

Trying to show the holographic and stars better - so hard to take decent photos of it.  I had inked all the paper edges with faded jeans distress ink, this helps the bauble stand out a bit more.

Version 2, this time i matted onto red mirror card which shimmers and shines through the die cut stars

This shows the inside, I used strips of the same papers used on the fronts and die cut a large bauble from plain paper and stamped the sentiment

Version 3 - this one also has red mirror card which sadly the photos don't show very well

Versions 4 & 5 - these are both matted onto silver holographic card which really dances in the light

and finally versions 6 & 7, these are matted onto a silver glitter card which also has touches of red, green & gold in it.

I was very pleased to use quite alot of this paper pad on this one batch.  My mum has lots of retro baubles and decorations, even some that were her mums which come out each year.  Now mum buys one new bauble each year for the tree.

Exploding insert Christmas cards

Good Morning everyone

Today is Christmas cards using a beautiful paper pad from a Polish company called 'paper heaven' pad called 'swiateczna girlanda' , i teamed them up with very old spellbinders bauble & poinsettia dies and added an exploding insert made using 12x12 Christmas paper pads from the works.

6x6" base card.   I first die cut the bauble and memory box collage die (one with little holes) from the centre of the paper, i then adhered gold mirror card to the card base front and added the outer frame of the paper with foam tape, i then adhered the bauble back in place, glued in flat, allowing the mirror card to shine though the holes from the collage die.  I then die cut a poinsettia and added to the centre of the bauble and die cut sentiment to finish.

For my exploding inserts i took a sheet of double sided 12x12" paper and folded using instructions from pinterest and glued into place.  Computer printed sentiment die cut into a bauble and a plain white paper bauble added to write our greeting on.

Trying to photograph it was interesting - hence my little light trying to hold it open, it does pop right out to easily write the greeting.

Showing it side on with the insert.

Version 2
This time instead of gold mirror card i used a rose gold glitter card that went well with the colours in the beautiful paper.

Version 3
The same but different, gold glitter card behind the holey apertures.  I added glossy accents to all the berries on the papers.

and the insert.  Id not left enough room around the printed sentiment to die cut into a bauble this time, so i die cut it into an oval and matted onto a gold glitter bauble.

I used this tutorial for my insert from Beccys Place blog as it was easy to follow with clear written instructions but more importantly for me clear photo step by step.  Actually its a lovely blog to take a look at when you have a minute - especially the a-z card folds page.
(I have no affiliation with the blog)

Paper Heaven pad 'swiateczna girlanda (christmas garland)
the works 12x12 paper pads 'classic christmas party' & the best time of the year'

  Memory box 'collage die'

Thank you all for stopping by once again.  I hope you all have a great week. Emmax

Winter wonderland

Good Morning everyone

Another small batch of Christmas cards using lavinia stamps on soft gold pearl cardstock....I am slowly making a dent in my coloured cardstock😀

approx size 5x7" I first die cut my base card from soft gold pearl cardstock using crealies arch dies, and cut a smaller panel.  From the smaller panel i die cut a bauble shape from the middle. To the outside frame panel i stencilled snow with tumbled glass oxide ink and stamped fir trees with green archival ink and i added this frame to the base card with 3d foam.

On the bauble i first stamped the wolf, then using paper masks i stamped the first trees to build up a little scene aroun him.  I added shading to ground the wolf and trees with black soot distress ink and a grey inktense pencil. I glued the bauble flat into the frame after inked the edges with the blue oxide ink.

I stamped the berries onto more pearl card, coloured red and added glossy accents and cut out, these i arranged at the top of the bauble to sort of give the effect the bauble is hanging from them.

I stamped the quote of more gold pearl card, cut out and added.  Glitter glue highlights to finish
A close up, you can make out the glitter here.  I love how the pearlescent still shines through when the light hits it.

Version 2 is the 2nd fox in the stamp set

Version 3 is using 2 hares

Items Used:
Lavinia stamps - 'fox set 2' 'wild hares' 'fir tree' 'winter berries' 'seasons change'
Spellbinders bauble die set
Crealies arch dies
Dot stencil
Soft old gold pearl card
Oxide inks tumbled glass
Distress ink - black soot
Archival ink - library green, jet black
Glossy accents
Stickles glitter glue - diamond

Thank you all for stopping by once again.  I hope you have a good end of the week and weekend.  Stay safe.  Hugs Emmaxx

Christmas Baubles

Good Morning all, i hope you had a good weekend.

Today im sharing a set of Christmas cards i made with a very old Spellbinders tree die ive had for eons, i teamed it with inky backgrounds id made and baubles die cut from all those little scraps of paper we amass.  The result is a white tree glistening with lots of glitter & nice glossy baubles.

Approx 4x6" finished size.  I first made a background on white card with a mix of brusho's & pixie powders, i then splashed on white acylic paint to appear as falling snow.  I then die cut the whole tree frame from white card, i added glitter glue to the tree and stamped the greeting.
To make my base card I folded white card in half and then place the outside frame die so that it sat over the spine and ran through my die cutting machine. I then attached my front panel to the card base.
I die cut baubles from paper, gently curved them and then attached to the tree, i doodled in ribbon string tying the baubles onto the branches.  I then added glossy accents to the baubles to give them a lovely shiny finish.

Showing it side on so you can see the shaped card base

2nd version, this time i added some lovely little bunny rabbits again die cut from little snippets of grey card.

This Version has a distress Oxide ink background and i used little left over pieces from the marbled paper i made earlier in the year for my glossy baubles.

I made several of these cards and they are all different as the backgrounds all vary and the papers i used for my baubles.

Items Used:
Spellbinders 'Just Swingin' S4-391
Spellbinders Heirloom Ornaments 2011
OI mini rabbits die
Various sentiment stamps
Brusho's
Cosmic shimmer pixie powders & shimmer shakers
Distress Oxide inks - pistachio, tumbled glass & twisted citron

Thank you all for stopping by once again and all your amazing comments lately, i always appreciate them.  Well life will be getting back to normal this week hopefully.  I hope you all have a brilliant week. Hugs Emma

LittleEm's Bauble branches!

Good Morning all, its a nice grey and wet day here.  So todays cards are a set of LittleEm's!  The wonderful Kathkat named them 2 years ago when i started these mini cards and its stuck!

Off cuts and scraps left over from making the gingerbread man cards. They are approx 3x6"

Papers are Authentique 'Believe' die cut into stitched squares, layered onto white card, card base is ginger from payper box.  Elizabeth crafts pine branch die, spellbinders bauble die, pearls to finish.  I covered the baubles in glossy accents to make them shiny. LOTV sentiment stamp.   I know you don't actually get berries on pine branches but its artistic license!

Thank you for looking. Emma
