Butterflies in an English Country Garden

Good Morning everyone

Summery cards with Uniko butterfly stamps, we have seen more butterflies around since the sun came out which is lovely.  The verse with this stamp set says 'Butterflies drift in the gentle breeze, in an English country garden'

6x6" white linen base card.  I cut a smaller piece of white linen card and stamped the butterflies with ombre ink, using 2nd & 3rd generation ink to give more faded butterflies in the background.  I then used a square frame die in the middle of this panel which gave me 3 pieces of the background, i adhered the outside and middle pieces to the card front flat and then the middle frame piece i attached with foam tape - this is just to add a bit of interest to the design

The butterflies i had left over from previous cards when i made up more than i used.  I stamped the butterflies onto vellum, added colour to the back with alcohol markers and cut out, adhere to plain white paper and cut around, using white on the back just helped them stand out and keep them clean looking.  I gently shaped their wings and added to the base with glue gel.

I stamped the verse onto more vellum, backed with white paper and adhered to the card front with foam tape.  Gold gems hide the glue on the vellum and gold gems on the butterfly bodies to finish.

Version 2.  I used distress inks to stamp the background butterflies in shaded lilac, tumbled glass, bundled sage & iced spruce.  I spritzed with water and dabbed, this gave a more muted subtle background than version 1.  Butterflies again left over from previous project, this time instead of adding the colour to the back of the vellum, i left the vellum clear and added the alcohol markers to the plain paper butterfly i had underneath - again this is a much more subtle effect.  I added glitter glue to the bodies and then sprinkled the gold gems about the background.

Uniko stamps 'English Country garden - butterflies'
Kaliedacolor ombre inkpad
Distress inks
MFT scalloped square frame die
Vellum

Dads Birthday

Good Morning everyone, i hope you had a good weekend.

I made these 2 cards for my dads birthday yesterday.

6x6 scalloped card.  I found this fab brusho background in my background stack, i cut it to fit the cardfront and then die cut both a inverted scallop square frame and the circle burst dies from the middle. Behind the circle burst i added gold mirror card - to give the effect of the sun shining, i added it to the card front, adding the square frame up on foam tape.

I then stamped Mr Crow twice onto white card, left one white and cut it it all out, from the 2nd one i coloured the cravat & hat with orange and cut out and added to the white version. Glossy accents added to his eye & goggles. I glued him into place slotting the bottom edge into the inside of the frame.

I then got die cut lots of leaves from scraps of papers in orange tones and a couple of gold mirror card swirls and arranged them around him with stamped sentiment to finish.

When i saw this stamp i bought it with the idea for my dads birthday as he has quite a few rooks that are friendly, every time he is in the yard or fields they come down to keep him company and they enjoy the fruity snacks he puts out for them, they are full of character.  Mum chose to give him this card as she loved it too.

and onto the 2nd card i made for me which i gave to him

6x6 Kraft stepper card.  I first die cut my stepper card using a very old presscut die set.  Id found a fab feather printed onto kraft paper background so lightly watercoloured around the feathers with oxide inks in blue tones, i then die cut it into the panel and attached to the front.

I stamped the owl twice onto more kraft card, i cut one out leaving a small border around the stamp frame which i inked up blue and matted onto a larger kraft panel and added to the card front. For the moon i painted it with silver mica powder and added glossy accents over the top.  From the 2nd owl stamping i cut out the owl and around the foliage and added to the topper with foam tape.

Stamped sentiment die cut into an oval & matted onto a larger oval inked with the oxide inks to finish

Hopefully you can make out the shimmer of the moon, using the silver mica powder its subtle until the light hits it.

aall&create 'dashing crow' stamp
woodware owl stamp 'lino cut hunting owl'
Clearly besotted sentiment stamp
Presscut stepper die set
Leaf die

Oh Camel-ye Faithful

Good Morning everyone.  Thank you for the amazing comments on my last card.

Today im sharing a fun set of Christmas cards, using these quirky camel stamps from hobbyart.  Ive kept the cards quite simple and just let the images stand out.

6x6 White base card.  Very unusually for me i covered the whole card front with patterned paper and no mats and layers, it just seemed to work better this time.   I then die cut a white frame and after working out where i would put it i stamped my greeting, i then attached the frame with foam tape to add some height.
I then stamped out the 3 camels and very simply coloured with alcohol markers.  I then stamped out the hats and tie and coloured with red wink of stella pens so they really shimmer in the light.   I then fussy cut everything out. I gently shaped the camels and slotted into the frame with glue gel.
I added glossy accents to their eyes and dots of pearl drops to the hats.  I also added touches of glitter glue to the background papers to add a touch of festive sparkle.

A close up on my camels - I rarely colour in images with my alcohol pens as im no expert at colouring and don't have the patience to build up all the layers but i enjoyed colouring these guys in.  I used warm greys for their fur. For the extra party hats and ties i used stamps from the Tim Holtz crazy birds accessories - they fit perfectly.

Just different paper in the background, blue eyeshadow on these guys and a bow tie.

Items Used:
Hobbyart stamps (CS178D) Oh camel ye faithful
Tim Holtz crazy birds accessory stamps
Various Designer papers
Scalloped frame die
Alcohol markers
wink of stella pens
Diamond Stickles glitter glue

Thank you all for stopping by once again.  I hope that you all have a great weekend.

Rare Breeds

Good Morning everyone.

Today im sharing a birthday card i made for one of my brothers birthdays.  On his farm he likes to work with rare breeds and has been a little part of a revival in a few of them. His dairy herd is a mixed bag of breeds and his 2 donkeys like to run with the herd too.  He has just taken on 2 pigs of a lesser breed.

This lot of Katzelkraft farm animals sure are a mixed bunch and very rare indeed with the lilac & green cow, purple pig and orange yellow donkey.  Mr Cockeral is a bit hyper and into everything and the lime, orange & pink duck has just lost the plot😁

7x7 scalloped card blank.  On a piece of white card i stamped out my animals, i didn't bother masking them as knew i would be decoupaging the front ones so that would hide any overlapped stamping.  I also stamped out the cow, pig and duck onto another piece of card.
I coloured them all simply with distress oxide inks. I then cut out the extra ones.
I mounted my topper onto black cardstock and added a die cut white frame with foam tape.

I cut a piece of white card smaller than my cardfront and embossed with a hessian effect embossing folder and lightly inked over the top with pale blue ink, i then attached to black card and my card base.

I then added my extra animals with glue gel with the duck right at the front out of the frame.  I computer printed my sentiment to say 'Rare Breeds.......Oh Yes Indeed'  in a funky font and cut out wonky, mounted onto black card and attached to the card front. I doodled in some borders and added glossy accents to the eyes to finish.

A close up of the motley crew.  My brother actually has geese and not ducks but no goose stamp in the set so went with the fabulous duck instead.

Items Used:
Katzelkrafts Farm animal stamp set
MFT frame die
Crafters companion hessian 8x8 embossing folder
Distress Oxide inks

Thank you all for stopping by once again, i hope you all have a wonderful weekend. Emmax

Poppy Birthday

Good Morning everyone.  I hope you had a good weekend.

Today im sharing a birthday card made with the lovely poppy die. Mostly made out of snippets and left overs again.   Always feels good to make a small dent in the scrap box😀.  That is my plan for this year to try and use as much of my scrap box as possible.......

5x7 White cardblank. For the background i started with 2 pieces of small card, the green script piece and blue polka dot, in the end i cut the green piece in half lenghtwise and the polka dot in half shortwise.  This just meant as i knew they would be part hidden behind my topper that i could 'stretch' them to make the pieces look bigger.  I mounted them onto a piece of chocolate birthday script card and then the base.

The white window die cut was left over from my Christmas cards.  I backed it with a piece of beige birthday card.  I die cut poppies from red and yellow left over pieces.  The red is candied apple oxide ink and the yellow is fossilized amber and marmalade oxide inks, they had been stenciled over the top in the same oxide inks.  I added one whole poppy die cut to the left panel and then made up the rest and the yellow ones by cutting the die cut poppy up into the poppy heads and then arranged them in the window panels.

Green foliage die cut from green inked card scraps and mini butterflies also from little scraps of blue inked cardstock. Glitter glue highlights and gems to finish.  I haven't added a main sentiment as the background is covered in Happy Birthdays to get the message across.

Close up, you can really see the stencil detail in the poppies.

Items Used:
Pennyblack Poppy die
MFT window frame die
Memory box tiny butterfly dies
Foliage die
Birthday printed card, polka dot card - Anna Marie designs
Oxide inks
Stencils
Stickles glitter glue, diamond & waterfall

Thank you all for stopping by, i always enjoy reading your comments too.  I hope you all have a good week.  Hugs Emma

Make My Monday #60 - Happy Christmas

Good Morning all and welcome to a new week.

Its once again time for a new challenge over at Make My Monday  and the countdown to Christmas has begun with the theme of

Happy Christmas / Happy Holidays

Ive made a quirky fun card using my new paperartsy stamp set. Im seem to be going through a quirky stage with images.

A5 white cardblank. I first stamped the images and simply coloured them with inktense pencils.  I added glossy accents to the eyes and rudolph's nose and then cut them out.  I die cut a frame backed with white card and the stamped sentiment.  Dry embossed background, ive matted them all onto multi-coloured paper.  I mounted the frame with 3D foam and slotted the characters in to look like they are peeking out.

Close up.

Items used:
Paperartsy -Elenazinski Art 'ZA19'

Floral Birthday Set

Good Morning All, i hope you are having a good week.

So today i am sharing another Card and Matching chocolate wrapper set.  On a roll with these at the moment.

A5 white cardblank.  I then coloured white card with various distress oxide inks and die cut alot of flowers, butterflies and foliage.  I also used the same oxide inks to colour a background which i matted behind a white dry embossed panel.

Computer printed sentiment which i backed behind a die cut frame.   Then arranged all my flowers and some gold die cut foliage. Glitter glue accents to the centre of the flowers.

I first wrapped the chocolate bar with a pale blue ombre backing paper. Computer sentiment.  I used just one part of the frame this time to frame the sentiment.  Arranged left over flowers.

Just showing them together.  This was my first outing with Distress Oxide inks, i put off buying any as did i really need more inks.....well turns out that yep i do, so more colours on the way and hopefully time in the new year to really play with them.

Items Used
Distress Oxide Inks - twisted citron, picked raspberry, fossilized amber, peacock feathers, cracked pistachio, candied apple.
MFT Frame die
Spellbinders m-bossibilities EL-006
