Creative Creases Aug

Good Morning everyone

This is my 2nd post this morning, if the scheduling goes to plan

I am honoured once again to be Guest DT over at Creative Creases where anything goes with a fancy fold.

I decided to try one of the many fancy folds on my 'to try' list and make a hexagon pop up card.  After reading a few step by steps online I ended up using the one from beccys place as it was clear and easy to follow

Ive used 2 stamp sets, one leafy one from aall&create and a lovely quote from inkalicious and one ink pad which is an ombre one.

I first cut and folded the card from white linen cardstock.  Onto another piece of white I multiple stamped the leafy background stamp with an ombre ink which has lovely shades of green from lime through to a greeny blue. I then cut the panels out to fit the 6 sides of the base.  I die cut the rest of the leafy background sheet with a leafy sprig die.  Onto a white die cut circle I stamped the quote and then framed it with the die cut leaves

3 acetate butterflies to finish

Such a lovely quote... there is something very peaceful and calming about being surrounded by nothing but nature.  I love the effect of die cutting the leaves from the leafy background stamp, makes an interesting finish to them which is also softer than a solid colour would be.

On the back of the card I lined up a smaller white die cut circle with the one on the front and then added a smaller circle die cut from a pale paper for a place to write the greeting.  I also lined the inside panels with a green paper to give a more finished look.

Just showing it side on

and it folds completely flat for posting which is great.

Items Used
aall&create stamp #556 'leaves'
Inkilicious stamp 'forest quote'
CheeryLynn Foliage die
acetate butterflies (ebay find)
Kaleidacolor Ombre ink pad 'caribbean sea'

Creative Creases

Good Morning everyone

Im honoured today to be guest designer over at Creative Creases which is a fabulous challenge that celebrates fancy folds

Ive gone with a new to me fold, no idea what its called as I found one picture on pinterest but it wasn't linked to the original poster and no end of searching I couldn't find the original to credit them...If it was you thankyou😀
I tweaked it to easily fit on A4 card.  Its a lovely way to use up some of an old patterned paper pad which went perfectly with my little lemon girl aall&create stamp to make a fun summery card to brighten a grey wintry day🍋

This shows the front of the card and it opened out inside.  For want of a name Im calling it the triangle pop out for now!
Approx size closed is 3.5x5"  After making my card from white card I matted a lemon paper onto green paper and added to the front.  I used a strip of the same paper used inside and added across the front, a die cut white oval and then my lemon girl which id stamped and watercoloured with distress inks.  I added her on a wobbler for extra fun.  Stamped the easy peasy lemon squeezy from another stamp set onto white and cut out.  Glitter glue highlights and yellow enamel dots to finish the front.

The inside, I used more papers from the same pad and matted onto green.  I add a white oval to the right side to write the greeting on and a stamped sentiment to the right which reads 'wishing you a day full of happiness' which i die cut into a circle and matted onto a larger inverted scalloped circle die cut from yellow to give the effect of the sun

Its def been the year of the wobbler for me, but they add such a fun element and ideal with a fun character too....plus its a pack of 50 so plenty to use!

and showing the outside & back of the card, i used the same papers on the back as the front.  This is a good fold that stands up nicely for display purposes too - nicely balanced.  The hardest bit i found was cutting the mats and layers for the triangular folds which are far from perfect and is why i decided not to decorate the back folds as well🤣

Instructions for the fold
Cut a piece of A4 card to 12.5cm ( 5.5") wide.  So to limit measuring etc for those of us who use A4 in the UK which is an odd length I found it easier to first score the A4 in half using my score board A5 line, then from that centre score line mark 3cm either side and 6cm out either side.  Then score on the diagonal the 3cm marks out from the centre - fold these as mountain folds.  Score & fold the 6cm out from centre marks as valley folds.  The centre fold is also a valley.  Hope that makes sense.

If not using A4 cut your card to 28cm long and mark at 8cm, 11,14,17 & 20cm and fold the lines as above.

Items Used:
aall&create stamp #1021 'lemon'
LOTV circle sentiment stamp (very old)
Studio Light stamp set #427 'lemon squeezy'
Studio Calico 6x6 Paper pad 'lemonlush'
Spellbinders oval, circle & inverted scallop circle dies
Distress inks - squeezed lemonade, twisted citron, lucky clover, hickory smoke
altenew enamel dots
CraftUk ltd smooth white card

Please do hop over to Creative Creases for more inspiration and join in with your fancy fold projects.  I hope you all have a lovely weekend. Emmax

Cats on books

Good Morning everyone

Today im sharing a card I am honoured to make for guest DT for

So i dug out my Katzelkraft cat stamps and had a play.   Each time i looked at these cats on books stamps i kept thinking about a library so ive built a little library room for them to enjoy.

Card size 6x7"  I found an old 6x6 paper pad in my stash which was ideal for a wood paneled wall and some of the papers had these small photo images, clock, suitcases and little newspapers so they were ideal to build up my little scene.  Sorry i don't know the name of the paper pad or make as its long lost its cover.

I stamped the cats and watercoloured with inktense pencils and then cut them out.  I added a couple of cat words on the spine of a couple of books with a black fine liner for a bit of fun.

I matted a wood panel and soft green patterned paper onto the card front.  I worked out where i wanted the cats and then arranged the scene with clock and pics on the walls and a pile of suitcases sat on the floor - these were all cut out of one of the papers and i inked the edges with vintage photo distress ink.

I then glued the cats into place with pinflair glue gel.   From one of the papers i cut out 2 mini newspapers, one i rolled up and i glued them onto the floor.  Tim holtz chit chat sticker 'attitude is everything' to finish.

My old cat never just sits on the floor, she has to have something underneath her, so when she first arrived it was anything i'd briefly put down on the floor, so yep books, newspaper etc, so now she has a little foot stool in each room to perch upon and lord it over the rest of them.  So these cats on books remind me of her.
Here you can see the little newspapers, i just rolled the top one up for a bit of interest

I also decorated the inside of the card with papers from the same pad, a die cut oval and another one of the cat stamps from the same stamp set.   I made the cardbase and the oval from cream cardstock instead of white as it went better with the vintage feel of the paper pad.

Items Used:
Katzelkraft stamp set 'cats on books' KTZ295
6x6" paper pad
Derwent inktense pencils
Tim Holtz chit chat stickers
