Dad

Good Morning everyone

The 2nd card i made for my dads birthday is a building block fold using rat stamps from Katzelkraft which i teamed up with a pipe die to give the feel of them living among the pipes where its nice and warm for them😀

I made my base card from Kraft card and matted woodgrain paper onto green paper and then the base. I die cut the pipe die several times from gold satin cardstock and built it up over the card, i used one whole one in the middle and chopped up another for smaller pieces that i added on.

Screw heads die cut from orange mirri card and added to the corners

I watercoloured the rats with green and orange distress inks, cut out and arranged into place.

Showing it opening up, i used alpha dies on green paper and orange mirri card to spell out dad on one side of the block and die cut mini tools from the gold satin for the other side.  Die cut sentiment from more gold satin to finish

showing the other side of the blocks and panel

I had 3 rats left so made this card for my box

A5 kraft card base.  I die cut the pipes from a mat gold this time.  Sizzix birthday sentiment die cut from orange mirri card to finish.

Items Used:
Katzelkraft stamps 'ktz179' Les Rats des ville
pipe & tool dies
Spellbinders nuts & bolts die
Sizzix sentiment die
Papers from the works*
Kraft card
Distress Inks - twisted citron, rustic wilderness, wild honey, ripe persimmon

Cats on books

Good Morning everyone

Today im sharing a card I am honoured to make for guest DT for

So i dug out my Katzelkraft cat stamps and had a play.   Each time i looked at these cats on books stamps i kept thinking about a library so ive built a little library room for them to enjoy.

Card size 6x7"  I found an old 6x6 paper pad in my stash which was ideal for a wood paneled wall and some of the papers had these small photo images, clock, suitcases and little newspapers so they were ideal to build up my little scene.  Sorry i don't know the name of the paper pad or make as its long lost its cover.

I stamped the cats and watercoloured with inktense pencils and then cut them out.  I added a couple of cat words on the spine of a couple of books with a black fine liner for a bit of fun.

I matted a wood panel and soft green patterned paper onto the card front.  I worked out where i wanted the cats and then arranged the scene with clock and pics on the walls and a pile of suitcases sat on the floor - these were all cut out of one of the papers and i inked the edges with vintage photo distress ink.

I then glued the cats into place with pinflair glue gel.   From one of the papers i cut out 2 mini newspapers, one i rolled up and i glued them onto the floor.  Tim holtz chit chat sticker 'attitude is everything' to finish.

My old cat never just sits on the floor, she has to have something underneath her, so when she first arrived it was anything i'd briefly put down on the floor, so yep books, newspaper etc, so now she has a little foot stool in each room to perch upon and lord it over the rest of them.  So these cats on books remind me of her.
Here you can see the little newspapers, i just rolled the top one up for a bit of interest

I also decorated the inside of the card with papers from the same pad, a die cut oval and another one of the cat stamps from the same stamp set.   I made the cardbase and the oval from cream cardstock instead of white as it went better with the vintage feel of the paper pad.

Items Used:
Katzelkraft stamp set 'cats on books' KTZ295
6x6" paper pad
Derwent inktense pencils
Tim Holtz chit chat stickers

Dads workshop

Good Morning everyone

I made this bench fold card for my dads birthday, its the 1st time ive made one of these folds and i used up random stuff from my craft stash to build the scene.  I found a template on pinterest and then just sized it up to make an A5 sized bench.  Also known as a shelf card.

I made all the bench elements and base from 350gsm brown cardstock so its nice and sturdy.  I found several wood themed papers in my stash to cut to fit the panels and inked all the edges brown.  The drawer fronts i cut out of a paper and added with foam tape for some dimension. I added various tools, both die cut from card and little metal ones.  2 chipboard cats i covered with black cadence dora paint so they shimmer a bit, but also it gives them a bit of texture.

Showing it from above, on the bench i added some little seed packets, newspapers, tools - all things you do find on my dads workbenches, including the cats

metal charms added to the back panel with metal brads

And a box for it, as although these bench fold cards do fold flat in the past my dad hasn't quite worked out how to display fancy fold cards so i decided to just give it to him in its finished upright position😀

All the items i used for this have been in my stash for a very very long time so not sure on the makes of most of it, the wood pattern papers are a mix of very old paper pads from docrafts & poundland.

Thank you all for popping by once again.  I hope its a good weekend for you all.  Keep warm. Hugs Emmaxx

Thank you

Good Morning everyone

Today im sharing 2 thank you cards for the lovely birthday gifts i was given.  Using up left over snippets & die cut leaves after making my brothers 40th birthday card (will show that once he's had his birthday)  All papers from the same pad which i teamed up with dark brown cardstock.

I first made the 6x4.5" cardblank from dark brown card, then matted a cream woodgrain onto a mustard card and then the base.  I inked the edges of the paper strips with brown and played around until happy with the layout of them.  To make some longer i cut in half as knew the middle would be hidden behind my sentiment topper.
I stamped the sentiment onto cream woodgrain card and die cut into a circle, matted onto a dark brown circle. I then arranged some leaves which had inked edges and been shaped, i attached them with glue gel so that they aren't flat on the card.

You can see the woodgrain background better in this one

Version 2 is 6x5.5" in size

Items Used:
Paper pad - carta bella 'A perfect Autumn'
Thank you stamp - magazine freebie
Tim Holtz funky foliage dies
Foliage dies
Circle dies
Payper Box - Brown, ochre & cream woodgrain cardstock

Thank you all for stopping by.  I hope you all have a good week.  Hugs Emmax
