WLS Dec #2 - Winter

Good Morning everyone

Time for more inspiration for We Love Stamping where the theme this month is WINTER or you can always go with the anything goes theme as long as stamping involved.

Ive made a little warming treat for a friend, a little pouch with a couple of hot chocolate sachets in.

Ive used this little hot cocoa kitty stamp from aall&create who is all cosy in his little jumper. I stamped him onto white, watercoloured with distress inks and cut out.

I used my score board and made a little pouch big enough for the hot chocolate sachets from green paper.  I then die cut 3 tags from off cuts of green and red papers to match the colours in his jumper.  I adhered the tags together, off setting them so you can see all 3 at once.  I die cut some little cups from white card and adhered in a stack of 3 on the smaller tag & added the kitty with glue gel.

I stamped the 'hot cocoa' onto white and matted onto green, white and then the tag.  I punched a hole in the top of the tag.

I punched 2 holes in the top of the pouch and tied on the tag using red & white bakers twine.

Just a close up

This makes a nice little get well pick me up for a friend who likes Chocolate.................can't stand the stuff myself, just the smell of anything like hot chocolate or chocolate cake turns my stomach😒

Tartan Christmas cards

Good Morning everyone

Today is a batch of Christmas cards. I was given this lovely papercuts die for my birthday & thought it would be ideal with this tartan cardstock for many years.

Card sise 6x5" I made my cardbase from the tartan cardstock.  Then die cut the bauble die cut from both white card and gold mirror card, i offset them so that the gold just gives a drop shadow and then attached to the top of the cardfront.  I Also added a strip of the gold mirror card to the top edge and a stripe of the tartan towards the top of the white panel.

I die cut the sentiment from the white card and gold mirror, off set and adhered to the card front.  Stickles diamond glitter glue added to the baubles for extra Christmas sparkle.

Version 2 using the 2nd tartan in the pack, there were 5 sheets of both the red & green so i made 10 cards like this.  Nice and simple, the papercuts die is ideal for quick but effect cards - this die cuts nicely through 300gsm in one pass too so no faffing about😀.

Items Used:
Creative Expressions papercuts die 'bauble garland edger'
Joyscrafts seniment die
Tartan cardstock (very old, supplier no longer trading)
CraftsUK ltd white linen cardstock
Gold mirror cardstock
Ranger stickles 'diamond'

In the Autumn Woods

Good Morning everyone.

When i saw the challenge over at the male room and the quote it sparked my little grey cells  into whirling and i came up with this.  I started with a piece of printed clock paper and added my background over the top of that and it worked really well. And im always happy making a mens card - this will be perfect for several that i know who love their nature.

Approx size 5x7"  I die cut my cardblank from kraft card for a more rustic wood feel, i then die cut my piece of patterned paper smaller, i sprayed with water and sprinkled on brushos in turquoise and a touch of sea green to give a nice sunny sky feel - as its thin paper i was careful not to over saturate it with water.  Once it was completely dry i stencilled on some dots with rich gold paint and some triangles with amber and marmalade oxide inks, i edged the panel with more of the gold paint to give a gilded effect edge.

I die cut the leaf wreath from kraft card and extra leaves from kraft card, gold mirror card and yellow/orangy/red card - all autumnal colours.  The middle piece that came out of the kraft wreath I stamped a woodgrain on with grey ink, i added this flat to the card and then added the wreath with foam pads for dimension and then arranged all the extra leaves. I stamped the greeting onto a strip of kraft card and edged with gold paint and added to the bottom of the card.  I stamped my owl and coloured with inktense pencils and cut him out, gently curved him and added with glue gel.

I added glossy accents to the eye of  my fab owl.  Id also edged the kraft wreath with the gold paint - it really shimmers in the light.

You can really see the background here, i love how the printed pattern of the clocks and script on the paper still comes through the brushos.  The lovely quote is by Inkylicious.

Tea's Up

Good Morning everyone from a lovely wet Cornwall.

So today im sharing the card i made for my mum for Mother's day.  I went with a tea theme this year as she does love her cup of tea!

First i made the table/table cloth using patterend paper and curved border die, cut some table legs from dark green card.  Die cut and paper pieced the cups, teapot and jug from various papers and dark green card to match the colours in the tablecloth.
I added glitter glue accents to the flowers.  6x6" size.

This shows the dimension i added to the table cloth, and as i wanted the china to be sat on the table i used lots of glue gel,  I die cut a small spoon and fork in silver mirror card and placed on the top top.

Again showing the table top, also as the front was quite heavy to counter balance i used the same papers to layer up for a matching insert.

Im pleased to report mum loved it.

Items used:  Patterned papers B&M 'springtime bouquet'
Joy crafts teapot & cups die set
Xcut 'tea party' die set
Spellbinders scalloped borders 2 (S5202)
