Card box set

Good Morning everyone

I made up 2 box sets as Christmas presents for non cardmaking friends.  I used the Katzelkraft farm animals stamps, brushos & pixie powders for the backgrounds and tim holtz snarky chat stickers

I used A3 cream card to make my box and then decorated the sides and tops to make it sturdier.  On the top i stamped all the animals from the set using an ombre ink pad and stamped quote.

5x7" white cards.   I first die cut stitched rectangles from white cardstock, then stamped the animals in black.  I then did brusho backgrounds, by first stamping the character in place it gave me an idea where i could use different colour brusho's for the sky and ground areas.  Once dry i doodled in the ground for them to stand on and a few little details to make up a scene. I used gel pens, alcohol markers & paint pens to add colour to the doodled scene.   I mounted the topper onto black cardstock and added to the base card.  I used small strips of card coloured with the same brusho's to add interest

I stamped the animals again onto white card and added a little shading with distress inks, i wanted to keep them mostly white so they stood out against the really colourful backgrounds - plus as you know i dislike colouring in greatly😀.  I cut them out, gave a little shape an added with glue gel on top of the original one stamped on the background.

I picked a chit chat sticker for each one to finish.  I did 2 for each animal, so one for each box set

Cat & Bird Card Box Sets

Good Morning all, i hope you had a good weekend.

Today im sharing 2 box sets ive made as gifts.

The first one is using 2 different cats stamps from Zinski art and the second set is using the Crazy bird stamps.

I decorated the lid of my box with the cat stamps.

I first stamped the cat, doodled in a ground and coloured with wink of stella pens.  I lightly watercoloured blue background and green to the grass.  Die cut into a doublestitched rectangle.  Stamped greeting. Then matted onto black card and coloured card to match the topper colour.

Im on a mission this year to use up some of the hundreds of coloured card ive amassed over the years!

As above, the 2nd zinski art cat  stamp, again coloured the same way and matted onto purple card to match the wink of stella pens.

And below shows all cards i made for the set

This shows all 8 of the A6 (4x6) cards i made for the set.  The sentiment stamps came free with a magazine, but i like how they are all different fonts.  This set is for a friend who has a couple of cats and no birthday cards in the set as she always asks me separately to make those.

and below on to the birdie set

Basically the same as the cat set just using the Tim Holtz crazy birds, as their is 6 different birds and i made 8 cards i used a couple of the birds twice.  This set does have a couple of birthday cards in it.

Again i coloured them with wink of stella pens, shame the photos don't pick up the amazing sparkle they have.

I kept the cards completely flat for ease of posting.

Items used
Paperartsy Zinski art Mini stamps
Tim Holtz crazy bird stamps
Sentiment stamps
Wink of stella pens
Distress inks tumbled glass, cracked pistachio & lucky clover
Double stitched rectangle dies
Coloured card by payper box
Glossy accents

Thank you for stopping by and all your comments last week, also thank you to all of you that are following me by email.  If you are off for half term this week i hope you enjoy it, i shall be spending time with my lovely nieces.  Enjoy your week. Emma

Crazy pups & kitties

Morning Everyone

So today im sharing a box set i made with the Tim Holtz mini crazy cats and dogs.  My first outing for most of them, had fun colouring them in crazy colours to add a splash of colour to mainly black and white cards.

After making the box and lid i covered it with white panels which id stamped the cats and dogs on, 12 cards to a box with envelopes

below is a close up of some of the cards

A6 black card blank, clearly besotted sentiment stamps, i did a mix of sentiments for the box and 6 cats and 6 dogs.  For the toppers i used sizzix Polaroid dies, cut in white, i then stamped and coloured the images onto the middle section, layered back into the frame and mounted on black cardstock.

Below showing the full menagerie! All watercoloured with distress inks, some i doodled a little scene to ground them, a couple of the cats with butterflies, i just used a black micron pen for that.  I shaded around them with a light grey promarker and also the outside edge to give depth in the frame.  Had great fun going crazy with the colour combos. Glossy accents on all noses and eyes.

Distress inks used, squeezed lemonade, wild honey, ripe persimmon, salty ocean, twisted citroen, raspberry, cracked pistachio, clover, seedless preserve, fired brick, peacock, shaded lilac.

Thank you for looking. Emma
