WLS Sept#1 - Cute

Good Morning everyone

Time for a new challenge over at We Love Stamping where the theme this month is

CUTE
So right out of my comfort zone , if cute is not for you, you can always go with the anything goes option as long as you use stamping

Looking through my stamps I don't have many that are cute, but found this cute mouse image that a friend had stamped and sent to me which is called Ballerina Mouse by Pink Ink designs.  I thought it would be ok for my niece Charlottes birthday.

6x6" card which I made from acetate.  After colouring the mouse with alcohol markers i went searching for a paper and found this one with rainbow tones which also picked out the pinks, purples and blues in the colouring.  I folded it and adhered inside the acetate card so that is shows through.

I die cut a frame from teal and white card and added to the front with foam tape, i die cut circles from the same colours and adhered flat in the middle, to this I added the mouse on a 'wobbler' so she dances around.  I then computer printed the sentiments die cut into fishtail banners and added to the front with glue gel.

2 pink glossy hearts added to the sentiments and glitter glue added to the wings to finish.

(After finishing and looking at it a while I realised that if I had thought it through I would have cut the backing paper so the circles were more even on each side.... which I could have done as it was a 12x12 paper but Im sure my niece won't even notice that)

The wobbler gives lots of dimension

Whenever I make an acetate card and added a paper insert, i will always add the frames and such to the front first as i then add the glue behind these to hold the insert in place, therefore no glue shows through the acetate.

Charlotte decided she wanted a recorder for her birthday so we all needed ear plugs! lol

Pink ink stamp 'ballerina mouse'

MFT fishtail banner dies

WLS Aug #2 Flowers - foxgloves

Good Morning everyon

Time with our mid month inspiration for We Love Stamping where the theme is

FLOWERS
So a nice easy theme this month, but we always have the anything goes option too as long as you use stamping

Ive made a little wall hanging picture using strong printed acetate from Stamperia as the base

A5 size. I first did the background which you can see below with photos.

I then stamped the Pink Ink foxgloves onto white card, watercoloured with derwent inktense penciils and cut out.  I also stamped bee using a stamp set from chocolate baroque and cut out, I did all the stamping using purple ink so its softer than black.

I stamped the sentiment using a paperartsy JFOY cut out and adhered with pinflair glue gel.

From green brusho coloured card I die cut memory box pine foliage border twice, off set and added to the bottom so it looks like the foxgloves are growing out of it. To finish i punched holes and set green eyelets in the top and threaded with green waxed cotton so it can be hung up

The printed acetate has a lovely shine to it and adds a different texture

I gave the foxgloves and pine border a coat of mod podge to seal them

I first cut the printed acetate to A5 size and rounded the corners with my WRMK corner chomper - I did this so that less chance of injury as its very stiff and corners quite sharp if caught.

I then added torn strips of washi tape here and there - this aall&create tape has similar tones in purples, teal and green.  Then stencilled on foliage in a vintage white matt acrylic paint this helped to break up all the glossy shine from the solid acetate.  I then stencilled on smaller foliage with green and fuchsia dora paint which has a beautiful shimmer to it.  I added some green acrylic paint across the bottom where the foxgloves would be growing out from.

To finish I edged the whole panel with fuchsia dora paint to frame it

This is the acetate before use  - clear prints from Stamperia range 'Sleeping Beauty'

July #2 Sun, sea & sand

Good Morning everyone

Mid way through July so time for another post for We love stamping where the theme is

SUN, SEA &/OR SAND
We always have the anything goes option as long as you use stamping as the main elements.

So plenty of options to go with.  Last time I went with more of a seaside image, this time i have gone deep under the sea using this lovely octopus stamp from Pink Ink.

8x6" white card base.  I first created a background with green brushos and pixie powders, once it was dry i stamped the octopus and turtles onto it using navy blue ink and cut them out, i used a paint pen to add details to the octopus for his suckers etc.. I stamped the shells onto scraps of inked papers and cut out.

As Im trying to use up old papers I found an old bobunny pad with a beach theme - I took a white paper with blue foil printed seaside words and inked over the top with blue distress inks so it looked more water like than the stark white it was - the foiling resisted the ink.  I took a sandy printed paper and torn along the top edge, i added this over the water and matted them onto navy card and then the base card.

I then added the octopus, turtles and shells with pinflair glue gel.

Sadly the photos don't pick up the shimmer of the mica in the octopus, but it is lovely when the light hits it and the blue foiled words in the background

Items Used:
Pink Ink designs stamp 'pinky inky'
Bobunny paper pad (ancient) 'boradwalk'
Brusho powders - lime, seagreen, emerald green
Cosmic shimmer pixie powders - red and peacock

JUNE #2 Close to nature

Good Morning everyone

Mid way through the month so time for more inspiration for We love stamping

This months theme is
CLOSE TO NATURE
or we always have the anything goes option as long as you use stamps

I decided to use the same shape circular dies as my first card and dug out an old Pink Ink Design stamp set with this lovely badger and dog rose stamps

Card size approx 8x8" I made my base card from 2 pieces of white card die cut with the largest die and joined with a hinge at the top.  I then added a layer of green background sprayed with cosmic shimmer airless misters, one was pearlescent so it has a subtle shimmer.

I then stamped the badgers out and the floral spray multiple times, watercoloured with derwent inktense pencils and out out.  I adhered 4 floral sprays around the frame with pinflair glue gel, adding a little shape to the leaves, I then slotted the badgers in behind the foliage.  The smaller badger I stamped in grey ink so softer in the background.

I added a dot of diamond stickles glitter glue to the flower centres for a little touch of sparkle to finish.

I added shape to the big badger with a large ball tool to give him a more rounded look.

Since taking the photos I have cut the whiskers off the smaller badger as they were annoying me - too bulky and distracting as he is supposed to be in the distance - promise it didn't hurt him😀

Showing it stood up.  I trimmed a small amount of the bottom of the back of the card so it stands up nicely

Items Used:
Pink Ink design stamps - fauna series 'Brock'
Creative products dies - stretch circles
Cosmic shimmer airless misters
Derwent inktense pencils
CraftUK ltd A3 white card
Ranger stickles 'diamond'

WLS April fav stamp

Good Morning everyone

The first sunday of April so its time for a new challenge over at We Love Stamping

The theme this month is
FAVOURITE STAMP &/or RIBBON OR LACE
adding ribbon is now optional - boy did i struggle to add it in!!
or you can always go with the anything goes theme as long as its using stamps - physical or digital

Now this is a difficult theme -  choosing a favourite stamp - I have so many that are favourites for different reasons but my first choice was these 'thistlehogs' from Pink Ink Designs as each time I see them they just make me smile and lift my spirits.
I have a garden full of hedgehogs and who knows a few of these tiny thistlehogs may come out at night with the fairies, these guys are like the moths just flittering around in the dark😁

A5 white card blank.  I first stamped and watercoloured the thistlehogs with distress inks.  I then raided my stash and found this fab autumn skeleton leaf paper. So that the thistlehogs stood out more, I toned it down a bit by dry brushing antique white chalk paint over the top and added a little stencilling with pale teal chalk paints.  I cut it to size and matted onto pearlised teal card and then wrapped with my pale teal lace and peach satin ribbon and then added to the cardfront.
I added a bow from the same peach satin ribbon so that there was no question on the adding ribbon part! lol  Years ago i added ribbon to everything before i got into stamping, my style has changed alot since then.

I curved the bodies of the thistlehogs and added with pinflair glue gel.

I then raided my stash of chat stickers and came up with
'Sprinkle a little Happiness every where you go'

I had to make it up out of random left over chat stickers - hence it being every where as 2 words not one! I adhered them to white card, outlined with black pen and then arranged on the front.

You can see the dimension better at this angle.
I had stamped the thistlehogs onto the leaf paper as well so that i got all the extra swirly bits around them, these i added colour to with posca paint pens in peach and teal

I added a little diamond stickles to the wings so they sparkle in the light.

Every time i see one of 'my' real hedgehogs they make me smile, they have been out of hibernation for a couple of weeks now and it seems several have made the winter which is great......I had 6 trying to get at the food bowl in the porch.......I obviously need a bigger bowl for them😁

Items Used:
Pink Ink designs stamp 'thistlehogs'
Patterned paper 10+ years old
Tim Holtz Chit chat stickers
Stencils
Distress Inks ' evergreen bough, cracked pistachio, dried marigold, wild honey.
Plaid 'folk art' matt paint - #515 'vintage white' #6458 'ocean view'
Posca pastel paint pens
Papermania lace & ribbon
Ranger stickles 'diamond'
