Oh Christmas tree

Good Morning everyone

Its the first sunday in Novemeber so time for a new challenge over at We Love Stamping

The theme this month is CHRISTMAS so the ideal time to crack on with creating some Christmas cards, or if thats not for you we always have the anything goes option as long as you include stamping so do hop over to join in.

I got this fab woodware tree stamp in a sale which ive teamed up with some brusho and mica powder backgrounds

approx card size 5x7"  I first made backgrounds using green brushos and pixie powders for some mica shimmer, once dry i stamped the trees onto them and cut them out - these trees are a nice easy shape to fussy cut.

I die cut my card base from a dark green card and die cut a smaller one from white,  I then die cut in the middle of this white one with a smaller die again and then i dry embossed both white pieces in a 3d tree embossing folder - by essentially 'gutting' the middle of the larger white panel which i knew would be hidden it makes the cardstock go further and less weight for posting!  I also stamped the tree stamp onto the small panel before embossing so that the stems were on it and then paper pieced the green stamped trees into place.

I added the bigger white panel to the cardbase.  I added small offcuts of the green background and then added my topper panel over the top.  I edged the 2 white panels with diamond stickles glitter glue to add more Christmas sparkle. Stamped sentiment and gems added to finish.

Hopefully you can make out the embossing better in this one and the light hitting the pixie powders  which really do shimmer in real life.

I made 12 of this design, all the same but slightly different, the greens were much darker in this one.

Items Used:
Woodware stamp JG5534 'leggy trees'
LOTV sentiment stamps (very old & discontinued)
Nested dies
Sizzix 3d embossing folder by Kathrin Breen '665254'
Brusho powders - lime, sea green & emerald
Cosmic shimmer pixie powders - peacock, mango & red
Dark green cardstock
CraftUK ltd smooth white card

These lovely die by sweet dixi are the prize this month so do hop over to We Love Stamping  to join in

I hope you all have a great week.  Hugs Emmax

Oh Christmas Tree

Good Morning everyone

Today is a couple of Christmas cards using alcohol ink coloured mirror card and a glitter texture paste stencilled background which is very hard to capture in the photos😀

White linen card base.  I took a piece of white card and lavinia pods stencil with stamperia artic ice texture paste and put to one side to dry.  On gold mirror card i added various green alcohol inks.  Once both were dry i cut the icy background to fit my base card and added little piece of green mirror card behind top and bottom and adhered to base.  I die cut a wonky stitched square from green mirror card and a larger white linen card, i mounted both on the card front, along with another little offcut of of the green to the top to just help break up all the white.   I die cut a little tree from white and added to the green square.

Stamped sentiment die cut into a stitched circle adhered to the top left corner.  Green glitter dots to embellish to finish.

I think you can just make out the icy stencilled background, it really does sparkle in the light

and version 2, blue & purple alcohol inks onto silver mirror card.  I used a snowflake stencil and added the arctic ice direct to the card front.  Once dry i added a white die cut square and smaller square die cut from the blue inked silver mirror card. I added thin slivers of the blue mirror top and bottom. Stamped sentiment added with foam tape, i used a hole punch on off cuts of the mirror card to make little faux gems to finish.

I think you can just make out the snowflakes in the background and how the light really plays on the alcohol inked mirror card

Items Used:
Tree die - very old magazine freebie
Wonky stitched square dies
Stitched circle die
Tim Holt alcohol inks in blues and greens
Stamperia artic ice texture paste
Lavinia stencil 'pods'
Funky Fossil stencil ' snowflakes'
Clearly besotted sentiment stamp
LOTV sentiment stamp
CraftUK ltd white linen cardstock
Ranger stickles - lime

Thank you all for stopping by.  Emmax

Id love to enter my first card in the following:

Merry Christmas to you all

Good Morning everyone

Today im sharing my last Christmas cards of the year.  I used a tree panel die for the background and some of my alcohol inked mirror card for the reindeer

Size approx 4.5.5"   I first made a background with oxide inks and pixie powders.  This card essentially came about after a previous card  - see here -  to use up the left over trees.
I then die cut the tree panel from white card and adhered to a larger panel from gold glitter card.  I then paper pieced the green trees back into place. I adhered the first green panel to the base card and then the tree panel on top at an angle.
I die cut the reindeer from scraps of alcohol inked mirror card, mounted onto a die cut circle from vellum with stamped greeting to finish.

Just a close up,the photo doesn't really show the shine from the mirror card but i love the mottled effect using the pink & purple alcohol inks on silver mirror card gives.

Version 2 was red alcohol inks on gold holographic mirror card, you can make out the holographic shimmering.

Items Used:
Tree background panel die - unknown brand
MFT deer love die
Circle die
Oxide inks - pistachio, twisted citron, peacock feathers
Pixie powder
Tim holtz alcohol inks
Gold glitter card - B&M
Silver mirror & Gold holographic card - B&M
Vellum - papermania
White card - CraftUK ltd

Thank you for stopping by today and all your support this year.  Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy & Healthy new year.  Stay safe.  Hugs Emmaxxx

Welcome winter

Good Morning all

A bit of fun with lavinia stamps today, ive stamped onto white pearl cardstock as im still trying to make a dent in the pile...it has a nice shimmer when the light catches it which is ideal for a snowy scene.

Card size approx 5x7"   I first made my base card using crealies arch dies and also cut a panel smaller again to stamp my scene onto.  I first stencilled on some dots for snow with Lilac & violet oxide inks. I stamped the trees with library green archival ink, the tree branches with sepia & potting soil archival and the creatures with nocturn versaclair - this dried a little bit patchy but i decided it gave the appearance of feathers and fur so went with it!

I stamped 3 little lanterns hanging on the branches and added colour to them with yellow wink of stella pen so it sparkles in the light, using a brush i then added touches of the yellow to the scene to look like the light from the lamps were catching them. I also added glossy accents to the lamps to give a glass like effect.

Using pencils and distress inks i added some shadows and shading to give the image a little bit of depth, adding some of the purples used for my stencils snow.  I edged the topper panel with distress inks also
I stamped the verse onto more white pearl cardstock, cut it up and added, touches stickles glitter glue to finish

Version 2 is using one of the owl stamps

Items Used:
Lavinia stamps 'echo & drew' 'wild hares' 'crows' 'mini lamp' 'fir trees'
'seasons change verse' 'fern branch'
Crealies stitched arch dies
White gold pearl cardstock
Oxide inks shaded lilac, wilted violet
Distress inks - pine needles, forest moss, black soot, hickory smoke
Archival inks, library green, sepia, potting soil
Versaclair - black
Kuratake wink of stella pen - yellow
Charcoal pencil
Ranger stickles glitter glue
Glossy accents

Thank you for stopping by once again.  I have a few more Christmas cards to upload and share but have moved on to all the December birthdays i need cards for now.  I hope you all have a good week.  Hugs Emmax

Oh Christmas tree..

Good Morning everyone, i hope you are having a good week

Today is a couple of Christmas cards using a tree background die which i combined with glitter

I first made a background using oxide inks in shades of green, i then die cut the tree panel from it, attached to double sided adhesive sheet that id attached to cardstock and sprinkled over dark grey sizzix biodegradable glitter and burnished in.  I attached this panel to charcoal cardstock mat and then a white base card.

I die cut merry christmas from white card and another from the charcoal card i used for matting the tree panel.  Layered the sentiment onto an inverted scalloped circle coloured using the same inks as the background, then matted one onto a white circle and one onto grey and then a vellum circle.  I then attached to the bottom right of my card.  I added a little die cut glittered tree to the centre of my sentiment.

Triangle Trees

Hello everyone, thank you for stopping by once again.

Now i normally don't even think about Christmas cards until August/September but when i was playing the other day with my triangle dies and my marbled papers i was laying out the triangles in various ways to see what i liked and one of them looked like a tree i thought, so made a couple up.I think come September i shall make a few more.

5x7white cardbase.  I die cut a mixture of the small and large triangles from my marbled paper and the fancy top layer from white card and adhered together.  I cut a piece of white card smaller than the card front and dry embossed with a snowfall EF, i splashed on some of the same inks i used on the marbled paper.  I layered onto a piece of purple card and then the cardbase.

On a piece of white card i die cut a curved border edge die and a stitched line die.  I stamped the sentiment using colbalt archival ink.  I then die cut a few stars from the little left over pieces of marbled paper. I added one of the larger stars on top of the tree.  A few touches of glitter glue to finish.

A close up showing my pink, purple & blue marbled paper better.

Second version using marbled paper in blues & greens.

Items Used:
Altenew Shattered Triangle die set
Star dies
Stitched Curved border edge dies
Justrite sentiment stamps
Aquatint inks
crafters companion snow embossing folder

If you missed my marbling fun, you can find the details here

I hope you all have a good end of the week and weekend. Emma
