Flowers

Good Morning everyone.  Well i can't believe its the start of the school Easter Holidays.

Today im sharing 4 cards i made using left over paper pieces mainly from the same paper pad.  Also using beautiful Stamping Bella stamps that i won as a prize just before christmas from Di at Pixies snippets blog, thank you Di, these are my first stamping bella stamps and im very impressed with them.

First outing for them is paper piecing which is one of my fav techniques, i do find fussy cutting out relaxing - although not in front of the tv or you might need a trip to the hospital as i did many years ago😀.

6x6 White base card. I die cut a stitched square from white linen card smaller than my cardfront.  I stamped the flowers in black on the white panel where i wanted them.  I then stamped them again  onto various patterned papers and cut them all out.  Using a curved border die and some green paper i cut a piece to fit the bottom of my white square to act as the grass for my flowers to be growing out of. I edged the panel with green ink and attached to the basecard.

I inked the edges of my cut of flowers, curved them and added over the black image with glue gel to give them shape.  I added on some stamped leaves and glitter to the stamens.  Die cut a white sentiment and adhered to the grass panel and mini butterflies to finish.

Made the same way as the first one, just different paper snippets in use and a scalloped 6x6 cardblank.  Hello sentiment.

This one uses the other flower stamp and leaf in the stamp set.  Made the same way as above but this time i stamped the flower onto 2 different papers, so cut out the full flower from the dotty paper and then the centre part from a yellow gingham paper which i added onto with more glue gel for dimension.  I found these leaves a tad too delicate to fussy cut out so i stamped them onto the panel and coloured with pens.

and lastly, this one uses the same papers for the flowers as above, only the yellow gingham for the main and the dotty for the centre.  Get well sentiment.

Splat people! Children's birthday card

Good Morning All and welcome to a new week, i hope you enjoyed some sunshine at the weekend.

Today i am sharing a fun children's card i made.

5x7" black card base.  I cut lots of splats out of brusho coloured card, ideal for those left over bits!  I then layered several onto the background.  For the topper, I matted a white rectangle onto black card and stuck to the card for foam pads.  I used 3 different splats, added googly eyes, black pen legs and doodled on a mouth and eyebrows.  Black die cut sentiment to finish.

A close up of my little splatpeople

and below a little A6 card using the left over splats.

My 5yr old niece asked me to be her penpal, their teacher is trying to get them all to have a penpal to practice their reading and writing, a great idea i think, as Sophie also loves crafting i thought i would send a little card with my letter for her.  I will have to make sure my scrawl is neat and tidy for her😊

Motorbike male birthday card

Good Morning all, i hope you had a good weekend and all that rain we had missed you.

So for something completely different today, i had to make a birthday card for a older male family member, in his youth he loved his motorbikes.

First i die cut the bike in red gloss and black gloss cardstock, as the outside line of the tyre is so fine i wanted to back it with card to add stability, so i embossed the die only onto grey pearl cardstock, i then cut around the outside line.  I then glued the black gloss bike onto the grey one, sticking those fine outside tyre line not so easy, so don't look too close! lol I then cut parts off the red gloss bike off and glued on top, slightly offset so the black peeks through and adds more depth.

For the background i embossed sizzix framelits shape with spellbinders kicking rubber embossing folder, matted on black gloss cardstock.  I then die cut tim holtz corner from white cardstock and mattered again onto black gloss cardstock.  White A5 cardblank.  Sentiment die cut in red and black and cut in half to fit.

and one for the box using a different corner die in the background. and on this one instead of the black gloss card i used dark green mirror card.
