Charlotte is 4

Good Morning everyone.

My youngest niece Charlotte is 4 this month, which is scary.
She starts school in September.  Ive been spending alot more time with her in the last 12 months which has been lovely as with the covid lockdowns we didn't see her much in the first 2 years. She has a close connection & natural instinct with animals and nature so for her 2 birthday cards ive gone with an animal theme.

A twist n pop card.  Approx size 6.5x5.5"  I made the twist n pop out of white card and then found some lovely papers in my stash to decorate inside and out.  A lovely craft friend sent me the stamped giraffes & pandas a while back so im not sure which brand they are.  I coloured them with alcohol markers and cut them out.

I added the giraffes to the front with a stamped sentiment die cut into a speech bubble.

On the inside pop out i added die cut ovals to 3 panels and then the pandas. I computer printed the sentiment and die cut into ovals and attached.  I added a plain white oval to write the greeting on.

Just  a close up. Knowing Charlottes sense of humour she will love these characters.

Id love to enter this card in the following:

and card 2 is a little box full of butterflies

I found this lovely 12x12 paper full of printed butterflies, then the idea of them all flying out of a box.  I first fussy cut the butterflies, there were 2 sheets in the pad so i cut out both sheets so that i could have the same butterfly front and back.  I then cut half inch strips of thin acetate, i took 2 of the same butterfly and sandwiched the acetate inbetween, i then scored and folded the acetate and added the next 2 butterflies and so on, i added 15 butterflies in total.  I added lots of stickles glitter glues to the butterflies for some sparkle.

I added an eyelet to the top of the acetate strip and ribbon so that charlotte can hang it up and enjoy.

I then worked out what size box i wanted for it and made up out of cream cardstock, decorate with more pretty papers, added another butterfly on the top and computer printed sentiments to finish.  When you take the lid off the box the butterflies start to pop out with the spring in the acetate.

The box is 3x3x2" in size and the butterflies are 28" long

Just showing them hung up.  Yes the 2nd butterfly is upside down - after that hiccup i made sure all the rest were glued on correctly - Im sure Charlotte won't mind😁  Make&create paper pad from the works 'beau jardin' for the butterflies and little box.

Thank you all for stopping by.  Sorry ive not been round much lately, so much going on in my family recently and both of my brothers families and our parents are all moving home this summer so its a bit manic to say the least.  However it will be lovely once all finished as one brother and his family will be much closer to me so i will see those nieces more often.  Take care. This little piggy

Good Morning everyone.

A twist n pop card today using fab pig stamps from aall&create.  Ive teamed them up with a very old kaisercraft paper pad.  You can see previous twist n pop cards ive made here

This is the front of the card, very simple, matted and layered some of the papers from the paper pad with white and brown cardstock.

And inside.  I used a green paper from a 12x12 paper pad that toned in perfectly with the kaisercraft paper pad and looked like grass.  Again all matted onto brown cardstock. I tore stripes of the green paper for the pop out panels to give more of a grass feel.

I stamped the pigs onto white card and coloured with watercolour pens, i used a fineliner pen to add a little dress to the one of the left so she matches the one that already had an outfit. I then cut them out and added to the panels.  Stamped and added some of the words that are in the set to finish.

Because i dislike colouring greatly, i had stamped 2 sets of pigs and coloured at the same time so using the left over papers i made a DL card also.

White DL base card.  I added a panel of the green grass paper and then tore the pink clover paper and added what was a very small strip of the lilac paper behind, again with a torn edge to give a more natural feel.  Then arranged my piggies and a katzelkraft stamped sentiment to finish.

Items Used:
Aall&create stamps 'bacon'
Katzelkraft word stamps
Birthday circle die
Kaisercraft paper pad 'botanica'
The works paper pad
A3 craftUK ltd white card
Chocolate brown cardstock
Watercolour markers

Thank you all for stopping by once again.  I hope you all have a good end to the week and weekend. Hugs Emmaxx

Froggy twist n' pop card

Good Morning everyone.
Earlier in the year when i made my first twist n'pop i made up 6 of the mechanisms (see here) so they were ready to go when the inspiration hit - when i received these happy frog stamps i thought they would suit a twist n' pop perfectly.  I teamed them up with the gorgeous water theme paper pad from the works.

After attaching the mechanism to the inside of a white cardblank (5x6.5") i decided which papers i wanted to use, cut to size and matted onto navy cardstock and all the panels. I also covered the front of the card and from scraps of that paper i followed the lines in the print to cut little pieces for the bottom of my pop panels for my frogs to sit on.

I stamped out all the stamps many times onto white cardstock and watercoloured with distress inks and cut out.  I then got playing with the arrangements until i was happy.  I cut some of the petals of the extra waterlily so that it was smaller to fit on the smaller lily pad.

Of course i had to add glossy accents to the frogs eyes and glitter glue hightlights to the damselfly wings

This is just showing the twist and pop as it opens up - very clever the person who first designed it!

and the front of my card, i added glossy accents to the circles on the paper as they reminded me of bubbles and die cut letter for the 'pond life'    Looking at the expressions on all these frogs im not sure they are having that much fun in this pond😁  however i had lots of fun creating with themx

 Items Used:
Aall&create stamps #521 be hoppy
The works 12x12 Paper pad - fresh feeling
Alpha dies
Navy & white linen cardstock
Distress Inks - twisted citron, lemonade, evergreen bough, raspberry, persimmon, blueprint, shaded lilac
Ranger glossy accents & Stickles glitter glue

Thank you all for stopping by. I hope you enjoy the rest of the week and into the weekend.  Its scary that we are half way through October now.  Hugs Emmaxx

Twist n pop - under the sea

Good Morning everyone

Today im sharing my 2nd twist and pop card that I made for my sister in laws birthday.  I went with a seaside/ocean theme this time, teaming stamps up with a lovely Kaisercraft paper pad.  I was lucky enough last year to win a challenge and a voucher for Visible Image stamps so i bought the fab 'dare to swim' set.

Card size 6x5"  The front of the card, just using a paper and elements from the paper pad matted onto navy cardstock

And here it opens up.  I cut panels from the paper pad to fit the pop up sections and the top & bottom of the card and then i stamped onto them using the little fish in blue and bubbles with silver paint, inked the edges and attached to the card.  To the top and bottom i added paper ribbons that came in the paper pad and then a die cut white circle to the bottom for the greeting.
I then stamped the jellyfish and sea weed from the set, along with some shells, starfish & small seahorse using other stamps from my stash, i then coloured them all in and cut them out and got arranging.

I added touches of glitter glue to the little circles on the jellyfish

The little seahorse is hiding among the seaweed

Just showing how it all folds up - very clever.  I used instructions from here which were easy to follow and fit an A4 sheet.

and a little 5x5" card made with all the left overs with a lovely paper from the kaisercraft paper pad

Items Used:
Visible Image swim deep stamp set
Chocolate baroque seashell collage stamp set
Craft stamper freebies - seahorse & starfish stamps
Kaisercraft paper pad - Coastal Escape
Payper Box navy cardstock
CraftUk ltd white cardstock
Ranger stickles diamond, fruit punch

Thank you all for stopping by once again. I hope you enjoyed your bank holiday monday and the rest of the week.   Hugs Emmax

Male twist & pop

Good Morning everyone.

Today im sharing the card i made for my brothers birthday.  I made my first twist and pop design and went with a DIY & robot theme as his hobby is metal work, creating amazing things out of scrap metals.

Approx size 6x5"  Using a template from pinterest which took  me to this crafters blog and a very easy step by step twist&pop
I made the twist and pop mechanism from 300gsm white card and then the cardbase.  I then dug out some old papers with a metal plate design and trimmed to the size of the panels and attached. I then glued the twist and pop panel into the cardbase and covered those panels with the black nuts and bolts paper.

For the front of the card i die cut the sentiment and tools from white card and coloured with orange and blue alcohol markers, i also die cut the tools from silver mirror card, i cut off the coloured handles and glued onto the silver ones. I added the sentiment to a white circle and mounted them all on the card front.

I die cut the robots from white card and coloured with alcohol markers, grey for the bodies and a mix of blue and orange for their arms/legs etc.  I backed them with silver mirror card which shines through their eyes etc. I attached these to the pop out sections.

I did also add a die cut oval panel to the bottom to write the greeting on but forgot to take a photo after that.

A close up on the robots.

For  my first attempt with the twist and pop i was very happy with the outcome and i know my brother will be intrigued how it works - who ever created this first must have an amazing mind!

Thank you all for stopping by once again.   Stay safe everyone.  Hugs Emmax
