Easter egg cards

Good Morning everyone

Today im sharing a batch of Easter cards I made using these fab bird images again, I made a little shaped card with my oval dies for an egg like effect and dug out some lace and feathers.

Card size approx 4x5"  I cut 2 large ovals from kraft card, on one i scored a line half an inch from the top and adhered that bit to the back of the 2nd oval, thus making my card base.

I die cut a piece of white with gold foiled marbling into a fancy oval, added a little stencilling with chalky actylic paints in some teal & yellow and then added to the card front.  About a third of the way up i added some feathers - glued in place with pinflair glue gel and then added a strip of lace over the top which helped hold the feathers in place, hides any glue and gives somewhere for the birds to sit.

I then added the birds with glue gel and a stamped sentiment to finish.

Version 2

Version 3

Version 4

Version 5

Version 6 - I actually made 12 varieties, all slightly different colours and birds.  These digital birds come looking one way but I reversed them in my graphics program so that I could have them facing both ways. They were printed onto Craft Master digital card from Highlight crafts.

Items Used
Digital bird images from double helix digitals on etsy
Spellbinders grand plain ovals & grand fancy oval dies
Clearly besotted sentiment stamps 'seasonal sentiments'
Various patterned papers
CraftUk ltd kraft card
Feathers
Papermania lace
aall&create diamond stencil
Sunflower stencil
Plaid Folkart chalk acrylic paints

Thank you all for stopping by once again.  I hope you have a lovely weekend. Emma

The pumpkin patch

Good Morning everyone

So this year ive been in a real halloween vibe, I think as i did alot of crafting with my nieces in the summer holidays and for a few sessions they were making halloween items with air dry clay which also got my mum & myself joining in.  Its just good to make something a bit different.  So anyway i made a batch of 10 pumpkin shaped halloween cards

After looking on etsy for a digital halloween stamp i came across these amazing images which were just the thing.....of course it might have been the cats that convinced me 😺

So that i could fit 2 on an A4 sheet of card i die cut 2 sizes of ovals, so one set is slightly smaller.  Approx sizes are 7x5.5"  &  6.5x5"  I also used 2 different cardstocks, one is a bright orange pearl card and the other a more muted peach.  On the peach ones i used a soft sage green for the stalks and leaves.

After die-cutting my ovals i embossed them with a swirl embossing folder, then Inked the edges with vintage photo distress ink and adhered them together with the middle oval on the top.  I then drew around this shape with pencil onto more orange cardstock, cut out, scored a flap on the top edge and glued to the back of my pumpkins, this made my cardblank.

Die cut leaves from green, stamped the greeting and added a hand cut stalk to the top. The smaller pumpkins i gave 2 leaves and 3 for the bigger ones.

I then had fun arranging the images for my little scenes.

This is a rather majestic kitty with her witches outfit, candle stick, skull on books & pumpkin.  I added touches of stickles 'diamond' glitter glue so that each one has just a little sparkle

***

I die cut the tombstone into an oval added to the middle of the pumpkin with the ghosts

***

Sticker reads' An eccentric, but estimable gentleman'

This crow image is magnificent - such intelligent birds and the gentleman reminded me of a vampire, hence the coffin image i placed in the background

***

Now this one is a bit creepier, the stickers i chose read
'the young girl became possessed'    'Horrible sight'  'The Jack O'Lantern'

I added some green star gems to this background

***

Heres another creepy little girl - reminds me of one of my nieces with those eyes😁
Stickers read 'something wicked this way comes'
'her luminous eyes'

***

'In the shadow of the trees'
'in the darkness'
'the witches dance and then vanish'
I added some fab bats and green star gems

***

'Elmira is a curious women'
'wonders of a witch'
'smouldering rubbish with an old broomstick'
I added some gold gems to this one

***

Now a bit less dark and more autumnal.  I added some die cut leaves with this kitty, pumpkins and a clearly besotted sentiment stamp 'autumn leaves & pumpkins please'
One of my cats loves chasing leaves so this is quite apt

***
Kitty in leaves version 2 - i had printed the images out in 2 sizes so this was the bigger version of this image which i cut around.  Added some more die cut leaves and a lovely pumpkin

***
and last but not least.  Heres a lovely little wood goblin out collecting leaves and pumpkins

My dads pumpkins have done well this year in the garden so we are planning a pumpkin carving session with my nieces at half term - that will be a new one for me having never done one before

Thank you for stopping by once again.  Emmax

Poultry in Motion

Good Morning everyone

Today is a large card using the Pink Ink Cockerel stamp.  He is a rather fabulous bird.

Card approx 8x9"  I first stamped the cockerel and coloured with inktense pencils and then cut him out.
I took a piece of white cardstock and stamped the feathers and flowers from the set all over with a ombre ink pad.  I then die cut a large oval from the middle.  I also die cut an oval silver holographic card which i attached to the inside of my outside panel as a frame, added foam tape to the back and added to the base card.  The oval i cut from the middle i added back in place but flat - this added a frame for my cockerel to stand in.
I shaped the cockerel and attached him with glue gel to the middle.  I stamped the flowers onto pre-coloured red card  - picking up on the red in of his wattles.  I then cut them out and arranged around the oval. Stamped the pun and cut out and added enamel dots to the flowers to finish.

Just a close up of Mr Cockerel.

Items Used:
Pink Ink Stamps - 'Henpecked'
XL oval dies
Ombre inkpad
Inktense pencils
Ombre Kaleidacolor ink pad - caribbean sea

Easter Bunnies

Good Morning everyone, i hope you have been enjoying the Easter weekend.

Today im sharing my last 2 Easter cards. These came about as i had alot of oval frames left over from my butterfly cards.  Ive built a little spring field scene for my Lavinia Hare stamps.

I first made my base card to the size of the largest frame approx 6.5x5.5"... I die cut 2 ovals from white card, scored a line to make a flap, i glued this flap to the back of the 2nd oval - thus giving me a card blank.  So that it stands up i cut a little slither off the bottom edge of the back of the card.  I added a light watercolour wash to the front of the card using distress inks to give a grass and sky look.

I took 4 oval frames, twisting and off setting them, adding glue to the areas where they overlapped so that they were then joined as one.  I stamped the foliage and flowers onto the frames using oxide inks and hobbyart lino cut hare stamp set.  I added foam tape to the back and added to my card front.

I die cut an oval to fit the middle frame, did a background distress ink wash for the grass and sky and stamped flower flowers and foliage with oxide inks.  I then stamped my hares with black archival ink and some little snails & spider.  I doodled in some ground for the hares to stand on.  Stamped sentiment to finish.

Version 2.  I made my oval card blank and added a black card oval mat and then the white frame that id stamped with the flowers and foliage added with foam tape for dimension.  I die cut an oval to fit inside the frame and added grass and sky with distress inks.  Stamped some flowers and foliage with oxide inks.  The stamped my hared, doodled in some ground and shading under them.  Stamped greeting to finish.

Items Used:
Lavinia stamps - Wild hares, vine
Hobbyart stamps - lino cut hares
Card-io stamps - bugs & snails
Sentiment stamps
Distress inks - tumbled glass, salty ocean, pistachio, wilderness
Oxide inks - campfire, amber, marmalade, clover, peacock, citron

I hope you all enjoy your bank holiday Monday and have a good week.  Hugs to you all. Emmax

Birthday Squirrel

Good Morning everyone.

Today is a card i made for my brothers birthday with an autumn theme as he has a September birthday and loves his wildlife.  Ive teamed up a stamped squirrel with an inky background and lots of die cut leaves.

I first made my background by making a leaf mask - i printed a leaf silhouette out and cut out the inside with a craft knife - this left me with a leaf shape in the middle, using repositionable glue i stuck to a piece of white card and sprinkled on brushos & pixie powders in autumnal colours and left to dry completely.  I then stamped lots of foliage using oxide inks in the background and then the toadstool and falling leaves & acorns using brown archival ink.  Once totally dry i removed my mask.  I then die cut into a XL oval, i created a white oval frame which i added over the top with foam tape and i die cut a 3rd oval, scored along the top edge, folded and glued this flap to the back of my card front - this became the back of my card.

I stamped the sentiment into place and a spider. I stamped my squirrel onto white card, coloured with inktense pencils and cut him out, i attached him onto the front with glue gel.  I then got die cutting lots of little leaves from left over pieces of inked cardstock in co-ordinating colours.   I then got arranging all the leaves.  Glossy accents added to the acorns to finish.  Not forgetting to add some shading under the squirrel to ground him & make sure he isn't floating in mid air.

Showing how it stands up, i just cut a little sliver off the bottom of the back panel, this gives it a stable base instead of turning into a rocker.

Items Used:
Creative stamping magazine freebie stamps - squirrel, spider, leaves
Hobbyart lino hare stamp set - foliage
Lavinia stamps - mini toadstool
Spellbinders little leaf die set
XL Oval dies
Brushos - lime, olive,
Derwent Inktense pencils
Oxide inks

Thank you all for stopping by.  I hope its a good week for you.  Stay safe. Hugs Emmax
