Use some Stitching

Welcome to a New Year, hopefully full of lots of good things and plenty of crafting😎

Its time for a new challenge over at Alphabet Challenge with the theme for the next 2 weeks being:

U is for USE SOME STITCHING
Real or Faux

Being that I'm a danger with a needle and thread i went with faux stitching and dug out some stitch edge dies.

I first dug out a pile of offcuts/snippets made with a mix of inks, brushos, pixie powders and die cut them with curved stitched edge border dies. I layered them up over each other in a random way and added black card with pixie powders on the top and bottom edges.  Mounted it all onto white linen cardbase.

I then die cut a stitched daisy flower from snippets of black card with pixie powders on it.  It really shimmers in the light.  Stamped greeting die cut into a pierced fishtail banner. For the repeat stamping of the thank you, I used the stamp platform and moved the card along so that it stamped in a nice even line.  Blue gemstones to finish.

You can really make out the colour of the pixie powders in this photo on the black card.

I was quite pleased with the end result so think i shall be using up some more of those off cuts this way.  Very simple but effective I think.

Items Used:
MFT Stitched curved border dies
Stitched daisy die
MFT pierced fishtail banner die
Various inks

So if you fancy joining in and just to see what everyone comes up with using some stitching do hop over to Alphabet Challenge

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.  Hugs Emma

Daisy Mixed Media Canvas

Good Morning all, i hope you all enjoyed your weekend.

Today i am sharing this Mixed Media Home Decor Canvas that i made for my mum for Mother's Day.

Box Canvas 16x6" (40x15cm)  After doing the brick background (see below for details) I die cut lots of daisies from white card, made them up, added yellow stamens & florists wires for their stems.  I then die cut various foliage from brusho and inked cardstocks in different shades of greens and ferns from kraft card.  I then slowly built up the layout.

The top half.  I added a lovely big bee metal charm ive had in my stash for years.

The bottom half, i added more foliage and ivy in the bottom as you naturally find at the bottom of a wall

Just close ups. Once it was all stuck on i sealed everything with a matt sealant to keep it all fresh.

The wall - first i added texture paste through a stencil and once dry i added black acrylic paint over the whole canvas.  Once dry i put the stencil back over and added red and orange starlight paints to the bricks, i found doing it this way kept the black between the bricks better.  I then added touches of green paint to give a kind of mossy effect once everything is added on top.

Items Used:
Tattered Lace fern dies
Joanna Sheen & Brittania Ivy dies
Heartfelt Aster die set
Stitched Daisy dies
Tim Holtz foliage die
Brick stencil
Imagination crafts starlight paints
Golden Texture paste
Cracked Pistachio & twisted citron oxide inks
Brusho's

Thank you for stopping by and all your visits and comments last week and congratulations on the arrival of my new niece. I hope you all have a good week. Emma

Seahorses & Flowers

Good Morning all, i hope you all had a good weekend.

Today im sharing another batch of cards that are similar to a design i did before which was popular in my box so just a different theme this time.

6x6 white linen cardblank.  Brusho/pixie powder mix backgrounds, inverted scallop squares left over from another project.  I die cut into them with the memory box collage rings die and then stamped a greeting.  My seahorse is die cut from contrasting inked card, i then embossed the seahorse die into silver rainbow mirri card and cut around the outside, i then slotted the coloured seahorse over the top and glued together.

Opposite colour combo

All the blues,

and on to the flowers

I die cut the tim holtz mixed media dies into the inverted scallop squares and then stamped the greeting.  Flowers made up using stitched daisy dies, die cut foliage from silver rainbow mirri card.

Reds and greens.

and on top little notelet cards

2 little cards. 3.5x6" white linen base. I die cut the white border using spellbinders lonely hearts die set, and then just cut the outside edge die from inked cardstock and off set them slightly.  Die cut sentiments from the same inked card.  I then added viva enamel drops and a white stitched daisy.

The same as above just a different colour combo.  The first outing of the spellbinders die, so just trying it out.

Thank you for stopping by.  Also an apology after Steph (thanks Steph) mentioned comments not always getting through since the moderation is on, so i went investigating and found lots of you in the spam bin😢 - so now ive found a spam bin i will keep an eye on it.  Why it doesn't actually send the true spam (very naughty adult content!!!) comments there i don't know!  I switched on the moderation as got lots of weird messages left with links attached and didn't want any of my followers clicking on a link and something dodgy happening!  So i do apologise those of you who've had to come back several times, shouldn't happen again - hopefully!

I hope you all have a good week and see some sunshine.  Hugs Emma
