August We love stamping - flowers

Good Morning everyone

Welcome to August.  Over at We Love Stamping the theme this month is

FLOWERS
So nice and easy but you can always go with the anything goes as long as you use stamping - rubber, clear or digi

Our Prize this month is a £25 voucher from Personal Impressions  who stock various different brands.

6.5x6.5" kraft card blank.  I first took the stamperia wooden foliage panel and sprayed with inks to colour - more details on this down below.

I mounted it onto the cardfront - being about 5mm thick this adds a lovely depth to the card but its also super light weight.  I stamped the lily onto white card with versafine clair teal ink and watercoloured with distress inks and cut out.

I die cut a circle from white cardstock and put through a sizzix embossing folder, i adhered this to the card front and added the lily with pinflair glue gel.

I die cut the sentiment twice, once from card inked with the same inks i used to colour the lily and once from the white card to give a drop shadow and help it stand out, these i added to a strip of kraft card and then the card front.

Difficult to show but one of the sprays i used on the background has mica so a lovely shimmer & sparkle when the light hits it.

and as i got a 2nd background when I sprayed the woodchip I made another card

I matted the background onto 7" square card blank.  Die cut a circle from white card using and embossed, this i added to the bottom left of the inked background and added the lily on top.  Stamped sentiment onto card inked with the same distress inks used to colour the lily, die cut into a circle and matted onto a larger circle die cut from white.  Gems added to finish.

Old lily of the valley (LOTV) sentiment stamp reads 'sending you sunshine all year through' which is rather lovely

This is the stamperia decorative chip i used, its very light so i guess like a balsa wood

I placed it onto white card and sprayed with cosmic shimmer airless misters in greens, yellow and pink, you then get the pattern onto the white card as well - so no ink wasted and a free background for another project.  I did wonder how well the woodchip would take the wet inks but it stood up to them well, I didn't over saturate, just sprayed enough to cover.

Items Used:
Pennyblack slapstick cling stamp 'tiger lily'
LOTV sentiment stamp
Stamperia decorative chip
Ranger distress Inks - squeezed lemonade, wild honey, ripe persimmon, twisted citron, mowed grass
Versafine Clair ink 'warm breeze'
Cosmic Shimmer airless misters
MFT Circle die
hello sentiment die (maybe Simon says?)
Sizzix honeycomb & swirl embossing folders (very old)
CraftUK ltd kraft card

Hollyhocks for mum

Good Morning everyone

Today Im sharing the card I made for my mum for Mothering Sunday.  I used metallic flakes, printed acetate and my very old well loved hollyhock die to make a DL card for her.  Nightmare to take photos of though with all the shimmer and shine!

DL (8x4") white linen cardbase which i lightly inked the edged with cracked pistachio and tumbled glass distress inks.  I die cut a lacy panel from white linen card and added to the front.

I adhered a sheet of double side adhesive to white card and on the other side rubbed in the metallic flakes and then die cut them with the hollyhock die.  I die cut foliage from pale blue and pearl teal cardstock.

I have packs of 'clear prints' from stamperia which is very very heavy weight acetate with beautiful printed images, so I die cut a jar from one fo them.  Now this acetate is so thick the die doesn't cut right through but enough that i could then finish cutting it with scissors and get a clean edge.  I added this to the card front with pinflair glue gel and then got arranging the flowers and foliage.

I added a torn scrap of green paper under the jar to 'ground' it

Side view of the dimension.  I added curve to the hollyhocks with a ball tool

The acetate jar has a lovely shine which adds interest and another texture.  I debated where to put a sentiment but decided against it, I know mum will have this on display for months so doesn't really need a sentiment on the front.

Here you can really see the colours better, the metallic fakes really are shimmery and gorgeous but I do so hate them! lol

No matter how hard I try every time Ive used guilding flakes or metallic flakes they go everywhere and stick to everything - for weeks afterwards they turn up somewhere, for days the cats had red speckled fur - one even had a red sparkly nose for a few days,  the hoover has a lovely coating of them where they stuck to the warmth of the outside plastic areas.  So I did use the whole pot up in one go adding to adhesive sheets to get it over with - I still have them to use.  I was give the pot as a Christmas present and the effect if beautiful with the different colours in them but yep a product I still Hate to use😒

Items Used
Cosmic shimmer metallic flakes
Stamperia clear prints
Impression Obsession hollyhock die
Jar & foliage dies
Various printed papers
Distress Inks - tumbled glass, cracked pistachio

Thank you for stopping by once again.  I hope you all have a great week. Emma

Alice is 9

Good Morning everyone

This week my middle niece Alice is 9 so these are the 2 cards ive made for her.  The first one actually uses the same image i used for her dads card last year - now they are collecting horses and of course there is always a cat or 4 around - its a digi stamp from hetty clare called friends forever

Alices favourite colours are purple & green

approx 7x7" card made from white card with nesting dies.  I printed the image onto white along with the sentiment and coloured with inktense pencils, stencilled horse shoes around with and die cut into shape and adhered to the card front.  I die cut a frame from dark green card and added to the card front with 2mm foam tape

I bought this stamperia stencil with horse & horseshoes - but its so very thin and delicate it was very difficult to use

Just a close up

Now the better weather has arrived the girls love going out on a horse and cart ride with their dad and spend many happy hours seeing the countryside that way.

Items Used
Hettyclare digi image 'forever friends'
Stamperia stencil 'KSG468'
Derwent inktense pencils
nesting dies
Distress oxide inks vintage photo, black soot, fossilised amber

Alice is a talented gymnast and a little contortionist so i borrowed these gymnast dies from a craft friend

A5 white cardbase.

I die cut the gymnasts from green glitter cardstock and 4 layers of scrap white cardstock which I layered together with the green glitter as the top layer - this gave them a sturdy chipboard depth.  I die cut the letters from purple mirri card and white card and used the white as a drop shadow to help them stand out.

I matted a lilac happy birthday printed cardstock onto purple mirri and then green glitter cardstock and then the card front.  The gymnasts were a bit lost against the background so i tore a piece of vellum adhered my letters and gymnasts to it - i then added tacky pva to the back of the vellum behind the letters and gymnasts and adhered to the card front - that hid the glue holding the vellum in place.

Just a close up - in real life the purple mirri and green glitter really do sparkle and shine

Items Used:
Memory box alpha dies
 gymnast dies
Anna-marie design birthday printed cardstock
papermania white vellum
Green glitter card
Hunkydory purple mirri card

Sun, Sea, Sand #2

Good Morning everyone

Mid way though July so time for another sun, sea, sand inspired make at We Love Stamping
or you can always go with the anything goes option as long as some stamping is involved

This time ive just gone with the sea

Ive used this lovely printed acetate from Stamperia for my card front, so it gives a lovely glossy finish with its sea print.

I stamped the aall&create whale scene onto white card with greeny blue ombre ink pad and die cut into spellbinders labels 4 shape.  I added stencilling to the background with pale oxide inks & stamped some bubbles.

I stamped the whale again onto more white card this time with a dark blue ink, watercoloured with pink and peach distress inks so that it contrasts with all the green//blue, cut out just the whale and decoupaged onto the base image with glue gel.

I stamped some shells with the same pink, peach & lilac inks, cut out and arranged onto the card front along with some real shells ive collected over the years.  Stamped sentiment and some stickles glitter glue details to finish.

This is really thick weight acetate so I just used it as the card front and used plain white card for the back, i scored a flap at the top of the white card to which i attached the acetate.  I rounded the corners with my corner chomper which easily cuts through the thick acetate & 300gsm cardstock together - the rounded corners pick up on the rounded edge of the die cut

This months prizes that you could win

aall&create stamp 'sea life'
Chocolate baroque stamp set 'seashell collage'
Visible image stamp set 'swim deep'
Lavinia stencil

We all have an artist within us

Good Morning everyone

Today im sharing a card i made for a friend using Katzelkraft stamp 'elephant van gogh'

5x7" card made from cream card and nesting dies.  I  die cut another piece of cream card into  a frame and took the middle section to create my background - on this piece i added cosmic shimmer glossy glaze through a splat stencil and let it dry - it has a lovely translucent glossy finish.  Once dry i lightly inked over the top with black soot distress ink.  I added the frame to the cardfront with 2mm foam tape.

I stamped the elephant  in black onto white card, watercoloured with distress inks, cut out and added to the card front.

I had these arty supplies left over from a previous project which i had watercoloured with oxide inks so I arranged them around the elephant.  A chipboard quote saying 'we all have an artist within us' was added to finish.

Katzelkraft stamps 'elephant von gogh'
Creative expression Jane davenport stamps 'CEJDCS023' 'HeArt Supplies'
Stamperia chipboard 'DFLCB24' 'Atelier des Arts
Distress inks & distress oxides

Arty thank you

Good Morning everyone

I bought these fab art equipment stamps a while back in a sale but thought they were perfect to make a couple of little thank you cards for crafty friends who sent some crafty bits for my nieces to create art with.

4x4" I had these shaped die cuts left over on my desk and thought would be perfect for the base so i joined 2 together with a little hinge on the back one for my shaped card blank.  I lightly stencilled black soot oxide ink through a splodge stencil for my background - i wanted to keep it muted so my rainbow of arty stamped items stood out.

I stamped the images onto white card with black ink, watercoloured with distress oxide inks and cut them out.    I then got arranging them and adhered into place.  I had these fab chipboard stickers with arty saying which are the perfect finishing touch - the little arty flower image is from the same chipboard set.

Version 2 the quote and heart are both chipboard.

Items Used:
Creative expression Jane davenport stamps 'CEJDCS023' 'HeArt Supplies'
Stamperia chipboard 'DFLCB24' 'Atelier des Arts'
Distress Oxide inks - candied apple, spiced marmelade, fossilised amber, lucky clover, salty ocean, blueprint sketch, wilted violet, Picked raspberry, black soot.
Woodware mini Splat stencil
Nested dies
White cardstock

Thank you all for stopping by once again.  I hope you all have a good week. Emmaxx
