Created to shine

Good Morning everyone

I made these end of last year, i was lucky enough to win this stamp set at the beginning of last year after finally got around to using them - its by an American company called 'close to my heart' and the stamp set is called 'created to shine'  The quality of these stamps is fabulous and they are lovely to use.

6x6" white linen cardbase.  I die cut a square from white linen cardstock and stamped the lights and one of the quotes in the set using black ink.   I stamped the lights again onto more white cardstock and watercoloured with yellow & orange wink of stella pens so they really shimmer and shine in the light, i then cut out the bulbs and added to the base image after gently adding shape to them.  I added a soft yellow watercolour wash around the lights to give the effect of light emanating from the bulbs and some splatters too.   I added a couple of extra lights and doodled in the cords for them.

I mounted this panel with foam tape onto orange mirri card and then the base.

Hopefully you can make out the shine and shimmer of both the wink of stella on the bulbs and the orange mirri in the background

Version 2 - made the same way, just using one of the other quotes in the set

Version 3.  This one uses a cream pearl cardstock instead of white.   This time i watercoloured the bulbs with distress inks and added glossy accents over the top to give a glass effect to them.  In my stash i had some stamped moths precoloured and left over from a previous project which were the perfect fit for the bulbs - these moths has been coloured with inktense pencils - the stamp is by visible image 'glimmer of light'

I matted the panel onto green glitter card which picks up the green in the moths wings.   Yellow gems to finish.

Items Used:
Close to my heart stamps 'created to shine'
Visible image stamps 'glimmer of light'
Tattered lace square dies
Kuretake wink of stella pens
Derwent inktense pencils
Ranger glossy accents
CraftUK Ltd white linen card
Cream pearl, green glitter & orange mirri cardstocks

Thank you all for popping by once again.  I hope you have a good rest of the week and then weekend.  These weeks seem to be flying past don't they.  Hugs Emmaxxx

A Cube Birthday

Happy New Year Everyone
Lots hope things soon start to improve.  I hope you enjoyed Christmas as much as was possible.   I was thoroughly spoilt with craft goodies - especially stamps so lots to keep me entertained for a while.

Today is a card for my mums best friends birthday in December.  She loves her flowers/garden so i dug out these beautiful toppers from my stash and not being able to decide which ones to use i decided to make a cube card for 4 seasons. It folds flat for posting.

I made my cube out of 300gsm chocolate pearlised card, each side is 5.5x5.5" in size so it took 2 pieces of A4 card.  After cutting each piece to 5.5" i then scored along the length at 5.5" and joined the 2 pieces together lengthwise to form a cube.

I matted my toppers onto chocolate pearl card and a die cut white card square, added foam tape to the back and attached to the sides.  I went with the chocolate cardstock to pick up the colours in the toppers which are soft.

Die cut sentiment.  Butterflies die cut from lilac and lemon cardstock - again picking up the colours in the toppers.  Glitter glue highlights to finish.

Having the different images on each side it can be turned around for a different view each time

Showing it from above - i added a chocolate pearl paper insert inside to write the greeting - using the same paper as the box means it doesn't ruin the overall 'look'

the insert opens upwards so easy to access

and finally showing it flat for posting.  The recipient loved it so thats good and its always good using up very old stash!

Items Used:
Toppers -  Creative Crafting World 'Malcolm Greensmith'
Tattered lace eyelet square dies
Birthday sentiment die
Sizzix butterfly die
Pearlised Chocolate card - payper box
White card - craftUK ltd
Stickles glitter glue - diamond & gold

Thank you all for stopping by.  I hope you have a good week and all keep safe and well. Hugs Emmax

Thankyou Cats

Good Morning everyone.

Today im sharing a little CAS thank you card i made for my new cat sitter who looked after my furry gang while I've been away on holiday.  All being rescues they all have various 'issues' but the wonderful lady did a marvellous job looking after them and my 6 hedgehogs.

Teal 5.5x5.5" square cardbase.  I die cut a square of white card which has punched holes around the edges.  I then stamped my cat stamp using a multi colour ink pad, using my stamp platform i was easily able to build up the ink to give a nice solid silouette.  I then stamped my sentiment with the same ink pad.  I then splashed on some of the ink to add interest to the background.

A close up on my kitties, i had also used a blue fineliner and a ruler to add a line under the cats so that they aren't floating in midair.

Showing my insert, i used another of the Katzelkraft cat stamps and a thank you stamp and the same ink pad. This stamp always reminds me of my little terror Suki, she so doesn't like people so digs in well if one has to pick her up, luckily after 4 patient years she is pretty good with me. Suki is very much a free spirit coming and going through the cat flap to suit her.

Items Used:
Katzelkraft cat solo stamps 'Katz04&Katz02'
Stampin up curly cute sentiment stamp
Stampin up sassy salutations sentiment stamp
Tattered Lace square dies
Ink pad - Kaleidacolor - caribbean Sea
Payper box teal cardstock
CraftUK ltd smooth water card

I had a good holiday, although we had some rain most days much the same as back here in Cornwall but that didn't stop us getting out and about.  Now im back i must really get into Christmas cards seriously.  Thank you all for stopping by once again. Emmax

Dancing Fairies

Good Morning everyone.

Today im sharing a card i made for my best mate as we are celebrating a big number this year for our birthdays.  I went with a fairy theme. Alot of building up inks and stamps in the background.

8x8 White cardblank. I took a piece of white card slightly smaller than the base card.  I first  die cut the star wreath in the top right corner to act as the 'moon'.  I then stenciled stars with marmalade oxide ink, i then removed the stencil and added clear embossing powder and heat set, this then acted as a resist so the stars shone through the darker inks. I then inked up the background with distress inks in oranges and purples, more yellow/orange around my 'moon'.  I then took a circular birthday sentiment stamp and stamped it several times around the background.
I then built up the background with various stencils and stamps with oxide inks.  You can see the whole background better in a photo at the bottom of this post. I then attached silver mirror card behind my starry 'moon' and attached to the cardbase.
From inked up card i die cut lots of foliage and built up some flowers.  I die cut the fairies in black gloss card and then silver to help them stand out a bit. Glitter glue hightlights to finish.

A close up of the fairies

Close up on the ferns and flowers

Close up on the starry 'moon' I then computer printed the 40 today and die cut into a circle to fit in the middle of my moon.

This shows my background before i added all the extras.

Items Used:
Spellbinders circle dies
Spellbinders Fairy dies
Tattered Lace Fern dies
Joanna Sheen & Britannia Ivy dies
Tim Holtz floral dies
Star wreath die
Various Lavinia Stamps - floral & fairy
Stencils - starrs, little dots
Simon Says Stamp circle sentiment stamp
Various Distress & Oxide inks - spiced marmalade, lemonade, seedless preserve, dusty concorde, shaded lilac, chipped sapphire, black soot,

Thank you all for stopping by and all your fabulous comments on my cards for Alice.  I hope you all have a good week. I have a few celebrations going on this week with family and friends😁. Emmax

O for Owl

Good Morning everyone.

Its time for a new challenge over at Alphabet Challenge - the theme for the next fortnight is:

O - OWL

So a good theme suitable for many occasions and any age.  I made a card for someone just starting university to wish them luck.

6x6 white scalloped cardbase. I cut a square of white linen card to fit my base and die cut a star circle frame into it.  I then stamped the greeting.  I added this panel with foam tape onto gold glitter card and then black pearlised card and then the card base.

I then die cut my tattered lace owl die from black pearlised card, after poking all the little pieces out I glued it onto white card and cut around the outside edge.  I then gave it a curve before adding to the card with glue gel.

Just a close up on my owl, you can pick up the gold glitter card a bit better at this angle too.

Items Used:
Tattered lace 'Barn owl in flight' die
Star Circle die (unbranded)
Crafters companion sentiment stamp
Jellybean champagne gold glitter card
Black pearlised card - payper box
White linen & scalloped card blank - craftUK Ltd

So if you fancy joining in and to see what everyone comes up with using Owls, hop over to Alphabet Challenge

Thank you for stopping by and wishing you all a good weekend. Emma
