Christmas patchwork

Good Morning everyone

After making my previous batch of exploding insert Christmas cards i had a lot of 1&2" strips of paper left over.  I dug out my old crealies patchwork set and die cut all the paper pieces - my baby blue was ideal for all these small pieces.

6x6 white base card.  After die cutting all the papers with the patchwork layer dies i inked all the edges with vintage photo distress ink.  I cut the largest octogen die from the set from gold satin cardstock and used a purl embossing folder on it, i then added the panel to my 6x6 base card and used my guillotine to cut off the corners to turn it into an octogen.

I added foam tape to the back of the patchwork pieces and then got arranging them.  I die cut the sentiment circle from white card and a circular frame for it from the gold satin card.  I fussy cut some holly from another paper and added glossy accents to the berries & touches of glitter glue to finish.

I managed to make 12 cards from the offcuts.  The bottom right one in the photo using a tonic sentiment die as i made a mess that needed hiding😁

Items Used:
Crealies octogen patchwork dies (very old set)
MFT circle sentiment die
Tonic winter wishes die
Crafters companion embossing folder 'purl'
The works 12x12 paper pads - classic christmas party, the best time of the year, traditional christmas & woodland christmas
Gold satin card
6x6" craftUK ltd white card blanks
Ranger glossy accents
Ranger stickles 'diamond'

Christmas Poinsettias

Good Morning everyone, i hope you are having a good week.

When i used this floral die a while back i thought they looked a bit like poinsettia shape so here it is as a Christmas card, teamed up with green pearl card, gold mirror card and my own red mirror card coloured with red alcohol inks so its full of shimmer.

Cardsize approx 5.5x4.5  I first coloured a piece of gold mirror card with red alcohol inks and let dry.  I then die cut the floral frame once from white card, gold card and the red card, i attached the red & white frames to green pearl card and the green frame to white card and then got inserting all the flower/foliage pieces back into different frames.  I then matted and layered onto the base cards.

Die cut sentiment attached to a die cut circular frame, a little die cut poinsettia added to the centre of the sentiment to finish.

Close up - i also added some glitter glue to the poinsettia centres - so plenty of bling

I used this one portrait over the last 2 being landscape - this die is great as you can use it any way up.
I love how you get more interest and mottled effect using the alcohol inks on mirror card, here i used gold mirror card as the base as its interesting the difference you get using the same alcohol inks on silver or gold mirror base.

Items Used:
Pinkfresh ornate floral frame die
MFT circle sentiment die
Circle dies
Mini poinsettia/flower die
Tim Holtz alcohol inks - red pepper, cranberry & lemon
Gold mirror card
Payper box Green pearl card
CraftUK ltd white card

Thank you all for stopping by once again.  I hope you are hanging in there.  Hugs Emmaxx

Christmas Card

Morning Everyone

Today im sharing a little Christmas card.

6x6 Ivory card base, I was following a sketch by a friend and it had the look of a ribbon wrapped present to me so thats what i went with.  I used papers all from the same paper pad and ivory base card as was softer than white which was too harsh with the paper.  I matted a sheet of the paper onto brown card, wrapped with a lovely red ribbon and added to the base card.  I them die cut the sentiment circle from the same brown card, mounted onto an ivory circle and added to the middle.  I then die cut some pine cones and foliage from the same paper pad and arrange in the top right corner.  A little chipboard birdie to finish - id added a light touch of red to his breast like a little Robin.

A close up on my pine cone and pine branches.

Items Used:
BasicGrey 'Evergreen' 6x6 paperpad
Ivory & brown cardstocks
Red ribbon
Chipboard Bird
MFT Christmas sentiment circle
Spellbinder circle dies

Thank you everyone for stopping by once again.  I hope you all have a good week, i have 3 weeks of school half terms ahead, with family down from the Isle of Lewis this week for theirs, then its 'my girls' half term next week and then the week after that its more cousins down for their half term. Would be too simple for them to all be the same week wouldn't it😁 Still looking forward to all the family catch up time. Emma
