Have a Merry Christmas

Good Morning everyone

Another Christmas card design.  I made a snowflake stenciled background for my large die cut snowflakes.

Card size approx 6x6.5"  I first die cut my hexagon base from white card and then a smaller hexagon from more of the white card.  On this panel i used a snowflake stencil mask and distress oxide inks in shades of blues, greens & lilacs and then added some splatters.  I Then over stamped with the same inks & grey ink the words winter, Dec & 25 aall&create 'seasons' set, inked the edge in grey and adhered to the card front.

I die cut a large snowflake from white vellum and pale lilac glitter card, off set these and adhered to the card front.  Sentiment die cut from charcoal satin mirror card card.  Sadly the photos don't pick up the shimmer and shine from both the glitter card and mirror cards but in real life they really make the card when the light hits it.

Version 2

Made the same way but this time using silver holographic card for the snowflake ad black mirror card for the sentiment.  I made 10 versions of this design and a great one for making a dent in my fancy card scraps drawer where i keep off cuts of glitter, mirror, satin card!  So they are all slightly different.

I only glued the middle of the snowflakes so the edges are free to give a bit of interest and dimension otherwise its a flat card - always a mission for me!

Items Used:
Studio Light stencil (grunge masks) 'SL-GR-MASKS52'
aall&create stamp 'seaons'
Spellbinders die S4-286 '2010 snowflake pendant'
Tonic studios sentiment die - old magazine freebie
Hexagon nested dies
Distress Oxide inks - shaded lilac, tumbled glass, peacock feathers, twisted citron, evergreen bough
Versafine Clair ink 'Morning mist'
White vellum
Various glitter, mirror and satin card

I hope you all survived Storm Bert without too much damage, we did lose electric for several hours and luckily didn't need to venture out in it, on the plus side i guess is that its much warmer than all that snow last week!  I hope you all have a good week - scary that its the last week in November! Big hugs to you all. Emmax

Hoppy Easter

Good Morning everyone

Another little batch of easter cards today, using these fabulous bunny stamps from aall&create

Approx card size 6"    I first made my cardblank for yellow cardstock and my hexagon dies.  I stencilled over it with fossilised amber & spiced marmalade oxide inks to soften the bright yellow.  I die cut a smaller hexagon from white linen cardstock and die cut the floral circle into it.  I then lightly stencilled on foliage with lucky clover and evergreen distress inks, keeping it subtle, i attached this panel flat to the card front and stamped the sentiment.

I then stamped the rabbits onto white card, added little touches of colour with my fine liner pens - leaving the rabbits fur completely white.  I then cut them out and attached with glue gel for a little dimension.  Dots of stickles glitter glue added to the flower centres for a little sparkle.

Version 2 - just different colours on the bunnies

and little batch of bunnies🐰  The last 2 weeks we've seen more rabbits about in the fields which is a lovely sight

Items Used:
aall&create stamps 'hippety hoppity' #678
XL Hexagon dies
Floral circle die
Stencils
Distress & oxide inks
Staedtler fine liner coloured pens
Ranger Stickles 'crystal'

Thank you all for stopping by.  I hope you have a good week. Hugs Emmax

coffee & flowers

Good Morning everyone

Here Ive used another of the stamps from the aall&create stamp set 'caffeinated'  - this lovely old coffee grinder reminds me of holidays spent at my grandparents when my brothers & I would argue over whos turn it was to grind the coffee beans - great fun😊

I made these 2 cards as happy mail for friends to give them a pick me up

6X6" card base which i die cut from a dark brown cardstock.  I stamped the image with brown ink onto cream cardstock, stencilled on some flowers with wild honey & vintage photo distress inks and then die cut with 2 of the smaller label shapes, creating a frame with the image in the middle section, .  I added the outside frame to the card front with foam tape and adhered the middle section back in flat - just to add some interest and dimension.

I stamped the image again onto cream card and watercoloured with distress inks, i then cut out the coffee grinder and flowers and added to the base image with glue gel.  Touch of glitter glue to the flower centres to finish with a little bling.

Version 2.  I used a coffee/ latte coloured cardstock here and my hexagon nested dies.  I stamped the image onto the coffee cardstock  and added a little colour with vintage photo distress ink.  i stamped again onto yellow patterned paper and cut out just the flowers, these i paper pieced onto the base image.  I die cut my shaped card base, die cut a smaller hexagon of lime green paper and stamped the coffee ring stamp with vintage photo, i then added the topper panel in place.  Rare for me as this is a totally flat card.

Items Used
aall&create stamps 'caffeinated'
XL Nested shape dies
stencils
Distress Inks -wild honey, vintage photo, twisted citron, salty ocean
6x6" papers

Thank you all for stopping by once again, i really do appreciate all your visits and comments. Emmax

Spring flowers

Good Morning everyone

Ive used an aall&create stamp for these Spring cards, teaming them up with orange pearl cardstock which im still trying to use up

Approx size 6x6"   I used stitched hexagon dies to make my base card which i then dry embossed with a swirl embossing folder - this is my most used embossing folder as its A4 and gives a subtle background.  Afterwards i felt it needed something to break up all the orange so I stamped the word spring across the centre with 'salvaged patina' oxide ink using 2nd & 3rd generation stamping.

I made a background on white card and ink swooshing oxide inks - squeezed lemonade, cracked pistachio, twisted citron & salvaged patina, once dry i stamped the stamp with black ink and cut out the main part with the collage of hexagons and added to the base card.

I stamped the stamp again onto white paper, coloured the flowers and cut them out and glued them flat onto the base image......my first attempt was to first mask the flowers and do the background but that turned into a right hassle for making a batch of cards so it was easier and quicker to stamp them onto white paper, cut out and adhered on top😀

Yellow gems added to add a bit of bling

I made 10 in the end just varying the colour of the flowers

Items Used:
aall & Create stamps
Stitched hexagon XL die set
A4 Swirl embossing folder
Distress Oxide inks

Thank you all for popping by once again.

Christmas Owls

Good Morning everyone

Just this last lavinia stamps card to share as my last Christmas card this year.  I made a couple of these Lavinia owl cards, one for my parents for Christmas.  Ive stamped onto a kind of pinky/coffee colour pearl cardstock.

Approx 6x6" card.  I used the hexagon dies to make my base card and die cut a smaller hexagon from white i cut a smaller one from the middle.  On the frame i stamped the fir trees towards the bottom and stencilled some small dots with oxide ink to act as snow.  I inked around the top edge with the same oxide ink and around the bottom with green distress inks. I added 3d foam tape to the back and added it to the base card.

On the smaller hexagon i first stamped the owls with black archival ink and then i stamped the pine branches around them with archival inks to make it look like they are standing on the branches.  I lightly stencilled patina oxide ink dots to act like snow around them.  I glue this hexagon flat inside the frame.  I die cut a couple of little branches from gold mirror card and glued under the owls.

I stamped lots of pine ones with brown ink tones onto scraps of the pearl card, cut them out and arranged with glue gel.  Stamped quote cut up and added to finish.

Just a close up, i used a white gel pen on the owls eyes as they were a bit lost and also to highlight the pine cones a bit.

Items Used:
Lavinia Stamps - 'echo & drew' 'fern branch' 'mini pinecone'
 'fir tree' 'seasons change'
Memory box stems die
Hexagon die set
Dotty stencil
Oxide inks - Tumbled glass, salvaged patina
Distress ink - forest moss, pine needles
Archival ink - Library green, sepia, potting soil
Pearl cardstock - payper box
Gold mirror card

Thank you all for stopping by once again.  I hope you all have a good week.  Stay safe and keep warm.  Hugs Emmax

Autumn is Calling

Good Morning everyone

Today is another Autumn card, other years ive not made many autumnal themed cards but this year it really seems to have inspired me, adding a touch of blue to the golds and reds reminds me of the blue skies we often see in Autumn here.  This is another one with oxide inks on soft gold pearl cardstock.  I love how the oxide inks give a mat finish against the pearlescent shimmer shining through.

I first made my hexagon card base using hexagon dies and soft gold pearl cardstock.  I then cut a smaller hexagon and stencilled over it with oxide inks- patina, campfire & amber, i then die cut a smaller hexagon out of the middle - on this piece i stamped the quote in black. I used the same oxide inks to stamp some little dots around the outside of the base card.   I added foam tape to the back of the frame and attached to the card, i then glued the smaller piece back in place but flat - so its inset, lining up all the stencilling.

I added oxide inks to the offcuts of gold pearl card and die cut lots of little leaves, after adding a little shape to the leaves I got arranging them.

Just  a close up - the quote was a magazine freebie years ago
'Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower'

Items Used:
Lavinia Stencil 'pods'
Lavinia stamp 'mini dots'
Spellbinders dies 'little leaves'
Quote stamp - magazine freebie
Distress Oxide inks - salvaged patina, crackling campfire, fossilized Amber
Soft gold pearl cardstock

Thank you all for stopping by once again. I hope you all have a good week.  Hugs Emmaxxx

40th Birthday

Good Morning everyone

This is the 2nd card i made for my brothers 40th birthday for me to give him.  Ive gone for a funny one using my new Katzelkraft bird stamps which i got for my birthday last month.

I first made a background with brushos and pixie powders and let dry.  Using my hexagon dies i made a white cardbase.  I then cut a frame from white card.  I then cut my background with a hexagon die and then used a tim holtz die to cut out little circles from the middle of my coloured panel, i added gold holographic card behind this - it kind of gives the effect of a disco ball when the light hits it for my dancing birds.  I added that to the base and then the frame on top with foam tape.

I stamped the birds and simply coloured in grey tones so they stand out with the bright background, just a hint of colour for the beak & feet, i then cut them out.  I computer printed the 40 & no way and die cut into speech bubbles & stamped the happy birthday and die cut into an oval.  I added the birds and sentiment to the base card with glue gel to finish.

A close up trying to show the light hitting the holographic, in life its really shiny and bright

Items Used:
Katzelkraft bird stamps 'SOLO168'  'SOLO167'

Sizzix oval dies
Speech bubble die
Brushos & pixie powders
