Dragonflies

Good Morning everyone

I dug out an old aall&create stamp set with these fab dragonflies on.  I stamped them in a dark purple ink and the card bases are also a dark purple not black -difficult to get good photos with all the grey days we had.

DL cardblank made from deep plum cardstock.  I stamped the images onto white card with versaclair 'monarch' ink.  These are A5 stamps so i decided which area i wanted and die cut with a stitched edge DL die.  I then added some light stencilling with oxide inks - cracked pistachio & shaded lilac and adhered to the card front.

I stamped the dragonflies again, watercoloured with wink of stella pens, cut out and decoupaged onto the base image with glue gel.  Glossy accents added to the bodies and some white pen highlights to finish.

You can just about make out on the right of the wings but the wink of stella pens give the most amazing shimmer in real life

Version 2 using the 2nd dragonfly stamp in the set

and version 3 i went with green wink of stella pens this time for the wings and pink for the body and spiced marmalade & salvaged patina oxide inks for the stencilling

sadly again all the shimmer does show

Items Used:
aall&create stamps #230 'On dragonfly wings'
Various stencils
Distress oxide inks - cracked pistachio, shaded lilac, spiced marmalade, salvaged patina
Kuretake wink of stella pens
DL stitched edge dies
Dark plum cardstock
White super smooth cardstock
Pebeo white pen

Thank you all for popping by. Emmax

Colourful florals

Good Morning everyone

Today is a couple of cards using paperartsy stamps i was gifted, more DL cards im afraid.  Ive used the same stamps on all of them but gone with very different colour combos.

White DL card (8x4")  I first stamped and watercoloured the images with wink of stella pens so they really shimmer in the light which sadly the photos don't pick up.  I then dug through my background pile to find some that contrast - this first one was with oxide inks, I then stencilled over the top with various floral and foliage stencils with distress inks and oxide inks to give some depth in the background and feeling you are in the garden.  I die cut it with a fancy DL die and then stamped some of the smaller stamps from the set in grey.

I added my flowers with glue gel and doodled in some stems for them.  I stamped the sentiment onto white card, matted onto orange and then white die cut with the fancy dies i used for the main image.  I added this panel with foam tape and attached the butterflies.

Version 2, flowers again coloured with wink of stella pens, the background was using brushos, again i then stencilled and stamped over the top. I added stickles 'frosted lace' to the circular foliage stamp I used in the background as it gives a fluffy white finish.

I stamped some words from another paperartsy set i was gifted, which reads 'have a bloomin' marvellous day', I cut them out, mounted onto yellow card and added glossy accents over the words.

***
Version 3. This time i started with a white background and stenciled on foliage to build up a garden scene, then stamping one of the foliage stamps with green ink. I used a sunray stencil with amber oxide ink.  I matted my DL die cut onto white card inked with the stamp purple wink of stella pens i used to colour the flower so this card is full sparklicious! I stamped the flower stems in place with black ink and then added the flower heads & butterflies with glue gel.

Stamped sentiment mounted on foam tape and yellow enamel dots added to finish.

I was trying to capture some of the sparkle but sadly photos just don't pick it up

Items Used:
Paperartsy stamps EKC03 & JOFY11
Technique Tuesday sentiment stamp 'Hi there'
Distress Inks & Oxide Inks
Brusho's
Kuretake Wink of Stella pens
DL nesting dies
Various stencils

Thank you for popping by once again.  I hope you have a good weekend.  Hugs Emmaxxx

Created to shine

Good Morning everyone

I made these end of last year, i was lucky enough to win this stamp set at the beginning of last year after finally got around to using them - its by an American company called 'close to my heart' and the stamp set is called 'created to shine'  The quality of these stamps is fabulous and they are lovely to use.

6x6" white linen cardbase.  I die cut a square from white linen cardstock and stamped the lights and one of the quotes in the set using black ink.   I stamped the lights again onto more white cardstock and watercoloured with yellow & orange wink of stella pens so they really shimmer and shine in the light, i then cut out the bulbs and added to the base image after gently adding shape to them.  I added a soft yellow watercolour wash around the lights to give the effect of light emanating from the bulbs and some splatters too.   I added a couple of extra lights and doodled in the cords for them.

I mounted this panel with foam tape onto orange mirri card and then the base.

Hopefully you can make out the shine and shimmer of both the wink of stella on the bulbs and the orange mirri in the background

Version 2 - made the same way, just using one of the other quotes in the set

Version 3.  This one uses a cream pearl cardstock instead of white.   This time i watercoloured the bulbs with distress inks and added glossy accents over the top to give a glass effect to them.  In my stash i had some stamped moths precoloured and left over from a previous project which were the perfect fit for the bulbs - these moths has been coloured with inktense pencils - the stamp is by visible image 'glimmer of light'

I matted the panel onto green glitter card which picks up the green in the moths wings.   Yellow gems to finish.

Items Used:
Close to my heart stamps 'created to shine'
Visible image stamps 'glimmer of light'
Tattered lace square dies
Kuretake wink of stella pens
Derwent inktense pencils
Ranger glossy accents
CraftUK Ltd white linen card
Cream pearl, green glitter & orange mirri cardstocks

Thank you all for popping by once again.  I hope you have a good rest of the week and then weekend.  These weeks seem to be flying past don't they.  Hugs Emmaxxx

Rabbit in flowers

Good Morning everyone

Another card using one of my recent gelli plate backgrounds and the rabbit stamp from the aall&create in the wild stamp set

approx 8x8" size.  I made my base card using kraft card and spellbinders grand labels1 dies, i die cut a smaller one and die cut the middle using a grand circle die to make a frame and used a swirly embossing folder on it - using the debossed side.  I stamped the rabbit onto the gelli print with dark brown ink and stamped it again onto white paper.  I added the gelli print to the card base and added my kraft frame over the top with foam tape.

I added a hint of colour to the leaves & flowers on the white stamped versions and cut them out.  I glued a full version to the image stamped on my gelli plate and then cut out extra flowers to extend my image which i adhered with glue gel so that they over hang the frame.  I then added a bit of a shadow with grey alcohol markers.  To finish i added clear wink of stella pen to my flowers so them shimmer in the light.

Just  a close up, i have touches of gold in my gelli print background that also shimmers in the light.

Items Used:
aall&create stamps - 'in the wild' #529
Spellbinders dies grand circles & grand labels 1
6" round gelli plate
Lavinia stencil - 'pods'
Floral stencil
Acrylic paints
Kuretake wink of stella pen - 'clear'
Alcohol markers

Thank you all for stopping by.  I hope its a good week for you all. Hugs Emmaxx

Beary Christmas

Good Morning Everyone

I hope you all had a good weekend, I can't believe we are heading into the last full week of November - scary.  Ive more Christmas cards to share with you today.  This fab polar bear is a pink ink stamp, the cards are A5 in size so you can see how big he is😀

A5 size. I started with really dark blue pearl card for my base - again stash busting!  I stamped the polar bear onto white card and added colour with brusho's and shimmer with pixie powders.  While that was drying i stamped the polar bear again on white card, added a little grey colour with distress inks and cut him out, i then stamped just the hat, scarf & ice skates and coloured with wink of stella pens, cut out and decoupaged these onto the bear.
I matted the dry background onto gold mirror card, then the base and added my bear on top.  Computer printed sentiment die cut into circles.  White gel pen used to snowy dots in the background and then glitter glue to give some snowy sparkle.  I also used a metallic gold pen for the metal bit of the skates which shines when the light catches it.

Just a close up, of course i had to add glossy accents to his nose

Items Used
Pink Ink stamp 'beary christmas'
Spellbinders circle dies
Brusho's
Cosmic shimmer pixie powders
Kuratake wink of stella pens
Gold metallic pens
White gel pen
Distress inks - black soot, hickory smoke

Happy Whale

Good Morning everyone

Today is a bright and fun birthday card using the aall&create sea life stamp set.  Ive given him a very sparkle background with wink of stella pens

A5 navy cardblank.  I cut a piece of white card to fit my card base and made a background with wink of stella pens & water in blue, purple & green.  Once dried i stamped the whale stamp.  I added some extra detail with a black fineliner pen.  I then used a paintbrush and water & dabbing with a tissue to remove some of the ink from the circles, hexagons & swirl around the whale. I stamped some extra details with oxide inks.  I then stencilled on some circles with oxide ink & small dots with gold paint and edged the whole panel with gold starlight paint.

I stamped the whale  again onto white, watercoloured with distress inks, cut out the whale & added over the top of the main one with glue gel.  Die cut sentiment to finish from white and navy cardstock.

A close up on the whale

Trying to show the gold paint - it really has an amazing shine and shimmer and lovely for little stencilled accents.  Sadly the photos don't really pick up the sparkle of the background either.

Just showing it side on

Items Used:
Aall&create stamps 'sea life'
Grunge stamps
circles, little dots stencils
Sentiment dies
Imagination Crafts Starlight paint 'rich gold'
Kuratake wink of stella pens
Distress inks - lemonade & honey

Thank you all for stopping by.  Hugs Emmaxx

Easter Chicks

Good Morning everyone

Today is a batch of little Easter cards using the fab chicken dance stamps from aall&create

Approx size 3.5x5"  I first die cut the inverted scallop frame and on the middle panel that falls out i added a simple grass & sky with wink of stella pens, scribbling them on my craft mat, spritzing with water and dipping my cardstock into it.   I stamped the chickens, watercoloured with oxide inks and cut them out. I used a little oval die for my eggs, cut from white card with ink speckles on them.
I added the frame with foam tape and added the background in flat.  Attached the chicks and eggs.  Stamped sentiment and glossy accents on the chicks eyes to finish.

I couldn't help but be happy making this batch of cards with these funky chickens.

Items Used:
Aall&create chicken dance stamps
Clearly besotted sentiment stamp
Scalloped frame die
Oval die

Distress Oxide inks - lemonade, persimmon, peacock, raspberry, lilac, citron,
