Sun, Sea & Sand

Good Morning everyone

Welcome to July and a new challenge over at we love stamping

with the theme this month being Sun, Sea &/or Sand or you can go with the anything goes option.

I decided to dig out my Katzelkraft flamingo stamp - every time i see these guys they make me think they are about to break into doing the can-can

5x7" card base.  See pic below for how i did the background.  I then stamped the flamingos onto white card, watercoloured with distress inks, cut out and arranged them.  Using a light brown fine liner pen i added a little shadow under each flamingo.  I inked the edge of the card with stormy skies & vintage photo distress inks.

Im trying to use old 6x6 paper pads, here i used 'coastal escape' by kaisercraft.  I took a light blue paper for the sky and die cut memory box 'circle burst' into it, behind the circle i added a yellow paper from my stash to act as the sun.
I took a different blue paper for the sea and tore the bottom edge, behind this bottom edge i added a torn strip from a different blue paper to give the effect of waves.  One paper had this fab print of the sand with the water coming in which i added the edge under the blue layer so it looked like the water is over the sand.
I then tore some more pieces from the sand print paper for the front layers.  I then stamped the sentiment with dark blue ink.
I rounded the top corners as felt it picked up the roundness of the sun

Up close of the flamingos - I added a small dot of stickles glitter glue to their head dresses for a little sparkle - I used 'twinkle' stickles which is clear with a purple undertone so ideal for these pinky purple flamingos

and the inside.  I again used papers and elements from the same paper pad.  I had one flamingo left which i added on top of a sentiment strip which reads
'Let the waves hit your feet & the sand be your seat'

Items Used:
Katzelkraft flamingo stamp
Katzelkraft stamps 'carpe diem quotes'
Memory box die 'circle burst'
Kaisercraft paper pad 'coastal escape'
Ranger stickles 'twinkle'
Distress Inks 'picked raspberry, seedless preserve, ripe persimmon, wild honey, twisted citron, tumbled glass, stormy skies, vintage photo'

Tropical Birthday

Good Morning everyone.

Today is a birthday card i made for a friend who usually enjoys a few hot sunshine holidays a year but hasn't for a wee while now so i decided to make her a sunny holiday vibe birthday card. Maybe the sun will come out for her birthday today🌞

7x7" white scalloped card blank.   I die cut the top layer of the tropical wreath from white card and the base layer from a background made with brushos. I used a craft knife and cut out the middle of the wreath, i added foam tape to the wreath and attached to the card base adding a scrap of blue paper behind the aperture to act as the sky or water. I found a piece of paper that had a sunshine vibe in my stash stamped the greeting and added to my base, i had 2 little off cuts of the green card that i added under this paper just to pick up on the green and tie it together.   A few extra die cut leaves added with glue gel for dimension.

I stamped the flamingo's onto scraps of patterned papers and white paper.  I cut out the head from the white after colouring with alcohol markers and glued that onto the paper version. I then added them into the aperture of the wreath, using the foam tape meant i could easily get their legs behind the frame.

Just a close up - it seems my flamingo's have had one too many pina colada's🍸 as they aren't quite upright😁

Items Used:
Katzelkraft flamingo stamp
Stampin up sassy salutations stamp
Tonic wreath die 'tropical fiesta frame'
Brusho's
Patterned papers -the works
CraftUK ltd 7x7 scalloped card blank

Flamingo Acetate card

Good Morning everyone, i hope you enjoyed the weekend.

Today im sharing a flamingo acetate card i made for my other sister in laws birthday.

Approx size 5x5.  I bought this memory box splash die years ago after seeing cards i loved with it and then never could find a way to use it - so this is its first outing at long last! Thought it was perfect with my funky flamingo stamp.  I used a patterned paper for my insert so that it shows through the acetate and the cut out sections of the die.

I stamped and coloured my flamingo with oxide inks and cut her out, adding glossy accents to her eyes and touches of glitter.  Die cut sun and stamped my little smile word.

Showing it side on so you can see the acetate better, i just attached the insert at the top inside so that the light can show through the bottom of the acetate.

Just a close up on the flamingo.

Items Used:
Katzelkraft flamingo stamp
Memory box 'splashing puddle' die
MFT sun die
Hunkydory acetate
B&M paper pad 'ombre'
Twinkle stickles

Thank you all for stopping by and i hope you have a goodish week.  Hugs Emmax

Rainbow Flamingo

Good Morning everyone.

This fantastic flamingo stamp from Katzelkraft has been on my wish list since i first saw it - one of those i had to have!  Anyway stock finally arrived and she came into my hands just before lockdown.

This is essentially A5 in size but the 2 parts make it the full A5.  So first i stamped my flamingo 5 times in black using my stamp platform and stamped the sentiment.  I then coloured them with oxide inks, adding extra detail with fine liner pens in the same colours to their wings and headdress. I cut to size and stamped some dots around the outside edge with the same inks, rounded the corners and matted onto black.

For the base card its approx 6x6 in size. To the sections that would be seen - the top and bottom edges i added the same inks used to colour the flamingos, then i stamped just the beautiful part of the sentiment all over in grey archival ink.  To finish i mounted the topper panel onto the base.

Glossy accents to their eyes and glitter highlights & a black iridescent gems to the centre of their head dress and by the sentiment to finish.

Side on - you can see how the topper panel overlaps the base card - almost like an artists easel set up.  This came about as once id stamped 5 flamingos that panel was as wide as an A5 card and i wanted to add a colourful background.  Unusually for me not a single die used!

Items Used:
Katzelkraft flamingo stamp
Katzelkraft sentiment stamps
Stampin up Gorgeous grunge stamps
Oxide inks  - picked raspberry, ripe presimmon, twisted citron, peacock feathers, blueprint
Coloured fine liner pens
CraftUK white linen cardstock
black cardstock.

Thank you all for stopping by once again.  I hope you are all doing ok.  Stay safe. Hugs Emmaxx
