WLS #2 Feb - CAS

Good Morning everyone

Its time for the half way post for We Love Stamping

Where the theme this month is CAS (Clean & Simple)

But if thats not for you we always have the anything goes option as long as you include stamping - either traditional stamps or digi stamps.

approx size 5x5"  I found this cat in my previously stamped and coloured drawer - It had been watercoloured with my inktense pencils and cut out.  I die cut a piece of white linen card and stamped the cat image off centre in black and also stamped the cat-i-tude stamp just beneath so it looks like the pot is stood on it.

On the base image i watecoloured the leaves and then added the cat in pot with glue gel after gently curving it in the middle, also decoupaging the leaves.  I then die cut my base card from kraft card and adhered the white panel. Glossy accents added to the cats eyes to finish.

Showing it side on so you can see the dimension of the cat and leaves.  I curved the leaves and glued part on flat so that the tips curve upwards - giving a lovely shadow and adding a bit of interest to a simple card.

Items Used:
Katzelkraft stamps KTZ295 'Cats on books'
Funky fossil stamp 'Feline magic' by Olga Heldwein ('Catt-i-tude stamp')
Nesting dies
Derwent inktense pencils
CraftUK ltd white linen card
Kraft card

These gorgeous stamps are the prize this month so do hop over to join in at

Cats on books

Good Morning everyone

Today im sharing a card I am honoured to make for guest DT for

So i dug out my Katzelkraft cat stamps and had a play.   Each time i looked at these cats on books stamps i kept thinking about a library so ive built a little library room for them to enjoy.

Card size 6x7"  I found an old 6x6 paper pad in my stash which was ideal for a wood paneled wall and some of the papers had these small photo images, clock, suitcases and little newspapers so they were ideal to build up my little scene.  Sorry i don't know the name of the paper pad or make as its long lost its cover.

I stamped the cats and watercoloured with inktense pencils and then cut them out.  I added a couple of cat words on the spine of a couple of books with a black fine liner for a bit of fun.

I matted a wood panel and soft green patterned paper onto the card front.  I worked out where i wanted the cats and then arranged the scene with clock and pics on the walls and a pile of suitcases sat on the floor - these were all cut out of one of the papers and i inked the edges with vintage photo distress ink.

I then glued the cats into place with pinflair glue gel.   From one of the papers i cut out 2 mini newspapers, one i rolled up and i glued them onto the floor.  Tim holtz chit chat sticker 'attitude is everything' to finish.

My old cat never just sits on the floor, she has to have something underneath her, so when she first arrived it was anything i'd briefly put down on the floor, so yep books, newspaper etc, so now she has a little foot stool in each room to perch upon and lord it over the rest of them.  So these cats on books remind me of her.
Here you can see the little newspapers, i just rolled the top one up for a bit of interest

I also decorated the inside of the card with papers from the same pad, a die cut oval and another one of the cat stamps from the same stamp set.   I made the cardbase and the oval from cream cardstock instead of white as it went better with the vintage feel of the paper pad.

Items Used:
Katzelkraft stamp set 'cats on books' KTZ295
6x6" paper pad
Derwent inktense pencils
Tim Holtz chit chat stickers

Birthday Cats

Good Morning everyone

Today is a birthday card for  craft friend who loves cats so i dug out the fabulous cat stamps from katzelkraft

Card size approx 5x7"    I first die cut my base card using white card and the largest crealies arch die.  I cut a smaller arch from white card and inked with oxide inks - wilted violet and chipped sapphire to the top and evergreen bough & touch of black soot to the bottom to give a night sky feeling. I splashed on some water and dabbed off &  then splashed on mica spray to give a star like shimmer when the light hits it.
From the middle top i die cut a star circle, adhered rose gold satin card behind and added to the base card.

I stamped the cats on wall image twice onto white card and watercoloured, i cut out the whole image from the first one and added to the card with glue gel, from the 2nd one i just cut out the cats and decoupaged onto the main image.

I picked a Tim Holtz snarky chat sticker which says 'I plan my whole day around the possibility of a nap' mounted it onto rose gold satin card and then the base. I glued the die cut stars that fell out from the star circle to finish.

This photo shows the rose gold satin card i used behind the stars better

and as a little gift i wanted to make a cat bookmark

I started by stamping the images onto white card, watercoloured and cut out....in hindsight i should have stamped them on paper to make it easier for the laminator...lesson learnt for next time!
I found some paper in purples as thats my friends fav colour, an off cut of cream pearl card for the base of the bookmark which picks up nicely on the colour of the cats.  Chat stickers and doodling added before laminating, then adding an eyelet and some ribbons.

I had stamped and coloured a few of these cats some made 5 bookmarks in all.  Ideal for using up the offcuts of white card i get from making 6x6" cards.   The stickers read 'I am fabulous' & 'you can never have too much happy'

Stickers read 'be awesome today' & 'darling, you are a work of art'

and finally....I was given a really beautiful paper pad for my birthday in August by ciao bella 'moon&me' and these are a couple of strips from the papers.  The moon reads 'with freedom, books, flowers and the moon who could not be happy?'

Just showing them all together

Items Used:
katzelkraft cat stamps 'cats on wall' & 'cats on books'
Star circle die
Crealies arch die (discontinued)
caio bella papers 'moon & me'
various papers
Crafters companion rose gold satin card
Distress Oxide inks 'wilted violet, evergreen bough, black soot'
Distress inks 'vintage photo, lemonade, wild honey'
Tim Holtz snarky chat stickers

Thank you all for popping by once again and all your lovely comments last week.  I hope this week is a good one for you all.  Hugs Emmaxx

Laughter...

Good Morning everyone

This is the 2nd outing for my new katzelkraft cat stamps.  Ive teamed them up with this fab inkylicious quote 'Laughter....sparkles like a splash of water in the sunlight'  So ive built my little scene around it

A5 white cardbase.  I took a piece of white card smaller than the front and stamped the cat branch, flying cat and quote in place.  I then heat embossed the waterdrops around them using a clear iridescent embossing powder which shimmers green when the light hits it.

I brushed on distress inks tumbled glass & salty ocean, keeping less colour around the sentiment area. Normally when i ink a background i go for full coverage but as i was building it up i liked the movement this had so stopped inking.  I use 'Pro Arte' stencil brushes - ive had mine years with lots of use and they are still in excellent condition.

I placed a circle/sun burst stencil over the stamped quote and inked through with lemonade oxide ink.  The oxide ink goes nicely over the distress ink and still stays yellow instead of turning green if id used lemonade distress ink. I then matted the panel onto black card and then the base.

I stamped the cats again onto white card and watercoloured with derwent inktense pencils and cut them out.  I gently added shape to them before decoupaging on the base with glue gel.

I added touches of glitter around some of  the water drops to finish.

Items Used:
Katzelkraft stamps
Inkylicious laughter stamp
Waterdrop stamps
Sunburst stencil
Distress inks tumbled glass, salty ocean
Distress oxide ink squeezed lemonade
embossing powder
Derwent inktense pencils
WRMK corner chomper

Thank you all for stopping by once again. I hope you all have a great week. Thankfully its a bit cooler this morning.  Emmax

Katzelkraft Kitty Kats

Good Morning everyone

When i saw these new cat stamps from Katzelkraft they had to fall into my basket.  For their first outing Ive teamed them up with kraft card

5x5" kraft base card - i rounded the corners.  I die cut a piece of kraft card to fit the card front using spellbinders grand label1 one die and stamped the cat on branch and sentiment with dark brown ink.  I stamped the cats a 2nd time, long with the 3rd 'falling' cat.  I watercoloured them with inktense pencils and cut out the extra cats.
I stencilled a background with oxide inks and inked the edge of the panel.  I mounted the panel on the base card with foam tape and then added the extra cats with glue gel. Gems added to finish.

and these cats are very blue😁
This is another stamp in the set.  I stamped the cats on the wall to the bottom of the spellbinders shape and a 2nd time on more kraft card, watercoloured with inktense pencils.  The 2nd cats i cut out and decoupaged onto the base image.  Katzelkraft sentiment stamped in top corner.  I added highlights with a white inktense pencil.

Items Used:
Katzelkraft stamps 'KTZ294 cats on wall' & 'KTZ206 Carpe Diem'
Crafters companion explorer quote stamp
Spellbinders grand labels 1 die
Kraft card
Derwent inktense pencils
Oxide inks salvaged patina, twisted citron, cracked pistachio
Versafine clair ink ' fallen leaves'

Thank you all for stopping by. The baby seagull has found his wings this week and back up on the roof with his parents so the cats & I can venture out into the garden once again without being attacked by dive bombing seagulls.  For the past month we have just been using the front garden so my furry gang are very happy to get their favourite sunbathing spots back to enjoy and i can get out and tidy up the flower beds.  Emmax

Pet Sympathy

Good Morning everyone

Recently Ive had to make 2 pet sympathy cards, Ive kept them both fairly simple and used a lovely paw print die by cheerylynn (I think)
First one is for a cat.  I used a rich gold pearl cardstock for my base which has a leafy design in it, i cut to 6x6" and then die cut the scalloped border & paw print from the front edge.  I added an insert from a rainbow print paper and stamped the sentiment onto the insert so it shows on the front.  I stamped the cat onto left over rainbow paper, cut him out and added to the front.

Just showing it side on, you can just about make on the design in the pearl cardstock, its years old from payper box

and onto a dog design

6x6" white linen base card.  I used a heart paw print stencil on the front with distress inks in cracked pistachio and evergreen bough, i also lightly inked the edge around the outside of the stencil which gave me an inked edge to the card.  I then die cut the paw prints from the middle and stamped my sentiment in grey ink.

I stamped the dog in grey and lightly watercoloured with distress inks shaded lilac and seedless preserve, cut him out and added to the front.  I used a ombre paper for my insert, added gold paint through 3 of the paw prints and edged the cardblank with more gold paint - sadly the photo doesn't show that up very well.

This photo shows the gold up much better.  I ended up doing this as glue was showing through one of the paw prints which wasn't good, the gold acrylic paint covered it nicely.

Items Used:
Paw print die
mft scalloped edge die
Paw print stencil
Tim Holtz mini crazy dog stamps
Katzelkraft cat stamp
Clearly besotted sentiment stamp
Distress Inks
Paperartsy gold paint

Thank you all for stopping by once again.  I hope you all have a good week.  Hugs Emmaxxx

Its raining cats and dogs

Good Morning everyone

When i saw that the challenge this month at countryviewchallenges was cats and dogs I just had to join in, although i only have cats now, I love dogs just as much and make the most of my time with my families dogs....i do miss having one but as i can't walk much wouldn't be fair on a dog.  Although having said that 2 of my cats do join me on my short daily stroll, they walk with me until the path comes out on the road and then they wait for me to come back round and we all walk home together.

Anyway onto my card, i have lots of cat and dogs stamps and was working through ideas in my head, i had also been discussing the lack of rain with the family as its a worry for the farm crops etc (hurray we have rain this morning)...after that i just had that odd saying in my head 'its raining cats and dogs' Is that a worldwide saying or just here in the UK?

I made a cardbase from acetate and cut to 7.5x5.5", i then stamped the crazy mini cats & dogs stamps over the front of the acetate with black stazon ink stamping some upside down and side on to look like they are falling through the air.  I die cut 2 sizes of rectangle frames, the larger one i added with foam tape.  The smaller one i glued onto my sentiment which had been computer printed onto vellum.  I then added the glue to the back of just the frame and adhered to the middle of the card - adding the glue to just the back of the frame meant no glue showing through the vellum.

I stamped the fab katzelkraft cat onto white card and watercoloured with distress inks, i went with a orange tone to contrast and stand out against the background. I then cut him out and adhered to the front with glue gel.

I added a white paper insert and a fab patterned paper that has a rainbow of colours running diagonally that to me had the feel of rain and rainbows so i cut that to fit the insert leaving a white edge around the outside....normally when i make my acetate cards i just used a full colour insert but it felt a bit lost this time so adding the white helped lift it and tie in with the white frames.

To balance my cat  and add a little bling, I added 3 teardrop gems which also look like rain drops, they were clear ones which i coloured orange with an alcohol marker.

Just a close up, i decided on the vellum for the sentiment so that the cats and dogs still showed up and of course i had to add glossy accents to Mr Toms eyes & nose

Items Used:
Katzelkraft cat stamp 'mini 74'
Tim Holtz stamps 'mini crazy cats & dogs'
Stitched rectangle frames
Distress inks ' lemonade, honey, vintage photo, pistachio, lilac'
Hunkydory acetate
12x12 Patterned paper 'ombre effects' B&M
Printable vellum

Thank you all for stopping by once again. The roof is progressing, finally started getting the new tiles on.   Hugs Emmaxxx
