Tartan Christmas cards

Good Morning everyone

Today is a batch of Christmas cards. I was given this lovely papercuts die for my birthday & thought it would be ideal with this tartan cardstock for many years.

Card sise 6x5" I made my cardbase from the tartan cardstock.  Then die cut the bauble die cut from both white card and gold mirror card, i offset them so that the gold just gives a drop shadow and then attached to the top of the cardfront.  I Also added a strip of the gold mirror card to the top edge and a stripe of the tartan towards the top of the white panel.

I die cut the sentiment from the white card and gold mirror, off set and adhered to the card front.  Stickles diamond glitter glue added to the baubles for extra Christmas sparkle.

Version 2 using the 2nd tartan in the pack, there were 5 sheets of both the red & green so i made 10 cards like this.  Nice and simple, the papercuts die is ideal for quick but effect cards - this die cuts nicely through 300gsm in one pass too so no faffing about😀.

Items Used:
Creative Expressions papercuts die 'bauble garland edger'
Joyscrafts seniment die
Tartan cardstock (very old, supplier no longer trading)
CraftsUK ltd white linen cardstock
Gold mirror cardstock
Ranger stickles 'diamond'

Christmas Robins

Good Morning everyone.
Thank you for all your amazing comments on my butterfly card.

Today is a Chrismtas card using the lovely robin paper cut die, you will be sick of seeing acetate i know but these are acetate cards again😊 - ive lined them with colourful inserts and they are totally flat for posting - very rare for me!

6x6 snowfall acetate card blank.  From white pearl cardstock i die cut the robins, i coloured with with oxide inks - vintage photo & campfire for the robins and then pistachio around them. I added sizzix biodegrable glitter to the robins tummy's.   Stamped a greeting and then glued the panel to the front of my acetate card.  I then raided my very old paper stash and found some suitable for the backgrounds to my robins to use for the inserts.

Trying to show the shine of the glitter, i also added stickles to the mistletoe.  Looking at this photo reminds me that i added black acrylic paint to the back of the robin's eyes, once the robins were glued to the acetate i used a black paint pen and added a little dot to the inside of the acetate where the eyes are.

and version 2 - made the same way just a different sentiment & paper for the insert.  I made several of these as ideal for batch making

Items Used:
Creative expressions paper cuts die 'under the mistletoe'
Hunkydory snowfall acetate
Various sentiment stamps
Various patterned papers
Sizzix biodegradable glitter 'caramel toffee 663870'
Tim Holtz oxide inks - cracked pistachio, crackling campfire, vintage photo
White pearl cardstock
Ranger stickles 'crystal'

Thank you all for stopping by once again.  I can't believe its half term, its scary how fast this month gone by.  I hope you all have a good week.  Hugs Emmaxxx

We three Kings

Good Morning All.

So Ive finally made a start on this years Christmas cards.  Kicking it off with these simple ones using a lovely paper cuts die.  Still using up my pile of cardstock, these are using a lovely soft gold pearl card as the base.

6x6 " card.  After making my cardbase from the soft gold card i die cut the 3 kings die from the front and then added a little colour with oxide inks in peacock, pistachio & violet.  I then made inserts from colourful heavyweight Christmas paper which i glued inside, this then makes the card more study to compensate for most of the card front being missing.  I only added a little glue to near the spine on the front of it so that the front is free which hopefully you can see from the photo - just to add some interest to what is otherwise a completely flat card.  I added a strip of the paper i used for the insert to the bottom of the front to help tie it together.

Soft gold pearl with a blue insert.  peacock, crackling campfire & violet oxide inks

and a purple insert version. Crackling campfire, peacock & pistachio oxide inks.  Sadly the photos don't show how love the gold pearl card is.  This die cut through the 300gsm cardstock perfectly first time - ideal for batch making those Christmas cards.

Items Used:
Creative Expressions papercuts die 'We three kings edger'
Soft gold Pearl 300gsm cardstock
12x12 paper pads - the works
Distress Oxide inks 'Wilted Violet, Pistachio, Peacock feathers, crackling campfire

Thank you all for stopping by.  Emmax

Happy Mothers Day

Good Morning everyone, i hope you all had a good weekend.

Today is the card i made for my Mum for Mothers day, usually i go full on flower power but on seeing this Robin papercuts die thought it would be ideal as she also loves all her garden birds and has loads at the bird feeding area outside the kitchen window, including a few pheasants.  The die is Creative Expressions papercuts under the mistletoe so for Christmas but i think it works just as well all year round and you could easily cut off the mistletoe and you don't just see Robins at Christmas!

Approx 6x5.5" card.  I started with white pearl cardstock, cut to size and then die cut the robins from the front of the card. I then added colour to the robins with oxide inks.  I used a blue paper for my insert to act as the sky for my robins, rounding the top corners.  I die cut a flower from teh same blue paper and foliage from the white pearl card coloured with oxide inks so it all ties nicely together.  Stamped sentiment and large gem to finish.

For the insert i just added a little glue to the front panel and the back so that robins are loose and have movement but protected by the insert from too much damage.

I can confirm she loved it

Items Used:
Creative Expressions Papercuts die - under the mistletoe
12x12" blue ombre paper - the works
White pearl card
Justrite sentiment stamp
Oxide inks campfire, black soot, pistachio & citron (to make the brown i added a little back to the campfire which i used on their redbreast)

At the bottom of the page is the gift ive made mum, but if you don't like spiders you might not want to look😁    Thank you all for stopping by, i hope you all have a good week. Stay safe. Emmax

And this is the gift ive made for mum.  Its for the garden, to go on the shed i thought, a giant 4" beaded spider and a web for him built around a hanging basket bracket, ive added more light catching beads into the web to glint in the light.  Just for something a bit different.

Its not quite anatomically correct.  I used the large red and gold glass beads and then diamante beads in the legs.

Ive wrapped half hard black wire around the hook adding in a mix of black and silver beads.   Ignore those loose wire ends, once its in place and its decided on the length drop of the spider i will adjust and wire it in properly.

Gatefold Sunflowers

Good Morning everyone

So while making my sunflower edger cards i thought you could turn them into a gatefold design.

Card size approx.6x10"..  Using soft gold pearl cardstock i die cut 2 sunflower panels, i then cut a piece of soft gold pearl card to size for the main section of the card, i scored and folded the edge of the sunflower panels and then adhered them to the middle panel.  I took a contrasting patterned paper and lined the inside, this also hid the joins on the card.  I added colour to the sunflowers using oxide inks.
I die cut some butterflies - soft gold for the inside and using the same paper i lined the inside for the 2 butterflies on the front.  Lots of gems & glitter glue to embellish.

Showing it stood up side on

I added a panel to the back of the card to write my greeting on, i used the same paper i lined the card with.

Items Used:
Creative expressions papercuts sunflower edger die
Sizzix butterfly dies
Stampin up sassy sentiment stamp
12x12 Ombre paper pad - the works
Oxide inks lemonade, campfire, twisted citron
Payper box soft gold pearl card

Thank you all for stopping by once again.  Hugs Emmax

Sunflowers Galore

Good Morning everyone.

Today is a batch of cards using my first creative expressions paper cuts die - sunflower edger - I LOVE it!  Im also on a mission this year to use up some of the tonne of coloured cardstock ive amassed over the years as since making my own backgrounds i don't tend to use it - i also think its been breeding in the dark of the cupboard😁

6x6" Kraft card after folding my kraft card i die cut the sunflowers from the front edge.  I added starlight paints to the sunflower details so they shimmer.  For this card i decided to use it landscape although i know its supposed to be portrait. I added a yellow insert which protects the fine edge of the sunflower and lets the card stand up.  I stamped the sentiment on an offcut of kraft card and layered onto an offcut of the yellow paper i used for the insert and attached. Glitter dots to embellish and some stamped bees.

Showing it front on

and onto different colour combos
Version 2 made the same way but portrait with a soft gold pearl cardstock and purple paper insert. Green glitter glue to the flower centres and a butterfly to finish.  The clearly besotted sentiment stamps i had fit perfectly into the middle of some simon says stamps sentiments i had - using a stamp platform i could line them up together easily, die cut into a circle to finish.

Soft gold pearl cardstock, i added a little colour to the sunflowers with oxide inks.  Pink gloss drops to embellish and a little stamped bee

Another landscape version with bright gold pearl cardstock and a black insert

Ivory pearl cardstock, i added colour to the flowers with oxide inks - yep now we have purple/pink sunflowers😁  Big gems added to the centres.

Items Used:
Creative Expressions papercuts die - sunflower edger
Chocolate Baroque 'Honey bee' stamps
Sizzix butterfly dies
Clearly besotted & Simon Says sentiment stamps
All pearl cardstock - payper box
CraftUK ltd kraft card
12x12 Papers - B&M & the works
Oxide inks
Imagination crafts starlight paints (now cadence dora paint) - diamond, rich gold

Thank you all for stopping by.  I hope its a good week for you all. Hugs Emmax
