Birthday Girls

Good Morning everyone

Today Im sharing the cards ive made for my Nieces Sophie & Lizzy's birthdays next month....having 5 nieces now its getting harder to come up with different ideas for them.

Sophie will be 9 and just loves her nail polish so ive made this little nail polish bottles shaped card.  I cut the base from black card, the inner from pink & blue satin & purple mirri card so they are bright and vibrant.  Computer printed the sentiments for the labels and then die cut.  I cut the lids from white card and added a little shading with a grey marker.

Trying to get a photo showing the true colour of the satin and mirri isn't easy!

For Lizzy one of the huggable dog cards and i made a very simple balloon for him to hold to add Lizzy's name and age too.  Ive used 300gsm card folded in half for the balloon stem so its nice and study to stand upto handling and holding the balloon up.  You can see how i made him here

6x6" card. House mouse image, i found papers in my stash to pick up on the purple and greens in the printed image and used a purple pearl card for the base and matting the topper. Glitter highlights on the image and computer printed sentiment

6x6" card. I used pink glitter card with a soft blue and peach to pick up on the colours in the toppers. I decoupaged the image.  I printed the housemouse images from the Joanna Sheen house mouse CDroms

Happy New Year!

Good Morning all and welcome to 2018.  May it be a Happy & Healthy Year for you all.

I hope you all enjoyed your Christmas.  We had a lovely time.

To kick start the year im sharing this summery card i made for a friend.  Hopefully the warmth of sunshine arrived as she opened it.  Using those wonderful house mouse images.

I first printed the house mouse image off from the cd-rom, it was a little too pastel for me so i added some extra colour using coloured pencils on the flowers only.  I cut out extra mice and decoupaged them.

A5 white card blank.  Patterned paper which i then dry embossed, matted onto gold glitter card and wrapped with pink chiffon.  I made up some daisies using white pearl card and yellow card.  Stamped LOTV centre.

Close up, i added glitter glue to the daisy centres.  After die cutting them i used a ball tool to indent along the centre of each petal.

and below i did a matching chocolate bar wrapper as a little gift.

I first wrapped the chocolate with paper, stamped the sentiment and die cut into an oval, matted onto gold glitter card.  6 little daisies to frame.  These daisies were rather time consuming to make but was rather pleased with them.

Items used:
Joanna Sheen House Mouse CD-Rom
Papermania paper pad - Elements pigments
Derwent Inktense pencils
Spellbinders M-bossibilities EL-005
Heartfelt Aster die set
Daisy die set
LOTV sentiment stamp

Thank you for stopping by, thank you for all of your visits and comments over the last year, I look forward to seeing you all again this year.  Emma

So Wishing you all

A HAPPY NEW YEAR

Sophie & Lizzy's birthdays

Good Morning all and welcome to a new week.  I hope you didn't get too much snow at the weekend, we had it very wet and windy down here.

Today i am sharing the cards i made for my 2 nieces birthdays, Sophie had hers at the weekend and its Lizzy's tomorrow.  They are growing up so fast now.

I had hoped to make them penny slider cards but ran out of time so dug out my sizzix flip it die sets, so quick cards but think the girls will love flipping them.

Showing it closed up.  Red pearl card for the base, floral paper, computer printed sentiment die cut to fit the flip circle.

Flipped Open which shows the otherside of the circle where i added the girls ages.  I picked up on the yellow in the paper and made some flowers, blue leaves and a pearl to finish.  I added glitter glue highlights as Sophie loves glitter.

Just showing the back of the card, i used a less patterned paper from the pad so can easily be written on.

and onto Lizzy's

Russet brown cardbase.  She loves owls and her bedroom is owl themed so found this fab paper.  I found this lovely chipboard owl in my stash too which i coloured with green paint to match the paper.

Showing it flipped open

and again the back of the card using a less patterned paper from the pad.

and then i made them up a simple house mouse card, i found these images id printed off a long time ago for the house mouse joanna sheen CD-rom

5x5 white cardblank.  I first decoupaged the image and added glossy accents to the bubbles.  Matted onto pink glitter card.  I then matted bubble pattern paper onto more pink glitter card and added to the card front.  Die cut sentiment.

Same as before, using this lovely dandelion image, and gold mirri card.  I added frosted lace glitter glue to the dandelion seeds.

Echo Park 'Simple Life' papers (floral)
Carta Bella 'A perfect autumn' papers (Owl)
