Have a Merry Christmas

Good Morning everyone

Another Christmas card design.  I made a snowflake stenciled background for my large die cut snowflakes.

Card size approx 6x6.5"  I first die cut my hexagon base from white card and then a smaller hexagon from more of the white card.  On this panel i used a snowflake stencil mask and distress oxide inks in shades of blues, greens & lilacs and then added some splatters.  I Then over stamped with the same inks & grey ink the words winter, Dec & 25 aall&create 'seasons' set, inked the edge in grey and adhered to the card front.

I die cut a large snowflake from white vellum and pale lilac glitter card, off set these and adhered to the card front.  Sentiment die cut from charcoal satin mirror card card.  Sadly the photos don't pick up the shimmer and shine from both the glitter card and mirror cards but in real life they really make the card when the light hits it.

Version 2

Made the same way but this time using silver holographic card for the snowflake ad black mirror card for the sentiment.  I made 10 versions of this design and a great one for making a dent in my fancy card scraps drawer where i keep off cuts of glitter, mirror, satin card!  So they are all slightly different.

I only glued the middle of the snowflakes so the edges are free to give a bit of interest and dimension otherwise its a flat card - always a mission for me!

Items Used:
Studio Light stencil (grunge masks) 'SL-GR-MASKS52'
aall&create stamp 'seaons'
Spellbinders die S4-286 '2010 snowflake pendant'
Tonic studios sentiment die - old magazine freebie
Hexagon nested dies
Distress Oxide inks - shaded lilac, tumbled glass, peacock feathers, twisted citron, evergreen bough
Versafine Clair ink 'Morning mist'
White vellum
Various glitter, mirror and satin card

I hope you all survived Storm Bert without too much damage, we did lose electric for several hours and luckily didn't need to venture out in it, on the plus side i guess is that its much warmer than all that snow last week!  I hope you all have a good week - scary that its the last week in November! Big hugs to you all. Emmax

Meowy Christmas

Good Morning everyone

Today is time for a fun Christmas card using these fun cat stamps from aall&create, i decided to use an old wreath die set from Tonic studios with them.

7x7" card base.  I first made my background by stamping onto white card with soft tone distress inks and Christmas and winter themed word stamps, using multiple generations of stamping until no ink left on the stamp.  I then embossed this panel with a 'knitted' effect embossing folder - picking up on the idea that the cats are wearing jumpers - hard to make out the embossing in the photo but it is there!

I cut matt gold card slightly smaller than the card front and then from the middle of it die cut the wreath die - this I could then use for the card front and make the gold card go further as i knew it would be hidden behind my background.  I cut the wreath die again from card i had previously inked with green brushos and pixie powders - i off set the gold and green wreaths and adhered to the card front with glue gel.

I stamped the cats, simply coloured with alcohol markers and cut out. I added glossy accents to their noses, frosted lace glitter onto the hot chocolate cream and diamond stickles onto the fairy lights.  To finish i added stickles to the berries on the wreath - on this version I used 'cosmic' which is a purple base with pink tones in the glitter which matched the colours id used to colour their jumpers.

Version 2 - different colours and i used red stickles on the berries and this one has 2 of the hot cocoa cats rather than the 2 fairy light cats on the first card and on this one i added 2 die cut bows to the top of the wreath.

I really don't fancy putting a jumper on any of my cats - I think serious injury would occur.....to me😀

Version 3 -  A5 size -  I used copper satin cardstock for my base card, the wreath base layer and to mat behind the sentiment alpha's.  I die cut individual alphas to spell 'meowy christmas' for a fun pun

You can see the copper satin better here, when the light hits it, it really does shine

and version 4 - more mossy green tones here

Items Used:
aall&create stamps #740 'light it up' & 'Seaons'
Clearly besotted stamps 'seasonal sentiments'
Tonic studios die - the four seasons loving winter
Alpha tile dies
crafters companion 8x8 embossing folder 'purl'
Brushos
Cosmic shimmer Pixie powders
alcohol markers
Ranger Stickles - frosted lace, diamond, cosmic & Christmas red
Gold & Copper satin cardstock
CraftUk ltd smooth white card

Thank you for stopping by once again and all your previous comments which i always appreciate.  I hope you are keeping warm in this cold snap - although down here its just been torrential rain so no snow......until this morning, opened the curtains to white out😁  Big hugs Emmaxxx

Christmas Candles

Good Morning everyone

Today is a batch of slimline Christmas cards made using woodware candle stamp and lots of patterned paper snippets, this fit some slim envelopes i found in my stash perfectly

8x3" card from white cardstock.  I stamped the candle stamp onto white card, cut to size and rounded the corners, i coloured the flames with yellow alcohol markers.  After stamped the candles onto various scraps of patterned paper i cut them out and adhered to the base image.  I made a mat layers from Christmas papers and layered onto the base card, all corners rounded with my trust WRMK corner chomper.

Stamped sentiment and glitter glue on the flames to finish.

version 2

version 3

version 4

Some of the scraps, most are only 1&2" wide

This shows how i stamped them, as the small pieces were very small to hold and accurately stamp onto.  I first stamped the candles onto scrap paper and kept it in my stamp platform, i could then see where to place the small scraps to line up with which ever candle fit the size of paper best.  Also doing it this way i could stamp a few at a time. If its too small to use the magnets I use a little repositionable tape on the back of the paper to hold in place.

Items Used:
Woodware stamp 'FRS390 stained glass candles'
Clearly besotted sentiment stamp
All papers are from the works
Alcohol markers
Stickles 'diamond' glitter glue

Thank you all for dropping by.  Hugs Emmax

Tartan Christmas cards

Good Morning everyone

Today is a batch of Christmas cards. I was given this lovely papercuts die for my birthday & thought it would be ideal with this tartan cardstock for many years.

Card sise 6x5" I made my cardbase from the tartan cardstock.  Then die cut the bauble die cut from both white card and gold mirror card, i offset them so that the gold just gives a drop shadow and then attached to the top of the cardfront.  I Also added a strip of the gold mirror card to the top edge and a stripe of the tartan towards the top of the white panel.

I die cut the sentiment from the white card and gold mirror, off set and adhered to the card front.  Stickles diamond glitter glue added to the baubles for extra Christmas sparkle.

Version 2 using the 2nd tartan in the pack, there were 5 sheets of both the red & green so i made 10 cards like this.  Nice and simple, the papercuts die is ideal for quick but effect cards - this die cuts nicely through 300gsm in one pass too so no faffing about😀.

Items Used:
Creative Expressions papercuts die 'bauble garland edger'
Joyscrafts seniment die
Tartan cardstock (very old, supplier no longer trading)
CraftsUK ltd white linen cardstock
Gold mirror cardstock
Ranger stickles 'diamond'

Gatefold explosion card

Good Morning everyone

My final Christmas card is one Ive made for my parents.  I used a gorgeous paper pad from the works called 'let it snow'

I found a gatefold explosion card template on pinterest and adapted to make a 7x6" card from a sheet of A3 white cardstock.  I made the exploding insert from one of the double sided papers in the pad and adhered inside.  I then used the same paper for the 2 front panels.  I took a piece of blue ribbon and attached to the back of the card, making sure it was long enough to tie up, I then covered the back panel with another paper to hide the ribbon.

The paper pad has 6" square toppers of these lovely winter scene but i die cut one with a double stitched rectangle die as it suited my card better, i matted it onto a larger rectangle die cut from silver holographic card.

Working on the front of the card, I brought the ribbon around the left hand side and held in place with tape - making sure it would be hidden under my topper!  I then added the topper to the left hand panel with foam tape.  The ribbon then ties in a bow to the right of the card to close it.

I die cut 2 snowflakes, one from silver mirror card and one from silver glitter card, but the glitter card has more of a soft lilac tone which picks up on the lilac in the topper perfectly.  I offset the snowflakes and added to the top left with glue gel and added a large gem.  Glitter glue highlights added to the topper scene to finish.

Showing it opening up...

and it open.
This paper has a lovely lilac snowfall patterned on the back so i cut a piece to mat into the middle of the exploding pop out.  Sentiment die cut from silver holographic card.  To help it stand out a bit more i went around the die cut with a blue fine liner.  I also backed my topper panel with the same paper so that it all looks neat and tidy from the inside too.

Just showing the back, I used a paler paper from the set so i can write on it.

Items Used:
12x12 paper pad from the works 'let it snow'
Double stitched rectangle dies
Snowflake die
CraftsUk Ltd smooth white card A3
SIlver holographic card
Silver glitter card
Ranger stickles 'diamond'

Thank you all for stopping by.  I hope its a good week for you.  Keep warm.  Emmax
