Kirstys Birthday

Good Morning everyone

Today im sharing a card i made for my Sister-in-laws birthday.  Her fav colour is orange so i used this lovely orange floral paper from a 12x12 pad from the works and teamed it up with a cream cardstock so a bit softer than white.

I made a 6x6" card blank from light cream cardstock, with the fold at the top i die cut the spellbinders fancy edge die from the card front.  I cut a piece of p.paper slightly smaller and die cut the fancy edge and inlay and then adhered it to the card front.

I added a strip of the cream card across the top edge and added alphas die cut from the same p.paper.  Birthday sentiment die cut from copper satin mirri card to finish.

This shows the card closed, to the inside of the back of the card i added another strip of the p.paper so that when the card is closed you can see it - you can make out the sentiment a bit better on this photo too

Just showing it stood up side on

Items Used:
Spellbinder dies
Memory box alpha dies
Sizzix sentiment die
12x12 Paper pad from the works 'nature is my home'

Thank you for popping by, i hope you all have a great week.  Hugs Emmax

Birthday Birds

Good Morning everyone.

Today im sharing the second card i made for my sister in laws birthday, very colourful and funky with these fab Katzelkraft bird stamps.  Ive done a fold back card.

DL in size(approx 4x8").  Out of A3 card i made a DL landscape card with the fold on the short edge.  I then used a scalloped edge die to cut the ends - just to add a bit of fun to the card.  I then folded the front of the card in half back on itself as shown.  Using my stamp platform i stamped a bird in the centre of the card - 1st on the folded back front and then keeping the stamp in the same place on the platform on the back panel, so that these 2 line up - hope that makes sense!
I then stamped a different bird again once on the front panel and then in the same place on the back panel and a 3rd different bird on the right of both the back panel and the front panel - (photos below show this better)  Essentially i have the 3 birds in exactly the same place on the front & back panels.

I doodled in some ground and added detail with small stamps and stencils to the background.  I coloured the legs and feathers of the birds and added some colour to the ground.

I then stamped the birds again on white card and water coloured with oxide inks, i then cut them out - only leaving the legs on the middle bird that over laps the front the rest i cut the legs off.  I gently curved them and attached with glue gel lining up with the legs on the card base.

I then stamped 2 sentiments onto coloured paper, cut to exactly the same size, i then attached one to the back panel and then lined up the second one and attached to the front panel so that when the card i closed the front one completely hides the 2nd one.

Showing it stood up - half of the middle bird on the front overlaps the edge.  Of course i had to add glossy accents to their eyes and a few touches of glitter glue.

Showing it open out.

Items Used:
Katzelkraft bird ' les zoisos' & words stamps
Lavinia mini stamps - orb & toadstool
Stampin up - curly cute sentiment stamp
MFT scalloped edge die
Stencils
Oxide inks - pistachio, candied apple, peacock, lemonade, citron, amber, evergreen. lagoon
A3 craftUK ltd smooth white card

For family birthdays i always make 2 cards, one from me and one from my parents, I try to make them completely different to each other and when making them i kind of have an idea of which one for mum and which for me but i always give my mum the choice - 9/10 she picks the one i made for her - mind you if dads around and she asks him he usually picks the one i had in mind for me😁

Thank you all for stopping by once again.  I hope you all have a good week. Stay safe and carry on crafting. Hugs Emmax
