Christmas Stag

Good Morning everyone

Ive never been so early starting my Christmas cards, but while im in the mood i shall keep going😀

Im still on my mission to put a dent in my cardstock collection so ive used pearl cardstock for my base here, it is kind of soft grey but the pearlescent is violet when the light hits it, impossible to catch in a photo...

6x6" base card.  I taped down the leaf mask to the card front and inked through with distress inks cracked pistachio & evergreen bough, removed the mask and inked the edges of the card with the same inks.  I then added some detail to the leaf with fine liner pen and grey alcohol marker for shadow.  I then heat embossed my sentiment using a navy embossing powder.  I then embossed the card with a snowfall EF.

I stamped & heat embossed the stag onto more of the same pearl card. I watercolour his antlers brown and used cosmic shimmer opal blaze on the body, this shimmers when the light hits it, impossible to catch on the camera sadly.  I then cut him out, slightly curved him and added to the card front with glue gel.  Stickles glitter glue to edge the leaf and card to finish.

This card is full of bling and shimmer with the pearl card, mica powder and glitter too.

Version 2 uses a different sentiment stamp which reads
'Winter - waves a magic want over the world and behold, everything is softer and more beautiful'

***

Version 3 - uses the leaf in a different position and distress inks - shaded lilac, seedless preserve & dusty concord

In this photo you can just about make out the shimmer on the stag

Believe in Dragons

Good Morning everyone, i hope you're having a good week

Today im sharing my first outing with this Lavinia dragon stamp

8x8" cardbase.  I cut a piece of white card to fit my card front, i made a circle mask using my large circle dies from a piece of spare cardstock, using re-positional glue i attached it to my white card panel.   I then painted inside the circle with clean water and sprinkled on brushos in shades of green and gold & red pixie powders.  Let dry completely.
I mixed up some of the pixie powder with a little water to make a thick paint and stencilled it through a star stencil.
I then stamped some foliage with oxide ink, stamped the verse in grey archival ink in the middle.  I then took a sunrays stencil and oxide inks and inked it all the way around the circle, concentrating more ink on the outside edge and fading inwards. Once completely dry i removed my mask.
I stamped the dragon 3 times with black archival inks, using my stamp platform i overstamped to get a nice solid black.  I stamped the believe and splashed on some inks to the background to finish.  Mounted onto black card and then my base card after rounding all the corners - to give a softer edge picking up on my circle.

A close up, you can see that the mica in the pixie powders and the oxide inks adds a slight resist and comes through the dragons so for the middle dragon i stamped him again onto white cardstock and cut out the middle part, i gently curved and added with glue gel which adds some nice dimension.

For my first outing of this stamp im pleased with it -  it has the feeling of a dragon eye to me.

Fathers Day

Good Morning everyone, i hope you had a good weekend.

Today im sharing the card Ive made for my dad for Fathers Day.  It gets harder each time to come up with something different for him after 15yrs of making them.  After seeing these crow stamps from Lavinia i had the idea.  He has a little family of crows that are friendly with him, whenever he is out in the yard working they are there and he feeds them too....they have little 'chats'😂  So i went with a full on nature theme which is always suitable for a farmer as he is at one with nature😁

8x8" card.  I first downloaded and printed onto card a leaf shape from the internet, i then carefully with craft knife cut the leaf out - making sure to leave the outside in tact as thats the piece i needed for a mask.  Using re-positional glue spray i sprayed the back of the 'negative' piece and attached to a piece of white cardstock.  I then damped the inside section where my leaf was with plain water and sprinkled on brushos in shades of green.  Allow to dry completely.
I then added some light stencilling with oxide inks.  Stamped lots of foliage with oxide inks and grey archival ink.  I then removed my mask - make sure its completely dry before removing the mask or it may tear......yes that was my 1st take😁.

I worked out where i wanted the crows and using my stamp press stamped them in black archival ink, i overstamped a few times to get a really nice black image.  I then doodled in a branch for them to sit on and stamped some leaves on the branch.  i doodled in a little spider hanging from the leaf.  I then stamped my sentiment, caterpillar, hedgehog & dragonflies in black.  I splashed some oxide inks of the background to soften all the white.

I then added a shadow around my leaf using grey alcohol pens. To finish i mounted onto black card and then my base card and rounded all the corners with my crop'o'dile.

Just a close up.
I like using brusho's for the base layer of colour as you cant reactivate it so I don't end up with a muddy mess of inks 😁

I always try and add a little detail to the back of the card too, so added a little panel using the same brusho's/inks/stamps and another little hedgehog to finish.  I did the same to my insert but forgot to take a photo of that.

Items Used:
Lavinia Stamps - crows, hedgehogs, insects, caterpillar
Foliage stamps - magazine freebie
Justrite sentiment stamp
Various stencils
Brushos - sea green, turquoise, lime
Oxide inks -  peacock, salted ocean, evergreen
Archival inks - black, grey, colbalt

Thank you all for stopping by once again. I hope its a good week for you all. Hugs Emmax
