WLS Aug #1 - Summer Blossoms

Good Morning everyone and hello August.

As a scheduled post I hope this is 8am August 2nd UK...I don't doubt blogger just the human hitting the buttons😃

Its the first sunday of the month so time for a new challenge over at We Love Stamping where the theme for August is

SUMMER BLOSSOMS

My card today uses an old paperartsy mini stamp and an old set of sizzix dies

Approx size 5x5.25"

I made my card base from cream linen card and the largest die, then cut next size down from more cream card and embossed with a lacy floral 3d embossing folder, i cut a 'faux' mat from teal card by drawing around the die and cutting out with scissors.  Ive done the same for my topper panel, only difference being that i adhered sepia washi stickers before embossing, these are like inky blots with floral theme text.  I then adhered the topper panel to the card front towards the top.

I stamped the vase of flowers onto more cream card in teal ink and coloured with alcohol markers, cut out and adhered to the topper panel with glue gel. I added touches of diamond stickles glitter glue to the flowers for a little sparkle. Stamped sentiment in the same teal ink,  cut out and added to the bottom

Showing it side on, its stands and balances nicely.  Using the dies like this gives me a bit more interest, versatility and a larger area to work on

and a close up of the flowers, you can see the washi stickers better here too with the text on them, they blend in lovely to the background and embossed well too, i was given them for Christmas

Kirstys Birthday

Good Morning everyone

Today im sharing a card i made for my Sister-in-laws birthday.  Her fav colour is orange so i used this lovely orange floral paper from a 12x12 pad from the works and teamed it up with a cream cardstock so a bit softer than white.

I made a 6x6" card blank from light cream cardstock, with the fold at the top i die cut the spellbinders fancy edge die from the card front.  I cut a piece of p.paper slightly smaller and die cut the fancy edge and inlay and then adhered it to the card front.

I added a strip of the cream card across the top edge and added alphas die cut from the same p.paper.  Birthday sentiment die cut from copper satin mirri card to finish.

This shows the card closed, to the inside of the back of the card i added another strip of the p.paper so that when the card is closed you can see it - you can make out the sentiment a bit better on this photo too

Just showing it stood up side on

Items Used:
Spellbinder dies
Memory box alpha dies
Sizzix sentiment die
12x12 Paper pad from the works 'nature is my home'

Thank you for popping by, i hope you all have a great week.  Hugs Emmax

Back To School

Good Morning everyone, i hope you had a good weekend.

Its time for a new challenge over at Make My Monday

The Theme this fortnight is:

BACK TO SCHOOL

I Must admit this is the first ever back to school card ive made, my little niece Lizzy is starting school for the first time next month which is a bit scary - they are growing up fast.  Not really having much in my stash, i made it with my niece Sophie in mind, she loves arts and crafts and writing at school.

In my graphics programme i designed a piece of lined paper and added the back to school and have fun sentiments with an old typewriter type font.  I then torn around the edges.  I added this to a black A5 cardbase.

From scraps of brusho card i die cut some ink splats, from white card i die cut the pen, paint brush, scissors & ink bottle and coloured them with alcohol pens, black for the handles.  They are a sizzix sizzlet die set i was kindly given quite a while ago.  I arranged them around my ink splats with a bit of twine/string.  Enamel drops to finish.

Close up, i used glossy accents on the bottle

Items Used:
Sizzix dies 'sewing & writing set' 657752
Ink splat dies
Viva paper pens
Alcohol markers
Glossy accents
Brusho's

So if you fancy joning in and just seeing what everyone comes up with for back to school, please do hop over to mmm

Well today my little nieces are coming down to spend the day with me so that will be fun and hectic im sure, they are growing up fast.  I hope you all have a good week.  Ive also added a page to my header bar of the beautiful birthday cards i got if you fancy a peek.  Emma

Blue Iris

Good Morning all, i hope you had a lovely weekend and found a bit of sunshine.

Today im sharing a little card I made for a friend, i treated myself to a set of 12 Wink of Stella pens recently so this is my first outing with them.  I used them to both colour in the image and make a matching background.

I first stamped the iris twice and coloured with 2 blue, 2 green and a touch of orange stella pens, i used them like watercolour and you still get the full sparkle effect.  I then die cut one into shape, using a mixed media die i cut out the hole detail, i then decoupaged the 2nd iris flower on top.

I die cut a matching size and shape as the topper and using the stella pens made a background, once dry i glued it behind the topper, and mounted onto a cardbase using foam tape.

Close up to try and show the sparkle, you can just about catch it, i had also shaded around the iris with yellow ink to give a softer effect.

Items Used:
Chocolate Baroque 'elegant iris' stamp
Tim Holtz 'Mixed Media' dies
Sizzix framelits '658204'
Kuretake Zig Wink Of Stella pens

Thank you for stopping by and all your amazing comments last week on my crazy birds.  I hope you all have a good week. Emma
